Stunned I stood in an empty room, the room was a pitch black cube the only sources of light was coming from the seemingly glowing edges of the walls.

In the silence, I could not help but ponder upon the voice that had spoken to me and the miraculous healing of all my wounds.

Out of nowhere a string of notification windows flashed in front of me.

if you enter the trove now you will be able to select a beginner ability/weapon with 0.00% experience and your chances of survival will be much higher than without it, however, if you are to opt to go through your first instance without your beginner ability/weapon then if you survive the ability or weapon of your choice will automatically be levelled up to intermediate.

Before I could select my answer a burning sensation erupted from my left temple, it felt as though I was being branded with a hot iron symbol.

After a few minutes the pain began to subside but was still faintly there, as there were no mirrors or reflective surfaces in the room I had no choice but to ignore it and select my answer.

I selected yes.

It was better to be as safe as possible when venturing into an unknown environment then to risk your life on a small reward.

If the reward was larger I probably would have chosen differently or had I known more about the circumstances I was in or what an instance was I also would have most likely chosen differently, however, for a small reward like experience I believed it was better to not risk my life.

Another notification popped out in front of me

You will enter the beginner’s trove in 10 seconds and after selecting your ability/weapon you will immediately be transported to your first instance. 10,000 recruits will enter the trove with you.

After 10 seconds, I involuntarily closed my eyes and when I opened them I was in a massive white hall that stretched as far as the eye could see, surrounded by thousands of people I had never seen before, there where people from almost every descent as far as I could tell. The hall was silent, besides the odd murmur of impatience or annoyance from the very few people that dared to speak after 5 minutes of waiting.

Suddenly the wall in front of us opened and the monotonous voice spoke

“proceed into the room and select an available option”

Slowly everyone in the hall proceeded forward with only a few straggling behind wary of what was happening.

I being a cautious person by nature waited for the first few thousand people to enter before entering myself.

When I entered, I was greeted with 10 options; an assortment of items and abilities at the top of the items was a notification which said these were the options which I had unlocked based on my personality and memories.

Endurance (Passive). Any physical damage to you will be lowered by 25 points, if the damage is beneath 25 points then overall damage will count as 1.

Stealth (active): on activation the user will be invisible to enemies and players for 2 minutes and 30 seconds and will be untraceable unless the opponent has a higher intelligence to you by at least 10 points. Cool down 10 hours.

Dr Jekyll’s Potion (consumable): upon drinking you will attain the ‘Hyde’ active ability. You will be able to transform into Hyde and gain +7 to all stats, however, Hyde is unstable which gives a 35% chance of him attacking allies and enemies alike. 1 day cool down

Werewolf bloodline (active + passive): you will innately have 1 extra point in physique and strength each level. You will gain the half wolf transformation ability which will give you +5 strength and +7 on a full moon, if overly used the bloodline will begin to thin. 5 days cool down
