[Congratulations, because of the unfortunate and frankly hilarious circumstances of your death, you have been chosen to be the first soul to try Lord #$%%'s deluxe reincarnation experience]
I died, I FUCKEN died. And it's not simply dying that's bothering me per se, It's the way I died that's bothering me more than death its self. Living in my country, the third world hell hole that it is, I've survived two fucking wars, terrorism, a pandemic, a quasi-civil war, another pandemic, and even more terrorism, all in the brief span of 26 years.
And now I'm floating in the middle of nothingness, staring at a green floating screen that's telling me I died while choking on a FUCKING APPLE, of all things. And that now I have the chance to reincarnate for some reason.
[We designed the deluxe reincarnation experience to be completely randomized, but as the first person to experience it, we will give you privileges to choose the world we will send you to, among several other things.]
It could have been worst, I guess. I at least get to choose the world I'm going to. I get to reincarnate with my little brother intact, and I wasn't randomly dropped into a world with crazy power levels, like dragon balls or an apocalyptic one like fallout.
Dying still sucks, and dying like THAT after all I've been through sucks even more, but after seeing so much death in my life, I've come to terms with the fact I'll probably die young for one reason or the other.
[Please select your destination]
There are all kinds of worlds anime, games, movies, novels, and even normal ones like the earth with some differences, but I already know what world to choose.
[Destination selected: one-piece world]
But why one piece? You may ask. It's a shitty world with celestial assholes, bloodthirsty marines, and murderous pirates roaming around.
The reason is that it's my favorite anime, of course. It's one of the first animes that I've watched, and it's this anime that gotten me hooked into the whole anime thing.
And unlike most people who like it because of the comedy, action, and mysteries of the one-piece world itself, I mostly liked it because of the characters, flashbacks, and the quotes by god did I love those, especially dr Hiriluk's speech before he died in the Drum Island arc.
[Please select your gender]
Definitely male. I like my bits too much to choose anything else. I barely got to use it in my past life, so I'm certainly going to use it as much as I can in this one.
[Gender selected: male, randomized character creation will now begin]
[Randomization complete]
Suddenly, the nothingness became blindingly bright. And there I was staring at a younger Keanu Reeves rocking a pair of pilot sunglasses, a tank top bullet vest, leather boots and pants, and a silver prosthetic arm to boot.
Meaning I'll reincarnate into the world of one piece as johnny silver hand of all people. It doesn't get any more random than that, I guess, but then again, it could be worse. It could have been Lord Farquaad from Shrek, Nazeem from Skyrim, or some other douchebag from god knows where, and it's not like I hated johnny while playing the game. Sure he was a manipulative and murderous asshole and had little regard for people's lives except for the ones he knew, but he makes up for it in the end, and I'm a sucker for redemption stories, now let's see what we have.

And I'm finally done. Now I need to go over everything one last time before I complete character creation. I first changed the name to johnny Linder because the name Robert doesn't exactly inspire greatness.
I then moved on to perks. The idea behind balancing perks and traits is pretty simple: if you remove something harmful, you lose C.P. You add something beneficial; you lose C.P., and vice versa. So my first thought was to remove the rocker boy perk for extra C.P., but I changed my mind since it doesn't give much. I then added the expensive D-tribesman bonus that changed my name for Johnny Linder to Johnny D Linder, which was neat. I then add the even more costly bio-Cyberware, because I know people can get even stronger Cyberware enhanced individuals through training.
and then came the sea stone prosthetic, which will be very important since I won't be able to learn Haki any time soon, and then I got some just in case perks like blue sea sailor and survivalist because I could get dropped to an uninhabited island in the middle of nowhere, which means I'll have to survive on said island and then make my way to civilization without getting lost in the sea,
I added novice swordsman as an impulse buy because cutting shit in half is awesome, so bite me. I have to, uh..., work on my swordsmanship a little more to get there, though.
Talent scout was very cheap, and it will help me recruit a decent crew, so you know, it's more of a case of why not than nothing else, and that's when I realized that my C.P. is running dry, but luckily I was done with perks by then so I moved on to traits.
I started by adding two negative traits, which were alcohol addiction and nicotine addiction since this is the world of one piece, Where you can see some characters are drinking and or smoking 24/7 in the anime with no health issues, and the fact that I noticed the infinite whisky bottle and cigarette pack is very cheap, so it was free C.P.
I then removed the impulsive trait because poor impulse control got good old johnny killed in the game, and it'll probably get me into more trouble than removing it is worth. I then removed the manipulative trait because I intend to live my life to its fullest, and being a manipulative asshole incapable of caring about the people around him will only impede that.
And that's when I ran out of C.P. again, so I added more negative traits. First was the vindictive trait because I didn't want to take shit from anyone in this life, anyway. Next came the horn dog trait because I was horny almost all the time in my past life, so free CP KANPAI!.
I also added the hunted trait because I didn't intend to become a pirate unless I was strong enough to protect myself, had a decent crew and ship. Then there were the illogical fears. First were apples because it already traumatized me, thanks to the way I died, and I'd never eat an apple again, nor will I ever look at one the same way again.
And then the balloons, because they are harmless at most, I'll shoot any balloons I see from a distance. The third was the number 13 because it's probably the most harmless out of the list, and lastly, cotton balls. They are, after all, just cotton balls. I was overall satisfied with these small harmless fears and the amount of CP I received from them, and I don't see how any of those fears will bite in the ass later... I just jinxed it, didn't I? any way moving on to inventory.
I added the self-mending upgrade to Johnny's clothes then first bought the bulletproof long leather coat for the extra protection. Because marines had the right idea about those, especially with the fickle weather of the O.P. world, you can hang it on your shoulders if it's hot or wears it if it's cold.
I also got a cool hat to make myself unique. I did little to the guitar except add the self-mending upgrade, which was very cheap. I also sold the Malorian Arms 3516 because this kind of gun didn't exist in the anime, and I didn't want any unwanted attention before I was ready for it, and it gave me a lot of C.P., so I traded it for the much cheaper Archangel,
I then bought the satori Katana, so I have something to put my swordsman perk to use.
I also bought the infinite tools, the notebook, and backpack for the sake of precaution and utility, the encyclopedia, just in case I come across a devil fruit or two. The all-fruit acts like a magnet that attracts stray devil fruit powers to inhabit it after their user dies. They were costly, but I had a plan for them, so I bought three.
What gave me the most headache was probably the cyber ware because of how many options there were. I ended up going with a balanced all-rounder build that could fight in most situations equally well, emphasizing durability and sustain. Once that was finished, I was left with a measly 50 C.P., which I converted to belly at a rate of 1 to 1000. (author's note I'm too tired to go over every single upgrade X.D.)
With the last checks done, I click finalize.
[Are you sure you would like to finalize the character creation? please note that you cannot make any more adjustments, and you will have to rely on yourself once character creation is complete entirely!]
Huh, so no system. No complaints from me, though. Becoming reliant on an overpowered system will only lead to complacency, which does not sound like a good time for me, so yeah, I'm sure.
[On behalf of Lord #$%%, we would like to thank you for participating in the D.R.E. and would like to wish you good luck in your adventures!]
Suddenly my vision shifted, and I was falling headfirst towards what seems to be a sandy shore. Luckily, I've been able to maneuver myself and land on my feet at the very last second. Thank you, enhanced reflexes!
Checking my surroundings, I notice the items I bought stacked into a neat pile not too far away from me. I also seem to be on the beach of an island covered with all kinds of trees, and that it's getting dark.
Acting quickly, I remove my possessions from the beach to avoid getting swept by the tide. I then take out a tent, install it near the forest, and start a fire with a lighter from the survival kit after gathering some wicking and dried branches. I also carry a small log I found while gathering branches for the fire to act as a makeshift bench for me to sit near the fire.
Noticing that I'm not feeling hungry, I sit and take out my whisky bottle and light cigarettes. After a lovely couple of minutes of drinking and smoking, I take out my guitar and start mumbling some sea shanties while gazing at the stars, which continues for about an hour or two until I get sleepy. At this point, I head off to bed, intending to explore the island tomorrow morning.
-0-
I wake up early in the morning feeling refreshed; looking down, I'm greeted with the sight of my very own silver prosthetic arm, which I clench and unclench several times, 'so it really wasn't a dream I actually died and got sent to the world of one piece by a R.O.B I'm who's name I can't even try to pronounce without getting a massive headache,' I idly think to myself as I reach for one of the fruits that I gathered yesterday while looking for timber for the fire.
After finishing my refreshing fruit, I grab a couple more and head outside my tent, but not before tucking my revolver, which I had hidden under the below in my belt, holding satori which I had left lying next to my bedroll with my free hand and wearing my backpack which I stuffed with even more fruit.
Once outside my tent, I take a moment to check my surroundings for any signs of danger, seeing as the cost seems to be clear with no sign of any threats or any footprints in the sand other than the ones I left behind yesterday, I sit on the tree log near the now extinguished fire to finish my fruity breakfast.
Once done, I light a cigarette and stand up, heading in the forest's direction near the beach. Although I'm a little thirsty, my only source of fluids is my whisky bottle, and I have to be completely sober while exploring the unfamiliar terrain of the island for obvious reasons. 'It's decided then, securing a clean source of fresh water will be my top priority while exploring.'
Once inside the forest, I draw satori from its sheath and hold it in my left prosthetic hand. Tuck said, sheath in my belt while keeping my right hand on my revolver, ready to draw it at a moment's notice. That said, though, I'll try to rely on satori more than the gun to develop my basic swordsmanship.
Marching through the tree-infested land and towards what I hope to be the center of the island, I keep up my guard and try to be as alert as I can to react as fast as possible to any unforeseen situation.
My march continued peacefully for what seemed to be half an hour, give or take a couple of minutes. I finally notice some tracks littering the forest ground. After taking a cursory glance around me to make sure I won't be ambushed by some forest creature while investigating said tracks, I kneel with one knee and run my hands through the tracks to remove the leaves covering some of the tracks.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
I notice animal tracks, lots of them. They seem to be fresh too, which is a good sign because animal tracks mean animals, and animals mean protein. More importantly, water because animals wouldn't be able to survive this island otherwise.
Suddenly my body goes frigid as I hear a dry crunching sound coming from behind me, 'crap I got too excited and let my guard down,' I thought; my body, however, was already reacting, turning around while standing up as fast as I can without losing my balance I swing my blade as hard as I can in the sound's direction, only to hear a metallic clang as the sharp end of my sword met a pair of gleaming large white tusks.
Taking advantage of the stalemate while my sword intertwined with the offending tusks, I take a moment to take in the sight of my attacker, only for my vision to be filled with a large brown furry head at least two times the size of my own adorned by a pair of fierce red eyes that promised bloody murder attached to its furry face, which I grin at while putting more force into my arms to send it sliding backward a good couple of meters.
Taking a second look at my attacker, which turned to be some overgrown tusked boar, taking the sight of its two-meter tall body as it thrashes its hind legs wildly in place and sending a pile of dirt flying behind it and snorting a breath of air from its giant nostrils strong enough to send the fallen tree leaves as far as a full meter in front of it flying, I only feel my grin stretching even wider across my face, as try to calm the wild beating of my heart, 'why is my heart beating so hard,' I wonder idly inside my head as I keep my eyes on my opponent.
Our staring competition continues as the leaves that its breath sent flying finally start falling. As the last leaf hits the ground, we both take that as our sign and start charging towards each other. It squeals, putting its sharp set of teeth that no boar has any business having on full display, and lowers its head while charging towards me, making its intention to skewer me with its tusks blindingly obvious. I drop my stance while bringing satori to my lower left side and start a charge of my own.
Time seemed as if it had been slowed as we neared each other with our eyes locked on each other until we were at a striking distance, and that's when I halted my forward charge and took a step to the right, barely dodging its gleaming white tusks, putting me in a perfect position to strike at its unprotected throat by simply raising my sword, which I do a course, drawing a splash of blood and causing the boar to squeal and crash nose-first in the dirt ground right behind me, I turn around and watch as it tries to stand up only for it to spasm and fall to the ground again, feeling my heart rate goes up continuously, I calmly walk up to thrashing beast and swiftly plunge the blade of my sword through its head ending its suffering.
The majestic beast that could obliterate an average tree to smithereens by simply smashing into it, reality finally seems to hit, "I did this," I whisper to no one in particular, as my heart rate finally seems to stabilize. Still, what was that feeling, and what caused my heart to go wild like that? I wonder as I try to recall the feeling. It most definitely wasn't fear or dread. I know fear, and that wasn't it, could it be..?
"sigh if it wasn't fear, then it can only be excitement. I guess I'm a battle maniac then. I just hope I don't turn into some kind of stupid muscle head."
Having come to terms with the strangely not so unpleasant conclusion, the wide grin that was stretching across my face, the whole fight finally disappears only to be replaced by a faint smile.
Finally coming down from my battle-high, I swing satori to my side to get rid of the blood lingering on its blade and wipe it on my dead opponent's hide for good measure. I then return it to its sheath and leave the first enemy that I have defeated behind me in favor of continuing to explore the island and finding a stable source of freshwater. I really wanted to take to the corpse back with me to feast on back in the camp, but its large size would only slow me down, and the smell of blood will only attract predators.
I continue walking towards the center of the island for a while until I come upon a large tree with weird circular leaves bearing what seemed to be dried-up bottle gourds as fruits.
"I could hallow these out and use them for water storage later," I mutter to myself as I climb the freakishly large tree, finally reaching a high enough point for the bottle gourds to be within my hand's reach. I drew satori and cut the stems of ten bottle gourds so that they would fall to the ground for me to pick up.
Climbing down from the tree, I pick up the scattered bottle gourds only to notice a wet swishing sound as I pick one up; growing curious, I use my knuckles to tap on its surface, hearing a somewhat loud knock, so they're hollow inside, 'interesting' i think as I send its top flying with satori, looking inside the gourd I notice that it's filled with some multi-colored liquid.
After a moment of thought, I shrug my shoulders and bring the bottle gourd to my mouth to take a swig since I'm immune to poison because of the detoxifier cyberwar, only for my sense of taste to be assaulted by all kinds of fruity flavors suddenly, it first tasted like watermelon and then changed to grape only to keep changing several times each second it stayed in my mouth, I then gulped heavily only to bring the bottle gourd back to my mouth and drain it of its contents like I was dying of dehydration, finishing my drink and making sure that I've consumed every last bit of juice, I then turn my sights to the bottle gourd tree and look at it with a smoldering gaze so intense that I could have sworn I saw the tree sweatdropped.
Climbing back to the reach of the bottle gourds, I cut the stems, often more of them, and climbed down to pick up and stuff them inside of my backpack. That was the most delicious drink I have ever tasted. Of course, I was going to get more. Besides, since they're hollow, it will save upon the time that I had intended to spend carving them up, and I can use them to store water once I drained them of their juice, finally satisfied with my harvest and no longer thirsty, I continue my march through the forest.
My trip proceeded peacefully and uneventfully for a couple of hours except for my encounter with a group of strangely ferocious turkey-like birds that tried to ambush me some time after I left the bottle gourd tree, trying being the keyword here since I saw them coming a mile away thanks to my enhanced senses and learning from my mistake of lowering my guard before I was ambushed the by tusked boar, I of course then beat the living shit out of them. However, I only killed two of the ferocious birds by snapping their nicks to take back to my camp and left the rest to their fates because, unlike the boar, they weren't big or heavy enough to slow me down and won't attract any predator since I killed them by snapping their necks.
Glancing at the sun in the sky and roughly determining the time, I gave up on trying to locate the center of the island since it wasn't as important as finding a source of water, and so turning to the ground, I find the tracks of what seemed to be and large feline based on the paw marks it left on the ground which I decide to track, my logic here being that it will need to go to a water source every day if not to drink then to find and ambush prey while it was distracted drinking water.
After what seemed like an hour and a half of going in circles following the large feline's tracks, my ears picked up the sound of flowing water. I sighed and left reluctantly, ignoring the tracks I've been following for what seemed like an eternity. I fortunately or, unfortunately (i can't seem to decide) didn't come across the owner of said tracks.
After several minutes of walking, I finally came upon a large stream of water. Trying to be as cautious as possible, I climb a tree near the creek to get a better line of sight and survey the surrounding area.
Noticing no presence nearby, I climb down and head towards the stream and kneel next to it, and start by grabbing a handful of water and eyeing it closely, noticing that it's clear and has no smell to it. I then held the water inside my mouth and started swishing it around, not tasting anything strange, not tasting anything. I swallow the water and sigh. Why so much precaution if you're immune to poison, you might ask? The answer is simply that it wasn't precaution. Still, I was looking for signs of pollutions because if the water was polluted, then it means that humans are responsible for polluting it one way or the other, so to make a long story short, I was checking for humans the presence. The water is as straightforward as it means that there are no humans nearby, at least not in the direction that the stream is flowing from.
After drinking a couple more handfuls of water, washing my head and hands, and refilling the empty bottle gourd, which I drained during my hours-long march, I get up and start making my way to my camp.
My trip back to my camp was relatively uneventful, the only exciting thing that happened was that when I reached the place where I fought the tusked boar earlier today and didn't see its corpse anywhere, what I saw, however, was a set of large paw prints on the ground, as big as my torso in fact and a lot of blood and black-colored feathers, I concluded that there was a fight between two strong beasts here, a big one, considering the state of the smashed trees nearby. It was probably over the body of that poor boar.
After finally reaching my camp and securing its perimeter, I slump down on my tree log bench exhausted, too tired to do anything else. I sit there while taking the occasional sip from my whisky bottle for a couple of minutes of deserved rest. I then light a cigarette and slowly make my way to the beach to take a swim to wash away the dirt and grime accumulated during my trip. I also get lucky and catch a couple of fish using an improvised sharpened stick spear.
Swimming back to land with my stick-spear adorned with three slightly more oversized than palm-sized fishes impaled through their sides, I start a fire and to warm myself and to cook the fish and the turkey like birds; after setting the meats above the fire, I go inside my tent to grab my guitar to stave off the boredom until my meal is ready.
I then sit down and start singing while playing my guitar next to the fire.
"shiver my timber shiver, my soul, Yoo-hoo heave-hoo, they were men whose hearts were as black as coal..." (Shiver My Timbers cover - Thunderclash)
I continue to sing for a couple of minutes until my meal is ready, which I devour with a passion despite its blandness and lack of seasoning, only feeling filled after eating an entire bird, two fish, and a bunch of fruits.
The meal finished with nothing better to do; I pick up satori and start swinging it in a practiced manner that's been drilled into my head thanks to the novice swordsman perk; I keep doing that until my arms get tired and then run, doing squats, and sit-ups until I tire of that and then get back to doing my practice sword swings.
This continued for several hours until I felt tired and notice darkness all around me. I then head to the now extinguished fire to start it again and heat the remaining of my lunch.
Meal heated and devoured, I continue sitting on the log as I go through the events of my day. The first thing that comes to my mind is my fight against the boar bringing a smile. Then that weird tree with the bottle gourds, making my smile become even more comprehensive as I cut the top of one of them and drain its contents, I sigh after that remembering that I didn't come across any human presence, even though I didn't go through the entire island I was 80% sure that I've been sent to an uninhabited island, I hope it isn't somewhere crazy like the calm belt or the grand line.
Shaking the negative thoughts out of my head, I smile, 'today has been a good day, I think to myself as I take a sip out of my whisky bottle, feeling satisfied and tired after a day of hard work, I head inside my tent for some sleep, intending to figure out what I want to achieve in this world and how I'm going to do it.
-0-
After a whole night's sleep, I wake up feeling energetic and head outside my tent to do what would probably be my daily routine for as long as I stay on this island, like yesterday I started by grabbing several fruits to have as my breakfast since I devoured all the meat yesterday.
I then equip my gear, survey the surroundings for any dangers, and sit down and stretch any lingering sleep away from my head after my search for any signs of threats proved Unfruitful.
Finally clear-headed, somewhat complete, and ready to act, I jog in the forest's direction with a lit cigarette in my mouth. My first stop was the bottle gourd tree to get a dozen of them, which I then stuffed inside my backpack and headed deeper to the forest into the stream to refill my empty gourds with my water.
I then make my way back to camp while picking any mushrooms, fruits, nuts, and vegetables I come across to put as much diversity as I can into my diet. My trip back was uneventful and much shorter than yesterday, only taking an hour and a half or two max.
During my trip back, I came across the tracks of the feline that I tracked yesterday while looking for a source of water, which I had to reluctantly ignore in favor of returning to my camp to set my goals and plans.
Finally reaching my camp, feeling only slightly tired after what must have been at least an hour and a half of constant jogging. 'thank you, enhanced stamina.' i smile white, thinking inside my head, and sit for a couple of minutes sipping some gourd juice to wash away the exhaustion and take out my notebook and pen to start my planning session.
The primary goal, I scribble first, trying to think of what I want to do in this world, which didn't take me that long.
What I wanted to do was quite simple. I want to live a full and happy life, which I write beneath the primary goal.
To live a full and happy and life, I'll need to explore the sea and see its wonders with my eyes. I mean, the world of one piece is exquisite if you ignore the catastrophic weather, sea king infested waters, and the many deadly hazards which are all too familiar, of course, but it is an enchanting world indeed. I want to see as much of it as I can.
To do that, I needed friends, comrades, companions, whatever you want to call them, not only for the obvious reasons like the strength which numbers bring, look at whitebeard, the world's most muscular man, even with the power to destroy the friggen the world. A literal army of pirates he still died in the marine-ford, granted he wanted to die there, but numbers still defeated him, so my point still stands.
Or that to sail the seas, a crew with all kinds of experiences is very much a necessity, since I can't do everything on my own, sure I had some basic knowledge about navigation and first aid. Still, my little basic knowledge would be useless when compared to true experts in said fields.
But also because going through such a grand adventure alone would be meaningless with no people I care about to share that experience with, and so I scribble crew beneath living a full life.
"but of crew of what," I mutter to myself as I take a minute to ponder while twirling the pen between my fingers.
There are four paths that I can take, which I write beneath the crew, the marine path, the revolutionary path, the bounty hunter path, and lastly, the pirate path.
The pros of becoming a marine would entail access to training, some resources, and maybe even the six powers, which are seven and Haki if I play my cards right. The cons, however, entail taking orders, not having any real freedom to act or travel as I see fit, getting asked questions about my prosthetics, having my nonexistent background investigated, being a servant of celestial dragons, and that I can probably figure the six powers and Haki on my own, albeit at a slower pace, having listed both the pros and cons I take some time think, only to shake my head, deciding the cons outweigh the pros and then cross the marine path.
The pros and cons of joining the revolutionary army are more or less the same as joining the marines with the added benefit of meeting some pretty cool people, not serving the celestials dragons, and not learning the six powers. I again take some time to think, only to unsurprisingly cross the revolutionary path, I mean, taking orders is a big no-no for me even if said orders are coming from someone as outstanding as Monkey D Dragon, and besides, I'm not such a bleeding heart that I will try to save the world, the celestial dragons can keep jerking each other off at Mariejois for ill care, as long as they don't cross me of course. Still, I'll try to maintain a friendly relationship with the revolutionaries if possible.
Being a bounty hunter will offer me a lot of freedom to act and travel at my leisure without breaking the law, of course. The ability to gather resources I can use to fund my plans by hunting pirates and claiming their bounties, that being said, it's also the fastest way to build grudges and make enemies and bounty hunters don't really make it big in one piece, the seas are ruled by the world government, the revolutionaries, and big pirate crews, and bounty hunters don't amount to anything much in paradise and the new world. I take a slightly longer time debating the pros and cons inside my head, only to move on after failing to decide about this path, leaving it untouched inside my notebook.
Piracy offers me the most freedom out of all options in all ways. It also means that I cannot get as many recourses as I need, provided I'm strong enough to get said resources for myself and to beat up any marine or bounty hunter coming after me, and, of course, it's also the fastest way to make a reputation for myself, thanks to the world government's retarded bounty system.
I really don't know what the world government was thinking when they came up with this system, sure it could lure some bounty hunters to do the dirty work of the government for them, but it would also act as a philter getting rid of all the weaker pirates leaving only the elites with less competition and more resources to thrive, it would also give world-wide exposure and fame to any pirate intelligent and strong enough to survive with a hefty bounty on their head, so it's just a joke system doing more bad than good and by actually giving the pirates a way to determine their strength by how big their bounties are, and giving them an easier time recruiting better crew members based on their bounty-enhanced infamy.
There are only two cons I can think of for being a pirate, the first being constantly being hunted down, which can be solved quickly enough with the application of sufficient strength, and the second is not being well received by locals while traveling, which is not that big of a deal in and by itself.
And so I'm left between two choices, leading me to dive even deeper inside my head, as I continuously debate my two options again and again and again, only to be interrupted by the rumbling of my stomach.
I suddenly realized that I must have spent a couple of hours drowning in my thoughts, evidenced by the scorching sun, which had made its way straight above my head.
Sighing, I decided that thinking on an empty stomach would only make things worse, so I grabbed a sharpened stick and made my way towards the seawater to get some fish to satiate my hunger with.
After cooking and devouring my lunch, which did little to clear my conflicting thoughts, I frustratedly take hold of satori and archangel and set my sights on the forest, intending to go inside of it, not to explore, not to search for sustenance, but to find a fight, not being able to make a choice has frustrated me more than I thought it would. So I've gone and vented my frustration on the first strong-looking animal that I can find in the forest.
I made my way to the forest by taking a couple of slow steps, only for them to develop into a jog as my heart started to beat in anticipation. However, that also did not last for long because my jog then turned into a full sprint as what I can only imagine as a maniacal/deranged smile stretched across my face.
And so I sprinted through the woods, oozing what could be described as an almost tangible aura of battle lust, not even sparing a second glance as all kinds of small animals fled in all directions ahead of my path, only stopping momentarily to dodge or slash several weak-looking, whose shapes I honestly couldn't even be bothered to memorize, as they tried to attack me.
My battle-lust-induced sprint continues, only to come to an abrupt end, as I stop to lay my eyes on it.
And by god, was it the most glorious thing I have ever seen, standing at an impressive 5 meters, it shrieked, simultaneously holding the two halves of what seems to be a tiger two times its size and bathing in its blood while striking its chest at the same time.
My smile widens even further, growing even more maniacal, as I gaze at this monstrosity that was a giant, silver, four-armed gorilla, bathing in the blood of its dead foe and declaring itself as the strongest predator in this area of the forest and claiming it as its territory.
"Hey, four-arms," I state loudly, trying to get its attention, and not failing as it finally seems to notice me, its savage gaze landed on my person, appraising me for several seconds, as it finally seemed to understand my purpose for standing in front of it, and I could have sworn that it looked to be quite annoyed as it threw away the two halves of the poor tiger and prepared its self for incoming battle.
"let's fight," I say simply as I stab the sheathed satori into the soft ground beside me and start charging bare-handedly toward the giant gorilla while laughing loudly.
He answered my charge by standing its ground and holding one of its arms backward in a fist, preparing to crush my bones and send me flying with its fist.
I happily answer its challenge, doing the same as I continue my charge. It doesn't take me a long time to be in striking distance of the gorilla as its enormous fist covers my vision, blocking all other sights.
I answer by launching my left prosthetic fist in its direction as I channel all power I can into it. A shock wave sent both leaves and branches all around us as the gorilla's large silver-furred arm met my much smaller metallic arm.
We continued pushing each other for a second or two until we both staggered backward, me reeling a good five steps and the gorilla merely taking a single step back.
'it has an overwhelming advantage in terms of brute force,' I think as I try to develop the best strategy to defeat my opponent.
'if the brute strength approach doesn't work, then I'll go with finesse instead.' I think again as I raise my hands in a traditional boxing stance and approach step by step more slowly and carefully.
Looking at my cautious approaching figure, the gorilla snorts, seemingly disdainful of my caution, and then charges towards me while shrieking and beating its chest, once close. It launches one of its giant fists toward my head, which I barely dodge, by weaving my body the side and taking a step forward, trying to get close enough to strike its abdomen or one of its sides 'I seem to have a small advantage in speed.' I think inside my head, not having the leisure to think of much else.
It sends a second and third punch, each seemingly more vicious than its predecessor, which I also dodge by a hear-breadth until I'm close enough to plant my fist to its left side, doing no damage at all, 'crap, what the hell is this guy's skin made of' i think briefly as it continuously tries to smash my head, and splatter its contents across the forest floor. I continue weaving left while striking at its sides at every chance I get.
The stalemate of dodging and counter-attacking is finally broken as it tries to engulf me in a bear hug, or a gorilla hug to be more precise with two of its muscular arms, which I avoid by taking a step backward, causing my foe to catch nothing but air, I then take a step forward and lunge my fist toward its face which it lowered while trying to catch me in its gorilla hug, but my eyes open wide as it suddenly smirked smugly in my direction, I only had time to bring my arm back and guard my chest as one of its two hands which had been idle the whole fight to strike my hastily made arm guard sending me flying back, and knocking the air out of my lungs, 'this guy is definitely smarter than it looks, it lured me into a false sense of security by not using two if its arms during the fight only to strike me with one of them when I least expected it.' I thought as I took a big breath and corrected my stance mid-air to make myself slide backward when I hit the ground instead of tumbling and rolling like a rag doll.
Having noticed that I've been sent flying toward my sword, I reach for it with my right hand and draw it while still mid-air while leaving the sheath buried in the ground, hesitating for a fraction of a second, I also hold my revolver with my right while sliding backward and lower my stance and stab my sword into the ground to stop myself from sliding anymore, and barely stopping myself before slamming into a tree.
I then fire a shot that hit the giant gorilla's chest, only causing it to take a step backward and grunt in slight pain, making my eyes twitch at its freakishly tough hide, seeing as I could attack from range and lacking the same capability, it charged at me deciding to keep our confrontation a melee one so as not to lose its advantage, looking at its charging figure I calmly raise my revolver and start firing at it while pedaling backward.
It simply raises its four arms to protect its head and torso without stopping its charge as it grits its teeth through the pain of my bullets hitting it and bouncing off its tough hide, only causing it some pain and slightly slowing it down.
I stop pedaling backward as I fire the last bullet in my revolver. I then place it back in my belt and then stand my ground while holding my sword with both hands in front of me.
My opponent doesn't leave me waiting for long, as its shrieking tyrannical form finally towers over me, throwing a massive silver fist in my direction, which I parry to side using my blade and move forward as fast as I can while ducking under its arm, dodging another punch and slashing at its now unprotected side while remaining on guard for of it's two remaining arms, luckily it wasn't fast enough to react in time, and I sliced its side and go behind it. Then I turned around and quickly swung my blade at its wide-open back and jumped back as it also turned around merely a fraction of a second later and tried to sweep my side with its fist.
'crap this guy's hide must be as hard as steel. Even satori only left two white lines at its side and back,' I think as I take a step forward and dodge several more attacks to slash its side at the same place.
The stalemate of dodging and counter-attacking returned, except that I focused on attacking its left side. It, of course, didn't long to notice the pattern and predicted my attacks limiting my option. As we continued to fight, I landed fewer hits, while its attacks became even harder to dodge because it was able to predict my attacks.
As we continued our fight, which was slowly but surely becoming more and more helpful for the gorilla, it finally made a mistake by stepping into a hole in the ground and losing its balance. My body reacted on pure instinct as I took a step forward and lowered my sword to my side.
I then slashed at its side while shouting at the top of my lungs, "Zekkū(Absolute Void)," and finally I saw the color red 'huh neat, so shouting attack names really strengthens them.' I think as I turn around and jump backward in case of any counter-attack.
'ugh, so this my life now fighting giant gorillas in a forest while shouting chunibyo attack names, you, the giant gorilla over there hurry and kill me before I die of embarrassment.' I think while gazing at the thin red line I left at my opponent's side as the words my life linger for a while longer inside my head, my life..? and suddenly it hits me. I felt the urge to bang my head against a hard surface for taking so long, thinking about which path I wanted to take, which was silly of me, to be honest, now that I think about it.
Looking at the gorilla, which brought its hand to its side and then up to its face, it looked at the small amount of blood staining its hand and then looked at me with a look of serious contemplation. It then looked back at its hand and then at me. It kept alternating its gaze between its hand and my form until I sheepishly raised a cupped fist to my mouth and coughed dryly, honestly feeling embarrassed by the giant gorilla's bewildered gaze.
"ah-hm, that was a great fight but I really have to go now," I said embarrassedly as I felt an urge to go back to my camp and complete my planning session since I was finally clear-headed enough to continue without going in circles around myself inside my head.
"you're really strong, and that was definitely my loss, so how about we continue this another time since I really have to get going," I said as I reached into my backpack, taking several fruits and throwing them to the gorilla.
It caught one of them, and after giving it a couple of sniffs, it stuffed it inside its mouth. After chowing it several times, it swallowed.
Having finished the fruit, it just snorted at me and turned around to leave. Looking at the gorilla's retreating figure, I confirmed this guy is most definitely more intelligent than it looks; I didn't overthink, however, as this is the world of one piece where turtles would practice kung fu and monkeys and tigers wield swords like it's the most normal thing. An intelligent gorilla is nothing strange.
Picking up satori's sheath and sheathing it inside, I make my back to camp.
-0-
Making my way back to my camp was both fast and eventful, as I had already taken care of most hostile animals during my crazed sprint earlier today. The sky, however, was already showing signs of getting dark as I had wasted too much daytime while brainstorming.
And so, after preparing and devouring a simple meal to recover any lost energy, I start a fire and sit near it, pen and notebook in hand, looking at the two uncrossed options, bounty hunter and pirate. I sigh disappointedly in myself for my idiocy toward failing to notice something so obvious.
I mean, who the hell said I have to choose one path and stick to it from start to finish, this is my life, my actual life, not some kind of role-playing game, so I can simply do whatever I want.
And so I simply decided that as long as I started in one of the four blue seas, I would start traveling as a bounty hunter once I make it out of this island, I would then steadily build a reputation for myself and gather enough money to buy a ship, once I had a presentable ship that would last me long enough to reach water seven and buy a new one worthy of the waters of the grand-line, I then would need to find and recruit some crew members.
My number one priority is being a navigator, as my basic navigation knowledge would mean I would end up at the bottom of the sea right after crossing reverse mountain or even while crossing it, the second priority being a doctor, as I only knew how to apply basic first aid. I had absolute knowledge about curing illness and diseases or any complicated medical procedure for that matter, not that I was afraid of getting sick thanks to my cyberware enhanced immune system. So it was more of a for the rest of the crew thing than for myself, really. A cook would also be necessary since healthy and delicious food would keep the crew's morale high. High morale was an absolute necessity while spending possibly weeks or months on a ship traveling from one island to the other.
I also need them to be strong enough not to be a liability and not have problematic personalities. I mean, I don't mind quirky people like Luffy's crew. Still, I don't want to sail on the same ship with some murderous asshole who kills and tortures people for fun or some kind of traitorous bitch like black beard.
Once I had both a ship a crew capable of sailing through the grand line, that would be the time for me to raise a pirate a flag and do something big enough to get a decent bounty and then make my way towards the grand line once there I'll try to increase my bounty high enough to be noticed but not too high to where I will have a marine HQ admiral on my ass.
Once I have a high enough bounty, I'll try to keep a low profile and wait for a chance to get myself one of the seven warlords of the sea positions if possible. I will then explore and sightsee paradise at my leisure while trying to build a pirate fleet or something similar.
Once I gathered a large enough force to carve a chunk of the second half of the grand-line for myself, it would be the time for double-crossing the world government again and heading into the new world.
This entire plan, however, was based on me currently being in one of the blues and not the grand line or the calm belt, I don't want to even think about me being in any of those places right now since it would complicate things too much for me, and so I have wisely decided not to think about it and leave this possible headache for my future self.
Having finally set a goal for myself and a long-term plan to achieve it, I then circle both the bounty hunter and pirate words on my notebook, scribble down my strategy, and then flip the page, moving to a blank one.
With the complicated part complete, I then write my knowledge of what I hope is the future since I don't even know what year or date I was sent into.
I start by writing about any event that I can use without messing up the canon too much, as that would mean my future knowledge would become obsolete and deny me one of my biggest advantages in this world.
The first thing I can think of is the defeat of crocodiles in Alabasta, there are a lot of things I can take advantage of there during the chaos, like robbing crocodile's casino and taking over all of his wealth and maybe even the sea stone that he somehow managed get, recruit some of the agents of the baroque works, and it's also the easiest way for me to secure one warlord of the sea positions. However, I'll keep that as a last resort since I want to get the position much earlier so that I can milk it for as much benefit as I can before moving on to the new world.
The next event is the defeat of Enel on the sky island of Skypea, which I intend to visit not only for sightseeing but to get as many dials as I can since they are quite useful. They offer a lot of auxiliary use if not for me then for my crew, not to mention the obscene amounts of gold there, and do something which I'd planned the moment I laid my eyes on the cyberwar that gives shock-immunity during character creation, that's right I'm planning to kill Enel and steal his fruit using one of my all-fruits. To eat it myself or give it to one of my crew members, which I haven't decided yet, so I had to make it to Skypea before the straw hats, though.
Then there was the water seven arc and the thriller park, I didn't intend to interfere during those two events since I had no intention of messing with the world government like that by interfering in their plans to secure the blueprints of the ancient weapon, pluton, and there wasn't anything I would gain by interfering in the thriller park events.
And so after having decided on some small goals for me to achieve in the grand line, and decide to postpone any future planning for the future as there is no guaranty that I would be able to able to execute the plans that I already had made, and making any more with the assumption that things will simply work out is quite foolish.
And so, after eating a simple and enormous meal and noticing that it's already nearing the middle of the night, I take out my whisky bottle, fully intending to drink myself to sleep.
