A camera zooms in to a man sat at a desk in a red room while thumping music plays.

“Good evening, this is BBC World News, I’m Michael Kyle. Our top story tonight involves the discovery of a new species in Japan. Our Japanese correspondent Youji Itami is on the scene at Kamakura Yuigahama Beach.”

The camera switches to an Asian man stood on a beach, in the background of the shot is a large white tent that is being frequented by people wearing full bunny suits. Police surrounding the tent are keeping onlookers from getting too close to the tent or the workers.

“Thank you, Michael. It was shocking this morning when people woke up to find a ‘giant monster’ on their beach. Scientists are baffled by the strange appearance of what appears to be a large shark that bears a striking resemblance to a pre-historic shark known as a Dunkleosteus.”

“Scientists have already confirmed that the animal suffocated, however they have also discovered plastics in the animals throat. Scientists continue to research the animal, trying to discover where it came from.”

The camera briefly shows some photographs that were clearly taken on smartphones of the animal dead on the beach. It’s a large creature, perhaps thirty meters in length. It has bone armor plating over the first quarter length of its body, covered in thin leathery skin. Some areas of the fish were smooth, and others scaled. One photo, in particular, showed a grown man next to its open maw. It appeared he could fit inside quite comfortably.

The feed finally cuts back to Michael in the studio.
