It was already starting to rain outside as Mark was eating dinner. With the temperature this low it was probably snowing up at the facility. It wouldn’t be a very heavy snow, likely wouldn’t start sticking until later in the night, but it would make the perimeter check more interesting. For a moment Mark considered making Les do it alone. Why not? She would have to be doing it alone the next time she went. At that moment he realized that he had a unique opportunity. With Les there tonight, assuming she showed up, he could have her watch the lobby during the break hour, while he could get some alone time in the labs.

The thought went from a tempting idea to an imperative after just a few minutes consideration. He likely wouldn’t ever get another chance like this. The only question now was what do with the time he had? The break was an hour, but that time could go fast, and not all of the techs always took the whole hour. He’d have to plan something else as well, some kind of additional distraction to get him as much time as possible alone in the lab.
