After he slowly opened the reinforced door, Leo was blinded by a light and felt whisked away.
What? What's happening? It’s like I can see everything.
Leo tried to close and cover his eyes with his hand, but his body failed to respond.
I can’t move. What’s happening?! Why am I on the ground? I need to go home and get help. Wait, where is home? I know I'm Leo, but who am I?
He was left disoriented as he saw everything in a 360-degree. The realization that he couldn't move was like a bolt of panic. His fight-or-flight instincts kicked in, and with nothing to fight, he had no option but to flee.
He suddenly jumped and crashed into a tree with a strange wet thud sound and fell in confusion.
Why doesn’t it hurt? How did I move like that?
He couldn't believe what he had just done.
He tried to breathe to calm down but realized he hadn’t breathed this entire time. The shock of this realization left him overwhelmed. Well, I can move somewhat, and I’m not hurt—at least, I don’t think I am. Nothing seems wrong with my condition; everything is just strange.
While he looked straight, or at least in the direction he felt straight, he focused. His 360-degree vision started to shrink, which allowed him to see further with complete clarity until his sight completely cut off at a certain point, unable to see any further. A strange thought crossed his mind, and he feared it to be true.
It can’t be that I’m a slime, right? I’m supposed to be a human.
After he jumped around the forest for a while, he came to a significant conclusion.
I’m a slime. HOW? WHY?
As he learned that he was a slime, his jumping ability, while still awkward, improved noticeably. Right after one of his jumps, an arrow pierced the ground where he was.
“Thwung!’
“Damn! I missed!”
Wow! An attack! Where are they?!
After he noted the direction of the arrow, Leo ran in the opposite direction as he zigzagged between the trees. As Leo crashed into another tree, he saw an arrow before it penetrated the tree above him.
‘Thwung!’
Holy shit!
After another frantic jump, Leo looked back at the archer. In the moments before he jumped again, he barely saw the young girl who ran after him with a worn bow.
It looks like there's only one archer. Is she a hunter or adventurer? I need to figure out how to lose her.
A faint background sound that was always present but easily overlooked gave him an idea. He turned towards the sound, and his path became more linear from the archer's perspective.
‘Thwung!’
The arrow painlessly struck his body as it barely missed his core; however, the momentum caused him to spin as it got stuck in his body.
Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!
The archer quickly closed the distance and drew out a long knife.
‘Swoosh’
Leo jumped into the air and felt the rush of air as the knife passed below his body.
“Damn, slime!”
The young archer cried out and continued to chase after Leo. She was close enough that Leo could hear her exhausted breath.
She's tired. She must be desperate to go so far for a slime.
He quickly approached his destination, and Leo couldn't stop, so he trusted his resilient body and made a great leap.
‘Plop!’
After he dove into the river, he was pulled by the river as his natural buoyancy pulled him to the surface. The young archer stopped outside the river as she leaned against a tree. He moved twice as fast in the river, and she quickly left his sight range.

There's no way she will catch up to me, but I'll wait a couple of minutes before leaving at the opposite bank.
After he waited a few minutes, he tried to leave the river but didn't know how to control his body in the water. He only managed to land when the river made a large curve, and he got pushed into some rocks that he used to climb to the vast and rocky bank.
That was scary. I thought I might be trapped until I got pushed into the ocean or lake.
After he searched his immediate vicinity, he found a couple of small crabs on the desolate, rocky, and wide beach.
So now what?
Over the next couple of hours, Leo enjoyed peace as he basked in the warm sun while he came to a greater understanding of his body. During this time, the arrow stuck in his body dissolved, and the arrowhead was pushed out. After he carefully considered his situation, Leo reached an important conclusion.
Slimes are the weakest monsters. If I don't want to die, I need to learn how to use my body to its full potential. I should prioritize increasing my combat ability and ability to escape. I can't forget how easily ambushed I am with my limited vision.
As if on cue, three figures formed a triangle around him as they appeared simultaneously.
Wha!? Goblins?! They surrounded me! They planned this!
Goblins are short and vicious humanoid monsters. They are the weakest monster after slimes. They stand around four feet and have little intelligence, although they use simple violence more than their limited intellect. They tend to use sticks and rocks as weapons. Some lucky few may find dead adventurers and pillage their weapons.
Luckily for Leo, none had metal weapons, while only two had sticks.
You want to fight!? Fine, let's fight! I'll wipe those grins off those hideous faces! Let's see how you will hurt my slime body with a stick!
Leo was a slime and had no memories, but he still knew one fundamental rule of combat.
Start with the weakest link!
With his greatest leap yet, Leo slammed straight into the face of the fat, unarmed goblin.
“Ghaa!”
While not enough to cause noticeable damage, the attack caught the fat goblin off guard and fell backward onto the rocks. Its head hit the ground with a dull thud.
““Graa!””
The goblins grew outraged and raised their sticks with a battle cry as they charged. Before the tallest goblin swung, Leo slammed into his left foot midstep.
“Gah!”
The tall goblin dropped its stick to catch itself on the rocks. The skinny goblin continued its attack and hit the tall goblin across its back as it caught itself on the rocks.
‘Gaa!”
The fat goblin stood back up, enraged. Some blood was left on the rock where it hit its head. It rushed towards Leo as the tall goblin got back up and yelled at the skinny goblin.
Leo led the fat goblin away from the others towards a boulder on the far side of the rocky bank.
Perfect.
Leo carefully considered his placement and waited for the fat goblin to reach him.
Now!
Leo leaped at the boulder and immediately jumped off it, straight into the side of the goblin's head.
“Gah!”
The fat goblin collapsed, and Leo was attached to its face this time. Leo kept its eyes closed while he blocked its mouth and nose as he attempted to suffocate it.
Die, you goblin bastard!
The fat goblin panicked and tried to rip Leo off its face. Leo’s body immediately repairs itself as the fat goblin’s claws tear through his body.
Leo only had to carefully protect his core as his body was stretched more than usual.
His body also significantly reduced its muffled screams, while Leo could still somehow hear the fat goblins as it yelled desperately.
It wasn't long until the fat goblin stopped its struggle as it lost consciousness, and shortly after, its heart stopped altogether.
Whew.
As Leo detached from its slightly dissolved face caused by a slime's natural ability to dissolve objects, Leo released a mental sigh and approached the two goblins. When they appeared back in his vision range, they appeared on the brink of a fight.
I could use this.
Leo created as much distance as possible, and as predicted, the goblins attacked each other. The tall goblin struck first and left four deep scratches on the skinny goblin's face with his claws.
“Gah!”
Stupid bastards.
The skinny goblin dropped its stick as it grabbed its face in pain. The tall goblin grabbed the skinny goblin’s shoulders and bit deeply into the side of its neck.
“Gaaaah!”
The tall goblin took a chunk out of the neck of the skinny goblin and pushed it backward. The tall goblin mounted the skinny goblin and used its fists and claws until the skinny goblin died.
“Graaaa!”
Leo watched passively as the tall goblin shot its head back and released a victory cry. The victorious goblin looked back down, used its claws to cut open the skinny goblin's chest, and pulled out a tiny crystal shard.
A mana shard! Monsters get stronger by eating mana shards and crystals! I can't let the shard go to waste on a goblin!
Leo reached the goblin before it could swallow the tiny shard, and he jumped on the tall goblin's face. The mana crystal lay nearby; however, Leo impatiently waited for the goblin to suffocate before he detached and jumped on the shard.
The shard slowly but surely dissolved in his body, and he felt the mana strength ingredient in him by a minuscule amount. When Leo finished, he greedily looked at the goblin he just killed.
Now, how will I collect my prize?
After a long time, he completely dissolved the chests of two goblins and their mana shards. After Leo finished some tests, he found that his vision and jump distance had increased slightly. The mana shard strengthened him, and the goblin flesh was broken down into energy and stored in his core. He added to his energy reserves, which had slowly depleted. Leo absorbed the rest of the goblin corpses and felt his energy reserves grow significantly.
He noticed how his surroundings had grown colder and knew that some stronger monsters hunt at night. He tucked himself between a couple of large rocks. His body doesn't tire, but the same can't be said for his mind. As soon as Leo tried to fall asleep, it was as if his mind shut down, and he fell into a deep sleep.
