Day 0:
It has been around 40 days since I became one with the new body. But something is wrong, very wrong. The first thing is something I had heard of from other souls in limbo, the place you wait to get a new body, but those had only ever been unconfirmed rumors. There is no way it could possibly be true...
But, then, here I am, actually in control of my body for once! If it were just that though it wouldn't be so off. In case you didn't know it takes around 6 to 9 months for a Humanoid to be born, depending on the species such as Elf, Orc, Human, you get the picture. However, it has only been 40 days and I feel almost ready to get out of here. 40 days! and I have lots of siblings too. I am unsure of how many, but there are quite a few.
Perhaps I merged with the runt of the 'litter' for lack of better words. The most underdeveloped fetus of the batch.
But no, if that was the case I wouldn't feel ready to come out. The mysteries are getting more and more complex.
Oh? Something has changed. I am not almost ready, I am ready! The surroundings agree as I feel the liquid around me start to convulse, and drain. My other siblings start to go out one by one, until its finally my turn...
POP! I'm out. that wasn't too dramatic. Seems my mother is healthy at least, despite having so many children. Must be because our size is small.
Ara? I can't see! I start to squirm about trying to figure out what is going on, when finally a huge hand grabs me. It isn't unkind, but it handles me rather roughly. I am wiped with some form of cloth, and then set next to something really warm. I feel the instincts of my body start to take over, and I let them, as I have no clue whats going on anyway.
I feel my body start to probe for something, sniffing the air and slowly crawling towards something that smells, well, it smells like something indescribable. The best way I can put it is it smells like home, safety, warmth, and kindness all wrapped into one thing. As I was pondering this, my body had made it to the source. My body opened its mouth and grabbed something. It started to suck at it insistently, and something warm began to flow into my mouth.
MILK!
Unaided by my instincts I began to hungrily suck out the milk, for the moment it entered my mouth I realized I was ravenous. I suckled for some time and then fell asleep.
Day 1:
I wake up and find that I still cannot see. It doesn't feel like there is something wrong with my body, so it may be natural for this species. I listen to the instincts of my new body, and begin to feed again. After feeding I was once again exhausted, and fell asleep.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Day 4:
I still cannot see, but I figure it must be natural for this species, otherwise I would most likely have heard some form of worrying noises. For that matter, I have noticed a lack of most intelligible tongue, except for some random sounds from high above that appear to be a language. However I have yet to hear my mother speak, in any form.
The past three days I had been exhausted after feeding and waking periodically, however today I feel less tired. I decide to play with my body for a bit to get used to it.
First off it seems I have a tail, as well as four legs. I do not appear to have any arms, and walk on all fours. Quiet honestly I am confused, as I have never heard or seen of a sentient species that has those traits. Well besides Dragons, but unless the dragons here are wingless, and have fur, then I doubt I am a Dragon.
Well I guess I had better start exercising my body. Its never to early to do so. Never know when some freak accident will occur, and leave me all alone. Hmmm, I guess first I will start by practicing to stand, and then walk. Mobility is extremely important. After that maybe I will start practicing using my other senses besides my eyes...
Day 7:
The practice with my senses has started to show some results, unlike my physical training, which was alright, but difficult to do without sight. I can now tell that I appear to be in a huge stone room of some kind, as well as the fact that the creatures who tend to enter and exit this room do not seem to be of the same species as my mother and siblings. I hope that my species isn't some kind of slave species to this other species. Other than their larger size, I can tell by the sound of how heavy their feet hit the ground, I have Identified them to be at least 10 times larger than my mother, but it seems to vary, as I have heard voices that are lower to the ground by a good difference then others. Perhaps more then one species lives here together?
OH?! My eyes feel different! Maybe I can finally see?!
I open my eyes but quickly close them due to the bright light. Well, brighter than the near absolute darkness there had been before. I start to slowly open my eyes and let them adjust to the light. They adapt fairly quickly which surprises me a bit.
However what surprises me the most is the appearance of my mother...

Sorry the chapters are a bit short right now =) I promise they'll get longer as I have more material to work with =)
