Epilogue
I was practically bouncing with excitement.
“You’re not excited at all…” Fen teased.
“Oh hush!” I whacked his arm gently. “Just unlock the door already!”
My fiance turned the key in the lock, and threw the door open.
I pushed past him, excited to see the place where I’d be living.
Sidhe and Stroopwafel maowed in greeting, running to brush up against my legs.
“Hi babies!” I giggled, kneeling to pet my fur babies. Axl had brought the cats there earlier in the day so they could go ahead and settle in. I surveyed the front room. “It looks nice! The movers did a great job, everything is in a good spot!”
“Yeah, it looks good.” He nodded, looking around.
“You like it okay? The cream furniture is alright?”
“Yeah, of course! Magic makes getting stains out easy, even on couches and stuff. Besides, I wanted you to pick what you liked.” He shrugged.
Diana maowed sleepily, stretching as she walked up.
“There’s the queen!” I giggled as she pranced up to Fen and demanded pets.
He bent, scooping her up. “Let’s see the rest of the place.”

We walked through the house, ooh-ing and ahh-ing at our new place.
After the Brand debacle, I realized that I didn’t want to live alone. Not only was it safer for me to have someone there, I didn’t want to be away from Fen like that again. Of course if he had business trips and whatnot, I’d be fine for a few nights, but I’d probably just get someone to take me to the manor and I’d stay there, with all the company of the servants.
I walked through my bedroom, and he through his. All of my clothes were already organized and put away.
“The bedrooms are nice.” I told him as he entered the room. “I love the walls!”
“Well, you said you wanted petal pink.” he shrugged, smiling. They were indeed a very pale pink.
“Yeah.” I smiled, but faltered and looked down, feeling embarrassed at what I knew I needed to tell him.
“What’s wrong?”
“I…as long as…we just…snuggle and kiss and sleep, we…could sometimes share a room.”
Fen blinked. “As long as you’re okay with that, absolutely.” he shrugged.
“It’s not all physical affection that I’m not interested in, Fen, it never was. And I do like being close to you.” I said softly.
“I like being close to you, too.” He came closer, slipping his arms around me, and leaning down. My fiance paused, giving me the chance to pull away if I didn’t want a kiss. But I very much wanted him to kiss me, so I leaned forward, and he did.
He broke away, smiling. “I have something else for you.”
“Oh?”
“Here.” he produced a velvet box, “I got your engagement ring, and we enchanted it.”
“Oh!” I giggled in delight as he opened the box, revealing a lovely opal ring.
“Opals are supposedly bad luck for engagement rings, but I thought it would suit you.”
“That’s just an old superstition, anyways!” I giggled, delighted with the ring.
“Do you like it?”
“I love it! Opals are my favorite!”
“Good.” Fen smiled, he knelt, taking my hand and replacing the prototype ring with the engagement ring. “There.”
“I love you.” I whispered.
“I love you too.” he grinned.
