Lin felt a wave of confusion and disbelief wash over him. He had always believed in science and logic, but now he found himself in a world that seemed to defy everything he knew to be true. He wondered if he was dreaming or if he had lost his mind.
The group of people continued to stare at him, waiting for a response. Lin realized that he needed to gather his thoughts and figure out what was happening before he could answer them.
"I don't know what's going on," he finally said. "But I'm not with the Yellow Turbans. I'm not from this area. I...I think I've traveled here somehow."
The group looked at him skeptically, but one of them stepped forward. "If you're not with the Yellow Turbans, then what are you doing here? And how did you get here?"
Lin took a deep breath, trying to come up with an explanation that made sense. "I don't know how I got here," he said. "I don't remember much. I was...I was in a different place, and then suddenly I was here."
The group looked at each other again, clearly unsure of what to make of him. But then, one of them spoke up.
"We should take him to our leader," she said. "He will know what to do with him."
Lin nodded, relieved to have some direction. He followed the group as they made their way through the chaos of the battlefield. As they walked, he looked around, taking in the sights and sounds of this strange new world.
He saw soldiers on horseback charging into battle, and he heard the clang of swords and the screams of the wounded. He saw people dressed in clothing that was vastly different from what he was used to, and he realized that he was truly in a different time and place.
As they approached a large tent, Lin could hear the sound of voices inside. The group of people who had found him pushed aside the flap of the tent and motioned for him to enter.
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
Inside, he saw a man sitting on a throne, surrounded by people with strange clothing. The man looked up as Lin entered, and Lin felt a jolt of recognition.
He had seen pictures of this man before. In history books and movies, he had seen his face and heard his name. This was Liu Bei, one of the most famous figures of the Three Kingdoms period.
Lin couldn't believe it. He was standing in front of a man who had been dead for almost two thousand years. And yet, here he was, alive and well.
Liu Bei looked at Lin with curiosity. "Who are you?" he asked.
Lin took a deep breath. He knew that he needed to choose his words carefully. "My name is Lin," he said. "I'm not from this area. I...I don't remember how I've traveled here somehow."
Liu Bei raised an eyebrow. "Traveled here? From where?"
Lin hesitated. He know saying he's from the future is stupid, not to mention nobody would believe his story anyway
"I'm not entirely sure," Lin said, trying to keep his tone neutral. "I don't remember much. But I know that I'm not from area"
Liu Bei studied him for a moment before nodding. "I see. Well, it is clear that you have a soldier look, but you are not with the Yellow Turbans. So, for the time being, you are our guest. Please get your wound treated immediately"
Lin felt a wave of relief wash over him. He had expected to be treated as an enemy or a prisoner, but Liu Bei seemed willing to give him a chance.
"Thank you," Lin said, bowing slightly. "I'm grateful for your hospitality."
Liu Bei waved his hand dismissively. "It is nothing. We do what we can to help those in need. And perhaps you can be of help to us as well."
Lin looked up, surprised. "How so?"
Liu Bei leaned forward. "We are facing a great struggle, as you can see. The Yellow Turbans have risen up against us, and we are fighting to protect our land and our people. We could use someone with your knowledge and skills to aid us in this fight."
Lin hesitated. He was a soldier, but his proficiency lies within firearms and close combat using knife not a full-scale war using ancient weapons. but seeing that he what war has caused along the way makes him wanna help anyway he can
"I'll do what I can," he said, trying to sound confident. "I may not have any combat experience, but I have other skills that may be useful."
Liu Bei smiled. "Excellent. Then we will put you to work. Welcome to our cause, Lin."
Lin nodded, feeling a sense of purpose for the first time since he had arrived in this strange new world. He didn't know what the future held, but he was determined to do what he could to make a difference.
