“I am ready!” Carl shouts, getting confused nods from Agazuul and Lixiss. There was a brief pause, where Carl just stood there as wrath made flesh charged at him.
“Whatever you’re going to do, do it quickly!” Agazuul shouted but Carl didn’t seem to hear anything Agazuul had to say.
“Kordaminak! I call on thee, lend me your strength and you shall have my body!” Carl shouted, surrounded by runes he’d drawn in the air; most of them dark elven runes. Two reversed s’s with a line through, the rune for possession, a shield within a seven pointed star for protection but Lixiss could not read the other runes floating near Carl as he drew out one after the other chanting in a demonic tongue.
“No you don’t!” Scortas shouted, revealing himself to be atop a platform alongside the northwest pillar. He reached out a hand to cast torpefying magic at Carl, but the runes had formed a bubble around Carl at that point and the spell fizzled out against it. That cocky smile that had been there ever since the trio set foot in this room had for the first time disappeared. Just what kind of magic is Carl calling up? Lixiss thought, but that was all she had time to ponder as Demise&Devotion came at her; her devotion to Neva’Coh’Etriel allowed her to resist their attempts at glamor magic and her skill with soultaker allowed her to keep the macuahuitl from hitting her. If this wasn’t a magical sword it would’ve shattered at the first blow. Lixiss thought. She allowed herself to go into automated defense to get a good look at Scortas. He was well endowed, had periwinkle skin, eyes of pastel purple, short white hair and a very lean body. Why is he up there instead of facing us down here? Lixiss wondered before drawing her attention back to the fight at hand. Just as wrath made flesh would’ve clashed with Carl, there stood something else entirely. A devil of such enormity as Lixiss had never seen, its eyes were motes of red peering out from behind a face contorted in animalistic fury, one wing of red on a body as black as darkness itself, wrapped in dark brown linen wielding a sword of flame.
“Carl?” Lixiss dared ask but the being did not answer her call, instead the creature called Kordaminak set its attention upon wrath made flesh.
“Watch out!” Agazuul shouted to Lixiss and just in time as Lixiss had nearly missed the chance to parry. Agazuul had taken to charging towards the green devilborn.
“Your friend did it, for the gift I gave.” A harsh sound rattled from the ghoulish face, she was sure it was laughter.
“What can I do for you, that you’d murder Agazuul? I can see that you don’t want to be without your lower body for the rest of your life…” The words were sweeter than honey; they sounded so enticing even in their harshness. She could feel the powers leaving her again, spurned away by her doubts.

“I have but one thing I want, and you stand in the way of it!” Lixiss shouted as she started striking back harder, each strike empowered by Neva’Coh’Etriel. This put Demise&Devotion on the defensive. A death gurgle came from across the room, but Lixiss’ focus was squarely on this fight; her faith unshaken, her devotion not to be doubted. Anger surged through her and with that anger came the blessing of The Spider Duchess. Her blade drew in every light from the room making Lixiss a mote of light in a pitch black space; before unleashing it all at once, blinding Demise&Devotion for just a moment. That moment gave Lixiss all the time she needed to get her empowered strikes in. Boiling blood spilled across the floor, and just as Lixiss was to strike the killing blow; six doors opened. The sound of six doors slamming open all at the same time took everyone aback, a momentary pause in the battle ever so slight. It gave Demise&Devotion enough time to wrench Soultaker from her grasp and toss it across the room. Out of the south western door came a horde of skeletons bearing weapons, some charged forwards while others drew their bows back to unleash a volley on Lixiss’ location. She darted out of the way quickly, thankful for the powerful legs she got in her blessing. Demise&Devotion only needed to flap their wings once and they were up on the platform by the eastern pillar, but Lixiss had no way of stopping or interacting with that as she became beleaguered by the charging horde of skeletons. One strike than the next, each breaking apart a half-dozen skeletons only for more to take their place. The volley of arrows didn’t seem to let up either but they just changed targets. Carl or Kordaminak whatever they were now didn’t seem to take much notice as they wrestled with wrath made flesh but she couldn’t be sure that would remain true.
“I got it!” Agazuul screamed, giving Lixiss just enough time to see him disappear through the southwestern door. The skeletons that were circling Lixiss backed up all of the sudden. Who is controlling these? Lixiss thought as she kept her sword in a ready position waiting for what came next. The skeletons had gathered in a half circle at a bit of a distance from Lixiss; she used this small moment to catch a breath before dodging out of the way as Demise&Devotion slammed their Macuahuitl where she had stood. Demise&Devotion had several gashes sweat upon both brows and even the gentle face seemed in agony; blood pooled around them, they were on the offensive now, each strike coming almost twice as fast as before. Lixiss found she lacked the capabilities to match their speed. Every fourth strike struck true, Lixiss got some gashes of her own. To make matters worse, the skeletons closed in from behind. Lixiss changed her stance removing her ability to parry and instead going for wide arcing swings. It proved almost fatal as the Macuahuitl sent chunks of flesh flying tearing off her right cheek. The skeletons fell quickly and that was the only opening Lixiss required as she made her up on the western pillar. There has to be something on these platforms. She thought. Shocks of pain shot through her before she realized where it came from. As she found a cauldron with a pink liquid she saw the cause of the pain. The right cheek was torn to shreds, allowing her to see her teeth with mouth closed. Lixiss reached a hand towards her cheek imbued with godblood magic. The wounds over her body closed themselves but unless she overextended some were going to leave a mark. She stared at the liquid before cupping a quick drink unsure of the wiseness in this decision.
