The screen flickers on in front of you as the show starts with a raucous applause, hoots, and even a few whistles as everyone's favorite Goblin struts out into the spotlight.
"Hello! Hello to you all my dear, dear, moneybags...I mean lovely customers! Thank you all for taking the time for the planar premier of the Numinous System!" He looks into the camera and winks, his lips curling up in a sly smile as you can almost see the glitter of gold coins glimmer in his eyes. The crowd roars at this, "Chug! Chug! Chug!"
Enjoying the spotlight as he always, he gives a grand bow and when he stands up again he snaps his fingers. A throne made of nothing but gold and jewels appears behind him as he flops back into it kicking his feet up into the air only for a gemcraft table made from a single ruby to appear to prop his feet on. A moment later a hot cup of, what you hope to be coffee, appears next to his feet. You could swear that you could see bubbles gurgling at the top and it wasn't steam...It mostly reminded you of sewage. With him apparently very comfortably he holds a single finger to his cracked lips to hush the crowd as they instantly. You can't help but notice that he has a very apparent coke nail while doing so. "Yes, yes, I know I'm the greatest Goblin to ever exist. As you all know while I would happily bask in your adoration at any other time, I have someone else to introduce, the trailer, and then your money to fuel my drug habit. So little time for us Goblins after all. GOB! GOB! Get in here and tell them about Numinous. I don't pay someone like you to look at or for your company you dingleberry of a Goblin!"
Out of the darkness another Goblin appears and steps into the spotlight. This so called Gob looked like a mess. He had slick greasy hair, no ear piercings, bad posture, his clothes had a clear sign they had just been tossed on at random, and his glasses had tape and a chipped frame. He seemed to be carrying a random assortment of papers that all had mathematical equations... Maybe more like chicken scratch but you're sure you could see something that looked like it might be numbers... to someone. No applause came for Gob the Goblin as he scampered to the side of Chugs gold throne. Chug snapped his fingers again and a wooden stool that was really more like a stepping stool appeared right where Gob was supposed to sit. With a sigh and pinching the bridge of his nose Chug continues, "Yes this is the second part to my company... I don't blame you for not applauding either. Well, moving on from the disappoint that is Gob's presence. Let Chug & Gob Incorporated present you the trailer for Numinous System and my first game Draghoul!"
A single woo went up from someone in the crowd as Chug was millimeters away from snapping his fingers when Gob pushed up his glasses and somehow croaked out in a cracked and small voice, "Hold on Chug, HOLD ON!" wheeze
"We need to tell the customs about all the systems! After all I..." "We..." "Uh... we made these systems from the ground up! You said that you wanted people to rediscover what it was like discovering a new fantasy setting with no power gaming creep or decades of DnD knowledge to rely on! You even told me that you want to make sure that they understood that even though this is a game, that it wasn't any different from their own reality! That just because their consciousness imagines their flesh body and stinky non magical world around them doesn't mean that it's any more real! "shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" Chug holds up his crusty coke nailed finger to the rambling goblins mouth sitting below him.
"Why are you like this Gob? This is why you've never been laid and no one likes you. Please for all the living, just shut up." With a dejected look the smaller, clearly not as handsome, and very much inferior goblin, slumped even more in the stool and looked at some of the papers he was holding clutching them like they had been the most precious things to ever exist.
"Oh come on don't be that way, they can read about the "game" systems and all that nerd stuff you came up with when you post them to our GobNet website. Stop pouting, you act like I found your rat in an ally way and smashed it against the door of the hunters guild because some buffoon of a Goliath broke the doorknocker. I hate when you do that, makes me think I TPK'd you and the rest of your party by abandoning you in a quarantine zone filled with mutant werewolf monsters."
Gob gives a sly awkward smile, "Ohhh yeah I remember that story you told me, It was pretty good campaign for a moment from the sound of it. I mean that ending where you said you got stomped on by a giant wolf creature while hiding and you said that it instantly killed you haha. You said that the Earthlings call it a yogurt stick and it was coming out of both your ends.... uh, why are you looking at me like that Chug.... I.... I didn't.. Id... Ididn.. I ddidn't know it was a secret swear!" You see chug slowly get up from his throne, snap his fingers to see a long wicked looking dagger appear in his other hand and with a maniacal look, leap upon Gob knocking them both into the darkness with only the echo of Chugs laughter and the sound of well, I'll leave that to your imagination.
After a few moments of static the screen comes back to Chug sitting in his Throne again shaking his knee up and down restlessly as you notice a bright spot of blood slowly pooling into the spotlight. Tracing the blood you can also see a goblin foot doing little spasms here in there as it's source. "Without further adieu, The Numinous System and The World Of Draghoul!" With a snap of his fingers, it goes to black, then you are blasted by light and the serene voice of a goddess. "Welcome, I've been waiting to see you again."
The following in-game footage is not the final product, Chug and mostly dead Gob hold no legal responsibilities for any trauma you might go through while playing the game. Chug will not refund any money paid for this service. In fact to even become a tester, Chug will require a reliable witness of some demonic or holy entity from your universe to finalize the pact contract.

Numinous System, Ready Player
The screen turns to static after the white light and voice disappears. You get this odd sensation as you now embody another player, maybe even the first one. As the player looks first at his hands and seeing them transparent energy, he looks up to see a winged... person? In a suit behind a desk. On all sides of him, and what seems to be endlessly down this corridor in both directions, are doors. Some have odd colors, some are different material, some are more ominous, while others still seem to almost radiate energy. As you look up at this winged individual he can't help but appreciate his fine dapper suit of pure white with a black undercoat. His buttons and jewelry are gold... his skin grey... his finger nails black. You look up upon what you hope would be his f... NUMINOUS SYSTEM ERROR/23... /Run ERROR TIME. REBOOTING.
Next you are falling from the sky in vast space as a soul crashing down upon this new world, you can see a single sun, no other stars in an endless blackness, 7 moons of different colors vibrating...pulsing with energy, almost as if they breathed it in and out. When you finally orientate yourself to the planet you can tell this player is happy about the trials being over and seems excited about the future. The planet is a beautiful thing to behold. Massive continents, mountain ranges, and a good portion of it covered in white clouds. You can see the same sort of "essence" or "breathe" that surrounded the moons, but where each of them had their own unique energy it seemed like all had combined here and so much more! As soon as your body hit said essence your consciousness fades, well this players does. They end up in a world of light and warmth and noise.

You can hear the creaking wooden boards of this house, the crackle of the fire, the heart beat of... Your vision clears, and you see a smiling mother and father look down upon you golden eyes, blue skin, red tattoos, and horns. You might have called them Demons, and some still might, but you knew them from Numinous. Under Worlder, the races of the world when it was barren and abandoned, crawling out from the planets warm core regions to take back and maybe heal this once lost world. The trailer is speeding up now, visions blur by while you can tell only small snippets. Of you training hard with your father to be good with an axe against trees and man. Your mother teaching you how to hunt, sneak, and cook. You quickly start to notice that no skill is useless, and unlike other games, there was no levels outside of these skill groups growing with the level of the individual skills you had been using within them. Until the day came that you made the choice to leave home, and go about on an adventure! You didn't feel scared, after all everyone had taught you this is a fine place as long as you don't adventure away from civilized lands and hid underground during the E... ERROR.... ERROR... Rebooting System, Intruder detected, Firewall Active, False Flag.
Upon the images flashing by you could see a world filled with all the fantasy life you knew and loved, and much that you hadn't seen before. The sheer scale of the castles, cities, palaces, trees, mountains, you even thought you saw a colossus or maybe a titan walk in the ocean while you sat on a beach enjoy the sun. You fought all sorts of things, you had no magic, but you continued to grow your skills, build friendships, find lovers, overcome rivals, get embroiled in the events of city life and take breaks from adventuring here and there. You even had children at one point, finally after decades it seemed you would be venturing into the wilds for something. A sword from the first people that came from Sol itself, that helped the moons hatch, and built cities upon the dragons backs in the cosmos before coming here to heal this land. The Highlander Races. Some would call them, human, and angels, and all sorts of... odd and somewhat creepy things. Oh, how sometimes you wish you had not set out on this path, had simply enjoyed this world for what it had given you. An escape into a beautiful fantasy life... but no, you needed more. You had to be special, you had to go into the forgotten places, to trample where gods and things much worse still dwell. How foolish you had been, if only you had not tried to lift the veil, to look at the shadows that dwelt on the edge of your vision. Mercy is for the blissfully ignorant, for there is no mercy here. Not for your mind, your body, or your soul.
Visions flashed through your mind, of you standing deep in a chasm, years searching for a source of godly, or ungodly power. One of the moon spheres from the initial creation of this world lay in front of you, breathing the essence of creation itself in and out of it's pulsating floating form. You begin to reach out for it, to take the power in ancient and unknowable. You feel an odd sensation, as you look down towards your feet that had been in a shallow pool of water. However you no longer see in reflections on that liquid surface, only darkness, and in that darkness hands reaching to pull you under.
Is power worth your fall? How much are you willing to sacrifice?
Again your vision blurs and you are transported to a new scene, of the edge of the world, as mountains covered in rolling fog and water goes on and on around and bellow you. Ahead as you continue your climb, dark storm clouds linger above, yet it's bright. Blindingly so, as your eyes adjust and you come haul yourself up the final ridge to a flattened platform of earth, floating buildings surround the source of that bright light. An arching doorway stands before you made of stone that towers into the sky above, as large as a mountain itself, inside this portal was a land covered in fog, but with bright blue cloudless skies ahead. You start to stand as you ready yourself to go into the shimmering mists.
Do not follow my path, there is no salvation here.
Another Vision appears as you are now in a dark swampy forest. Hands trembling, the giant ancient trees surrounding you begin to groan. Your mind begins to scream at the horror crawling from the darkness at the top of these silent ancient observers, how had you not seen it before coming here? It was something of pure marble, with root like tendrils of hair and clawed fingers longer then your entire body. Two pairs of arms as it crawled down to meet you, most alarming was the fact it had no eyes, no mouth. You knew what this creature was, and it knew you... for when it spoke it spoke in the deepest layers of your mind.
You do not understand what you seek, the power corrupts, the Eclipses change everything.
Again the world fade and returns, older now, more wary and worn. You travel alone down a winding path between broken and sharp spires of stone along the ridge of a mountain. The world begins to tremble as you stop, no longer surprised or horrified at this world you can only stand resolute in the path you have taken in this reality. The mountain is alive, as the winding path begins to rise into the clouds above you, emerald eyes pierce through them as the giant head of the dragon you had once believed a range of mountains turns it's attention on your tiny mortal form.
Nothing is as it appears, trust no one, including yourself.
This time you are standing in air, holding yourself up by your manipulation of the essence of this world. No longer will you be weak, no longer will you require physical might, your will shapes realities. Before you in a crystal clear lake stands a Colossi Progenitor, The Lady of the Lakes, The Widow of White, The Mother of Moon Awoken. Nothing disturbs her slumbering form, taller then any castle , her body completely marble as her long elongated arms reach straight through her chest from her back. Out of the whole both her hands hold a glowing, pulsing, tear of the moons. The power to become a god.
Moon Awoken, Sacrificed, Eclipsed, Crowned Ones, Progenitors, Colossi, Forgotten Ones, Dimension Doors...How many times have I failed? I was never enough, I don't know if I ever will be.
Finally you are in a dark room, almost like a prison, but this feels different. Almost like you are no longer having visions of players and past events, that you are here. Light from a grate entrance above you pours into this prison. In front of you a corridor of teeth, the smell of death and blood. You look around in horror, the walls, even the floor, is made of flesh as faces morph and move along the surfaces. Opening mouths in silent screams for sickly ichor to spew from their eyes and long tongues to reach out and taste you. Still you do not move, and you slowly turn your head to the dark doorway you had seen before. A white smile of fangs is seen there now, as it get's closer long black taloned fingers stretch out along the doorways entrance, the flesh like wall begins to rip as the face of this monstrosity gets closer and closer. You can see old blood leak down it's rotten grey skin. Eyes of pure crimson shine at you now, the smiling mouth now grins. "I finally found you, lost soul, Numinous is wrong in thinking you can escape my reach in any reality." with that said, the mouth opens wide and lunges at you faster then you can react. Your vision fades.
Someone save me from this nightmare, death isn't an escape, you simply change. Not even my dreams are safe anymore. Hear this, when the Eclipses come, if you can see it with your eyes as the last of Sol's light in this place vanishes... It is too late...Stay the farmer, be the trader, live as a slum rat. Do not lift the veil of this place, for it will see you, seek you, change you, devour you, become you.
