Ape!?

Lao Yun abruptly woke up, finding himself in a new body, that of a black-furred and disfigured ape. Countless scars marked his skin, silent witnesses of battles past. A shadow of pain permeated his consciousness as he realized that half of his left hand was missing, probably devoured by some ruthless creature. His senses sharpened as if awakening from a long sleep, and he began to try to understand the situation he was in.

Lao Yun's tired eyes scanned the surroundings, struggling to adjust to the sinister darkness of the cave he was trapped in. Only a few rays of sunlight seeped through a crack at the top of the rocky abyss, casting small sparkling beams amidst the shadows. His body was surrounded by a macabre heap of bones and bodies of similar apes, all with an impressive stature of at least 1.78 meters. It was a disturbing sight, a silent testimony of bloody battles fought previously in that place.

Lao Yun noticed the marks of rough, blood-stained claws that covered the walls and floor of the cave. Upon closer examination, he realized that some of them had also been left by himself during his fight for survival. The acrid smell of blood filled the air, fueling the sense of imminent danger.

A shiver ran through Lao Yun's body as he became aware of something even more disturbing: giant footprints of a supposed feline marked the ground around the bodies. A chill went down his spine as he realized that there was a predator lurking in the darkness of the cave. Although he didn't know when or how it would strike, the urgency and threat felt palpable.

A low growl echoed through the rocky walls, reverberating through the underground chamber. Lao Yun instinctively shrunk, seeking refuge amidst the bones and corpses, while muffling his own breath with his remaining arm. Seconds dragged on, filling the air with unbearable tension. Minutes passed until the sound of heavy footsteps and a rustling became more audible to Lao Yun's ears. The hungry creature was approaching the place where he hid. With each careful step, Lao Yun's heart seemed to want to leap out of his chest.

A deafening roar erupted in the cave, terrorizing Lao Yun's thoughts. It was in this moment of anguish that his survival instinct kicked in. He rose from his hiding spot, grabbed rocks around him, and hurled them with all his might towards the imminent threat. However, his effort was in vain. The sabertooth tiger, majestic and terrifying, advanced calmly towards him, indifferent to Lao Yun's desperate attempts to defend himself.

Adrenaline pumped through his veins, momentarily numbing any pain that the relentless battle could inflict on him. With a quick movement, Lao Yun launched into a desperate run, trying to escape the dark fate that awaited him in the predator's claws.

The scarce light revealed a narrow gap, a mere crack in the cave wall that seemed spacious enough to allow his passage. However, Lao Yun was aware that diving into that opening could further damage his body. It would be a painful choice, but also his only chance of survival.

Without hesitation, he threw himself into the fissure, scraping against the sharp stone spikes as he crawled through the narrow corridor. Darkness engulfed him as he crawled, uncertain of what he would find on the other side. The angry roar of the tiger echoed behind him, mixed with the sound of the predator's claws striking at the rocks around the crack, in a display of fury.

Finally, the opening widened, and Lao Yun emerged on the other side, finding himself on top of a small mountain of rocks. A few meters away, a towering forest stretched out, with gigantic trees that he had never witnessed in his homeland. A deep silence enveloped him as he absorbed the grandeur of the landscape before his eyes.

However, his awe was quickly accompanied by a wave of despair. Giant creatures, similar to herbivorous dinosaurs the size of mountains, fed on the branches and foliage of the trees. Lao Yun's heart raced in his chest, a mixture of wonder and fear, as he realized that he had entered an unknown world, full of dangers that defied any notion of his previous reality.

Lao Yun realized that he was in a hostile, dark environment, filled with creatures of terrifying proportions. His journey begins in this new world, where life is a constant struggle for survival, and secrets await to be unveiled.
