The dance studio felt desolate, unused ballet slippers with the tag still attached. The echoes that passed through the hallways, her wheelchair stayed motionless. The stains on the crutches as a sign of progress. The floor was cold, as she struggled to stand up again, only to brace herself to fall.
That was the life she lived everyday, as Emma Garcia, abandoned onto a hospital bed. So when death finally greeted her, she simply smiled at it like an old friend. Dying was nothing compared to the pain she felt throughout her life.
When she opened her eyes again, she was greeted with blinding lights and voices. She cried reflexively as sounds of relief were heard.
She was reborn into the pokemon world, Emerald Sammy Oak was the name her parents had given her. She was tired from her old life but in this one, the thrill of being able to experience pokemon was more than she could imagine.
The pokemon world, how did she know she existed in such a world? It was because of the chanseys, audinos and Nurse Joys that walked in and out of the emergency room.
But that was all she could remember, the next thing she knew she was lying in a cold dark cave. The water that dripped above her formed a tiny puddle. Her reflection wasn't like the one she had before. It was a girl staring back at her, with orange-brown hair and star eyes. It was like something out of an anime or fiction. Almost too surreal to be touched or seen.
Emerald touched her face in confusion, how did she end up here? She looked towards the floor to see broken red and white pokeballs. It was then a voice echoed across her. She squinted her eyes as the figure came closer, blocking the sun out of her eyes.
The horror on their faces when they saw her, as the figure looked up to the cave’s ceiling in relief.
“Emmy, what happened…” he asked exasperatedly as Emerald looked at him confused.
“Who are you?” she spoke in confusion as it was his turn to look dumbfounded .
“Emmy, it’s not funny to say that after you’ve been missing in Sinnoh for months!” he exclaimed as Emerald nodded.
“Sorry, couldn't see you properly.” she mumbled, her voice cracking as if this body hadn’t talked in years, she lied through her teeth as she slowly got up only to fall into the stranger’s arms.
“You know we’ve all been worried about you,” he mumbled as he hugged Emerald tightly, Emerald on the other hand was confused why this nut job of a person would come for her.
“I’m glad to have my big sister back.” Blue muttered as Emerald’s eyes widened in shock. She had family, what a strange twist of fate. Not only did she feel loved but she looked even more forward to her pokemon journey.
Only to black out in all the shock and adrenaline running through her, this body was quite frail. Only yells could have been heard echoing in the noise as she said goodnight to the world. Before she closed her eyes she could make out a female figure running towards them.

She was Emerald Sammy Oak, and she had just come to terms with the fact she was the granddaughter of the famous Professor Oak. Her ‘brother’ informed her of her 3 month disappearance before he caught wind that she was in Sinnoh.
But he left how he found her and why she was missing out of his detailed description of her life till then. She was apparently the middle child with Daisy Oak being the oldest and Blue Oak being the youngest.
The things she had when she woke up were still in her pockets. They were keys, a pokemon licence and a notepad. But the notepad didn't have anything special written on it, just blank pages. Blue handed Emerald a pokedex and pokegear that she had lost as she grabbed it out of his hands.
“You know Rotom’s was pretty worried about you too,” he grinned as Emerald had a close-eyed smile. She internally cursed her amnesia and fate for being cruel to her. As she opened the pokedex, it floated out of her arms and faced her brother. Then all of a sudden a pokemon came out of the pokedex causing the pokedex to fall into her hands.
“Rotom’s has not been worried!” they huffed, offended at the mere thought of being worried for its owner. It was quite unusual seeing a pokemon meant for video game screens to look so realistic, its red body surrounded by blue electric currents protecting its body almost translucent.
“Eh, I could have sworn I heard you praying about her safety a couple days ago.” Blue teased as Rotom turned away, they’re so-called cheeks turning red.
“When shall Rotom go on the start of their journey!” Rotom questioned, as Blue looked amused at its attempts to dodge the question. it then returned into the pokedex as she closed the case with a sigh of relief.
“Emerald you said you would start your journey but before you could, you went missing.” Blue looked nostalgic.
“She should probably get out of the hospital bed first.” A female voice came out the shadows not sounding very impressed.
“I wasn't going to kidnap her.” Blue looked pointedly at Daisy in offence as she rolled her eyes.
“I’m being held here against my will.” Emerald said in a deadpanned voice as Blue looked exasperated.
“Can you not right now, are you trying to kill me with laughter?” Blue frowned as Daisy smiled at his suffering.
“Arrogant prick like you deserve to die.” she smiled with no remorse as Emerald nodded her head in agreement.
“Are you sure you're alright?” Daisy questioned Emerald, as Emerald hesitated at her worried expression. She was aware of Daisy’s mannerisms since the first couple hours of meeting her however she remained unsure on who she actually was. All she knew about her were small details Blue and her would mention, like the fact she was a pokemon doctor.
“No, I don’t remember much of my life until the cave.” Emerald looked away as she complimented her acting skills. But she was immensely worried about Daisy finding out about it since she was a doctor.
“You think she has amnesia?” Blue questioned but Daisy shook her head. She went closer to Emerald and lightly touched the back of her head.
“Blue told me you remembered what Pokemon were so that must mean you remember certain things don’t you?” Daisy asked again as she felt the back of her skulls trying to find something. It was also when she felt slightly self-conscious, this body probably hadn’t washed it’s hair in 3 months, it was decided that she would take a shower immediately after.
“You also remembered your name since you responded to Blue.” Daisy stated as she inspected Emerald’s head wound closer. The slight stinging of pain everytime she touched it flickered in the back of her mind.
“I don’t know who you people are, I do not know where we are but I’m aware of my name and other details like my parents' faces. It’s mostly visions of when I was younger, everything else is a bit blurry” Emerald told a half-truth as Daisy sighed into her hands, Blue shook his head in disagreement.
“Daisy I’m telling you to let go, she doesn’t even know who we are, in fact we're just strangers.” Blue said apathetically but Emerald could tell the disappointment in his eyes didn’t lie to her. Daisy grabbed onto her hand tightly as if fearing if she let go, all this would disappear like she was dreaming.
