Century's Wisdom

Century's Wisdom

“Is this the evacuation camp?” I walk to a big church, I see some soldiers guarding the place.

“Mister, is this the evacuation camp?”

“Yes, how did you just come here?”

“I was hiding inside the basement.”

“Oh, poor girl, you are safe now.”

One of them opened the door for me. I walk in and start seeing the surroundings. I then noticed my uncle sitting with a bandage covering his body. I approach him.

“Are you okay?”

“Not really.”

I sit beside him. I saw Cassia and Aunt sleeping on the floor, Mister Rondo applying some balm to their bruises.

“How about you?”

“I died once.”

“What do you mean?”

I lift up my coat and reveal a round-shaped scar. Uncle and Mister Rondo’s faces become grim.

“Can someone explain what happened? Are they really demons?”

BANG!

A loud voice came from the door as it was pushed open. I saw the vampire saint walk in.

“Luke! Did I not warn you to not use pain gathering again? How dare you use it again? What if this time the odds are not in your favor? Just hold them as usual and we will be coming!”

“It was urgent! Everyone will die if I did not use it!”

“Just escape! Why do you all knights keep fighting until you die? Hit and run strategy exists! Are your brains starting to rot because of using that skill?”

“……..”

“You Rondo, I know you are old, but please, learn fire magic! Stop mastering only water element! Learn basic fire magic! See what happened because we have no fire magician? You all can’t even penetrate his first layer of armor.”

“Sorry Saintess.”

She then sighed.

“Area Heal.”

A big magic cycle appeared on the whole church floor and people started to heal. My scar slowly went away too.

This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

“You guys prepare a report for Overwhelm. Tell Cassia too when she wakes up.”

She then walks to me.

“I have made another seal for you. Wear this if you want.”

She handed me a blue pendant.

“Thanks.”

“This one doesn’t seal that side of you, so be careful with your mind.” She whispered to my ear.

The door opened and a big figure walked in. He is so big, I thought he was a bear walking in. He has short hair, a full beard, and wears a white colored uniform.

“Beatrice, how is it here?”

“Everything is okay. Numbers three, four, and seven managed to hold the demon to not spreading too far.”

“Good job. I will add a bonus to all of your payments this month.”

“Thank you, number one.” “Thank you, Titan.”

“Luke, I told you once again and the last time, we knight’s duty is to protect the people, not the city! Leave the battleground if everything is out of control! A scared knight is better than a dead knight! You are making a shame of Reynold by your action!”

He was only talking normally, but his voice was so loud.

“Stop it, Rabahar, you will make everyone wake up.”

“We will inspect the town hall. In case you need something to say, I will always be there.”

They both then walk to the outside. Beatrice stopped at the door.

“I want roasted turkey. Make sure you prepare it for your wedding party, Luke. Congratulations!”

The door closed back.

“Uncle, I will go first.”

“Yeah, be careful.”

I open the door and run to both of them.

“Excuse me.”

“Hey Luke’s Niece, what do you need?”

“Are you two the strongest?”

“We may be stronger than most people, however, there are more people stronger than us.”

“That is true. Also, we are this strong because I am a giant and she is a vampire. We are over hundreds of years old. Never rush to become strong, be aware you are the strongest eight-year-old I have ever met in my life. Be happy with what you have.”

“It is not about my satisfaction! It is about my survivability. In less than a year, I almost died four times! I keep training my magic so I can survive better, but I still almost died today!”

“You can live at the palace then. With your talent, I think the king will accept you as a sponsorship.”

“I am not suitable as a noble. I cannot hold my mouth at all. I am too ignorant of other people's perception.”

“Let me tell you something. Your uncle destroyed a noble kid's house because he got annoyed. Your aunt flooded out some noble orchard because they talked shit about her. Your father sold some noble pet to a butcher because they scammed him. Anger issues are always in your family anyway. That is why Greydoll is still a baron. Just do whatever you want, okay?” She then opened her bag and took out a book. “If you want to become stronger, I can give you my notebook.”

“Are you sure, Beatrice?”

“Yes. She is the most suitable to read this book too. Finally, this 200-year-old book has another owner!”

I open the book and am surprised by the content.

“Thank you…”

“No, no, thanks to you I finally have some weight to lose from my bag. Always tell your parents how you feel, okay? Find something to relieve your boredom too.”

“Don’t act heroic like your uncle. His sense of justice is too high. It might kill him one day. I hope Cassia will make him know how precious his own life is. Are you satisfied, little girl?”

“Yeah.”

“Then we will go. Let’s meet again in the future.”

I hold Beatrice's book and look at it.

“This is the first time I have complained about my life to someone.”
