After the end of the Great War, the alliance of Newfen emerged victorious with little to no damage, enslaving their defeated enemies, the Council of Hysperia. Among the heroes of this era stood Teryn, the strongest mage, specializing in spatial and dark magic. Teryn single-handedly defeated both the opposing Demon Lord and the Githyanki Lord, but the battles left him with significant injuries that had not fully healed even after the war’s conclusion. Sensing an opportunity, the rest of the alliance, including the remaining heroes from the elves, Aasimars, dwarves, beastmen, humans, dragons, elemental spirits, giants, and halflings, banded together to hunt him down. They feared the overwhelming power he had displayed during the climactic battle of the war. Despite their combined efforts, Teryn managed to escape. However, in an act of desperation, he was forced to merge his soul with that of an orc—the weakest race in existence, one that had never produced a Lord-class hero of its own.
