CHAPTER 1

            "Josh!! I kept your cereal and the permission slip on the dining table!! Now hurry up and get moving already!!" I yelled to my little bro who's still getting ready for school when he is supposed to wait for the school bus to arrive. "Whatever you do, don't miss the bus like yesterday." "I'll try!!" he answered back.  Yeah right, try. I checked the time. Carter, my boyfriend, is gonna come here any minute to pick me up to drop me at the Immortal palace ruins, a tourist spot, my workplace. I work as a tour guide over there. Honk... honk... ah, he's here.I was about to leave when I saw Josh seeing TV when he's actually supposed to hurry to his bus stop. "Josh!! Stop watching Naruto and pack your bag!!". Carter was getting really late now. He shouted "Aimee! Are you coming?". God, I was late. I hurried out of my home and saw him leaning on his expensive car, waiting for me. He checked his Rolex (yeah, he's stinking rich) and raised his eyebrow. "Sorry for being late" I automatically responded."Whatever" he replied. Really? I apologised and all he's got is a plain whatever? However, I kept quiet because 1) he's my boyfriend and 2) His car is my mode of transport. I quietly sat in his car. There was an awkward silence. None of us decided to break it. After a long(and awkward) drive, I reached my stop. 

             I saw my friends in the cafe near our tourist spot. I briefly waved a goodbye to Carter and walked to my friends."Lemme guess, another fight with Carter?"said Marlene. She is like my best friend. "Yeah". I started narrating the whole incident. "Why do you even put up with him?" asked Taylor."Yeah, break up with him. He expects you to treat him like a king just because he's rich."Ryan added. My stomach spun listening to their words. A part of me says that maybe they're right. but I don't know why, I just can't do that.But Carter is always annoyed on littlest of the things and it doesn't just work out between us. But again, I can't, I just don't wanna. Okay, stop this war inside. Just forget it, I thought. All of us drank a latte and chatted for some time and  finally returned to the tourist spot. The spot opened and the tourists started coming over. I took my first group of tourists around explaining and then I reached to the side of the immortal palace which was near the forested area which was forbidden for tourists. I started to hear the same noises I hear every day whenever I reach this place. But today, these noises seemed to be louder. Like every day, I had a hard time trying to explain at this place but, like every day, I managed to evade these noises, explained nicely and made my clients happy which is a trait of a good guide. A pat on my back, please. 

          After tour guiding three to four groups, the time for our lunch break came. Me, Marlene, Taylor and Ryan generally sit together in the cafeteria. "So you're saying that you heard those noises again?"Taylor asked. I nodded my head briefly."But we all take our tourists to that spot and we never heard any sorts of noises. I mean, that forest is deserted " Ryan said dramatically. Generally, Marlene always takes my side but she was supporting Ryan this time."Yeah, he's right. Mr.Brown (our boss) even sent some people in there to see if there was something wrong in the forest when you told him about the noises. But what did they find? nothing. You need to take some rest, hun" I was just fed up of that noise and all my friends are telling me that I'm just imagining that noise? Then I finally decided to do something about it."I'm going inside the forest the find the source of the sound". "What?!?!" the three of them said in unison."No!! you can't!!" "That's quite dangerous!!" "Isn't that place forbidden to go?" I answered all the three questions calmly "Yes, I can, Its not that dangerous, and that place is forbidden for tourists, not the guides". I finished my lunch quickly and headed for the forest.

            I reached the forbidden forest, jumped over the 'No Entry' sign and entered the forest. Not gonna lie, It was kinda scary. I mean, deep woods, being alone in it.... Anyway, I started hearing those sounds again I started following them and reached to a place where I could not see the yellow 'no entry' tape.The sounds were now at its maximum level and I was sure that the source of those sounds was somewhere around here.I followed the sound and it lead me to a rock covered with many leaves and vines. I couldn't understand. The noise was coming from that rock. Confused, I leaned on that rock. Or I at least I thought I did. But, there was no rock. I fell through it and realised that it was a secret tunnel. I nervously crawled into that tunnel. A long way, but I eventually managed to get to its end. The I saw the source of  the sound. And I was shocked. Are you ready to find out? I'm sure you are. So here goes.... the source of the sound was the magic portal. If you don't  remember, the magic portal was made by the three sisters for all the magical creatures to go to Algeshia and if you don't remember what's Algeshia, please refer to the prologue. Anyway, I was really scared and shocked. Slowly and cautiously, I moved towards the magic portal. But looks like I went too close 'cause I  was sucked into it."Aaaaaaaagghhhhh" I was screaming like hell. My head was spinning and I felt like throwing up. It was too much for me to take. I fell unconscious. And don't ask me what happened next, I don't know, I was unconscious.

          "Ughhh" I slowly opened my eyes and thought that this was just a nightmare until I saw the surroundings. I was on a bed in a tent. I saw two people entering the room. I quickly shut my eyes and don't ask me why. It is just an old habit. One of them started to speak. "Lady Sena, these creatures were found the following week near the magic portal ". Judging from the voice, she sounded immature, like an eighteen or a nineteen-year-old girl. Then this 'lady Sena' or someone spoke."Hmmm, a squirrel, a bird, a mouse....." She sounded disinterested until she reached my bed.".....A human?!? Do you know what this means?! Do you think that she could be the one??" Then the immature girl spoke unsurely "Well... She was unconscious for days now. I mean, an average Novern (Noverns are those humans who have magical powers within them. These powers can be unusual but extremely powerful) who would fall unconscious while passing through the magic portal would maximum be unconscious for a day or so but she... seems to be a very weak Novern.... There is a chance that she could be the one, though". I could not take it any longer "What the hell are you talking about?!?" I shouted.

             "So you were awake and were listening to our talk. Ah, and Lora, join her in the training and help her in it, as soon as she completely recovers." said Lady Sena. I quite didn't understand what she said. I tried to ask her but she ignored me and left the tent. Then, that immature girl came to me and asked"Are you feeling better? 'Cause if you are, then I have to enrol you in the training". "Who are you?"I asked. She wasn't expecting this answer"Umm, I'm Lora and I am nineteen. And how exactly did you reach here?" I answered "I used to hear weird noises from the forest. I went into the forest to find out the source of these noises. I leaned over a rock and I fell through it and went into the tunnel and found some kind of magical thing and was sucked into it". My words led her into deep thoughts and after a few minutes, she finally opened her mouth."Hmm, I think I understand what happened. You are in Algeshia right now". I couldn't believe my ears"What?!? How did I reach here?!?" Lora calmly replied "The reason you were hearing these noises is because of the magic portal. It was recently opened by someone who was not the three sisters and the only other creature who has the power to do it is Ifrux, the leader of the demons and the monsters. Seems like he is planning something new to overthrow the sisters. Something big. Something dangerous for Algesia as written in the fate of Algeshia. Anyway, because you are a Novern, only you of all the people could listen to the sounds produced by the magic portal when it opened. And regarding the 'The one' we were talking about, there was a prophecy written by Lord Krios in the Divine book of destiny that the ' the one' who's supposed to be a Novern will either save Algeshia and Seal the demons and monsters forever or will become the right-hand person to Ifrux. You could be the one but you're....... kind of weak, really weak" I took a deep breath and asked, "So, is there any way I can get out of Algeshia?" Lora answered in a disappointed manner "Of course not, until the three sisters take this matter into their own hands and that's only gonna happen if you impress them with your valour. You might remember Nylyn, the camdyn tribe leader, right? You should something brave like him to get  acknowledgement from the three sisters" Really? "So you're saying that I have to die in order to go back to earth?" "No, you should do something brave"
