“You will need to roll a D12 for damage,” Said Tim from behind the Gm screen, the short man’s eyes looked at Maddie, the woman looked frustrated as she was checking her character sheet trying to find a way to help her character.
Giving up after a short minute Maddie groaned, she reached to the middle of the old pool table they were using for their tonight session of D&D, The dice was cast on the table and it was a nat 12.
“ohh? hell yeah!” Maddie got excited as she lunched up from her seat and raised her right fist while striking a heroic pose and said “‘The infamous Farleen, Queen of the Shadows saves the day again” making the other players chuckle at her antics
The Gm sighed and rolled a dice behind his screen,
“Arukg the Schemmer takes 12 + 5 points of damage from your backstab bonus, he is heavily wounded and appears to be dazed” the Gm then takes a shot of vodka and downs it. “I hate you guys for these new rules for Drunken Dungeons and Dragons”
Anton chuckled and with a slight Russian accent said “what is the problem Game Master, don't you like our new and improved D,D&D?” the young Russian reached to the middle of the table and uncorked the bottle of Grey Goose before pouring a new shot to the Gm.
“It was fun to see you all get shit-faced and do crazy one-shots here and there, who was the genius that thought the Gm has to drink also?” mumbled Tim with a raspy voice, Tim then noticed all the players looking at Anton who was sporting a shit-eating grin. “I fucking knew it.”
“Alright, I have used all my actions but I still have movement, now that I’m not on stealth anymore I have double that, so 30 feet, I move my character behind the turret before ending my turn” Maddie smiled from ear to ear while she leaned back on her chair.
The D,D&D session continued for 2 more hours and the college roommates were barely conscious at this point, with three empty bottles of high proof alcohol stashed under the table and people on the verge of blacking out the session was over.
“I will walk you to your place” Anton who was holding his liquor better than everyone else said to Maddie and Jen as they were about to head to their apartment.
“no need to do that comrade Antonovich, I think we are not that wasted,” said Maddie with a slurry voice while reaching for her final shot only for it to be snatched by the Russian man who drowned it with a smile. “you bitch!” said Maddie with a hiss while glaring at him with a very angry face expression, she only could keep that face for a few seconds before she burst out laughing and tapped the Russian thieve on the shoulder.

*ahem* Anton then rose an eyebrow and pointed at Jen who was barely able to stand up having drunk the most that night since she had some fairly bad saving throws.
“fine, fine, I know you won’t shut up so let’s go. you are worst than my mom” Maggie was helping Jen walk while they headed for the door.
As Maddie, Jen and Anton were heading towards the door Mark realized he needed to make a run to the 24h corner store.
“Wait up guys, I need to buy some pepperoni pizzas from Old Man Jesus at the corner store” Mark grabbed his baseball jacket and tapped his pockets to make sure he had everything with him.
“it’s pronounced hay-SOOS,” said all the drunk friends at the same time then laughed at their inside joke.
“good to go,” Mark said as he unlocked the door.
“make sure to get some tomato juice too” Groaned Tim while laying on the couch trying not to puke “we will need it for the hangover tomorrow”
“copy that,” Mark said before closing the door.
Soon they reached Maddie and Jen’s place, it was less than 3 minutes away from their apartment, right next to their college.
“I will see you in class Monday guys!” said Maddie as she dragged Jen towards their apartment door.
“make sure to drink water before hitting the hay” Said Anton while waving at them.
“Yes, Dad!” Maddie answered as she rolled her eyes, making Anton chuckle
“good night,” Mark said as the duo of wasted women disappeared behind their door.
The autumn nights were getting chilly and they could see how they were leaving a trail of vapor each time they took a breath.
“Shit, it's starting to get cold” This made Anton chuckle, Mark half smiled “nothing like compared to your hometown right?”
“Nah, it's just you Americans don't know how to dress for cold weather” the Russian man had a coat instead of a jacket.
After buying the food they made it back to their apartment and placed everything inside the fridge. Anton was making some Chai at the stovetop while he lit a cigarette, Tim was nowhere to be seen, you only could hear light snoring coming from his room.
“I’m gonna get some shut-eye. see ya tomorrow” Said Mark as he headed to his room while the Russian man just waved at him without looking
“night” Anton said and Mark closed his door behind him.
Alone in his room, he walked towards his bed, without taking off his clothes he dropped on his bed, and soon after he drifted into a dreamless drunken sleep
Anton stayed up for a bit longer, he grabbed his cup of tea and opened the door to the balcony, he left it open to let some fresh air in while he sat next to the little table they had in the balcony,
He sat there and looked at the stars while drinking his hot tea and enjoying his smoke. slowly he felt his vision blurry, he tried to get up only to lose his balance dropping his cup, his hands reached his head, and soon after his vision faded to black, him barely recognizing the fast approaching ground as he was collapsing.
Anton floated in the void for what seemed an eternity and at the same time just a few seconds before regaining consciousness slowly. not fully comprehending the extent and seriousness of his new circumstances.
