Once upon a time, there was only one being in the universe. The being, known to some as the creator or origin of all things, lived alone in an endless nothingness that would become the universe. The being had felt boredom in this endless void and decided to create something. They reached out their hands and created two realms, one filled with magic and blessed with their powers, known as the Ancient Realm and one without magic, known as the New or Human Realm.

Afterwards, they created the light and the dark. They continued to create until they made the land and oceans in both the realms. They made plants and animals, and forests and deserts. Both the Ancient and Human realms had flourished with life.The creator made creatures intelligent of pure good that were blessed with their power and magic and named them the angels and creatures with intelligence and their blessing but without magic and named them humans. The creator made it so that the angels to stay by their side and guide the humans to be good and peaceful.

They left all of their creations in the Ancient Realm from where they could closely watch them. The humans lived in a paradise called Eden, which was guarded by the mighty dragon Custos, and lived in peace and prosperity and the angels lived in a place called Heaven with the creator and watched over the humans. The creator had let the humans live freely with his only rules being for them not to desire magic and his powers for themselves and not to harm any magical creatures.

Years went by and everything was peaceful, but one day a young angel had a thought why do the humans live in this realm of magic when they don’t have any magic themselves. The young angel decided to play a trick on the humans and invited some of his friends to join him.

 The sly angels disguised themselves as snakes and approached the humans. “Hello humans”, they said. The humans were shocked by them as they had never seen a talking snake. The disguised angels assured the humans that they meant no harm and that they were just some magical creatures. They taunted the humans for not having magic like them, which made some of the humans angry. The humans started thinking and decided that they also wanted magic, but one of them reminded the others about the rules.

The snakes started talking again and told the humans that if they were to drink the blood of the dragon Custos who guarded he gates of Eden, they would be able to have magic. The humans were skeptical at first this but the snakes had managed to convince them. The humans went out of the gates and lured Custos near them. A human girl named Eve was the first to stab her spear into the dragon’s flesh and the other humans soon followed.

The dragon had felt betrayed by the humans that he had protected for so long and gave out a blood-curdling roar. The other angels and the creator, had heard this roar and went to see what had happened. What they found was the first act of defiance and betrayal to occur in history.

The creator was furious. They had found out what had happened between the young angels and the humans and had decided to punish them all. “Humans, I have let your kind live freely in paradise with all of the joys life could offer and only asked two things of you and yet you have betrayed me and gone against those rules”, they said. The creator reached out their hands and spoke again “From now on and until all eternity you and your descendants will be banished from Eden and the realm filled with magic”.

And so, the creator made their judgement and the humans were banished to the realm now known as the Human Realm, a place without magic.

The young angels who had disguised themselves as snakes were laughing at the humans and felt satisfied that their trickery had worked. But the creator was aware of what they had done.

“Young angels”, the creator said. The angels were shocked that the creator could recognize them. “I created you all to guide the humans to be good, yet you all have instead lead them to the path of wrongdoing.” The young angels were now fearful and trembled at the Creator’s rage. “From this day forth you will no longer be angels and receive my blessings. You will all be banished from heaven from now till forever more.”

And so, the young trickster angels had their blessings taken away and had started to morph into horrific creatures. They were now demons. Banished from heaven they had taken refuge into a part of the Ancient Realm shrouded in darkness and began to build a kingdom that would rival heaven, that kingdom is now known as Hell or The Demon World.

After all that had happened with the humans and demons, the Creator had begun to feel tired. Their final act was taking their most trusted angels and turning them to the first Archangels who would help keep the balance of good. Then the Creator fell into a deep sleep and still hasn’t awoken to this day.

After the Creator fell asleep, the angels and demons had begun to fight over the Ancient Realm. Many wars were fought over the millennium and through generations with either side winning or losing. But the Ancient Realm wasn’t only home to the angels and demons, there were other magical beings like fairies, elves and dwarves who also lived there.

Sick of the wars, some kingdoms made up of beings that were neither angels or demons decided to side with neither and instead become neutral. The other kingdoms that were not neutral had sided with either the demons or the angels, this is the start of the factions. The Demonic Faction, The Angelic Factions and The Neutral Faction, all lived together in the Ancient Realm trying to survive with each passing season.
