Prologue

Cries of help and mercy echoed through the winter night. Blood stained the blanket of snow, when the Queen rushed to the nursery, her pale face, glimmering under the moonlight. She slammed open the door, and found a dark mist hovering above the gold and silver crib.

“Take her to the mortal realm.”

“But my Queen –“the dark mist interjected.

“There is no time. They are near. Please keep my child safe. You’re the only one I can trust in this matter Litae.”

A loud knock interrupted their exchange.

“Enter,” she ordered.

The knight dressed in red armor kneeled. “My Queen, they are coming near. Olympus and the Mighty Zeus had fallen, so did the Underworld where Hades resides. Tartarus may still have a chance – but even Kronos had already considerably weakened. We had tried to shelter as much refugees as we can but –“

She clenched her dark silken robe tight, and stared at the mist with teary eyes. “Please Litae, you have to save my child. Lucifer will be with you.” She gestured to the knight.

The mist didn’t answer – but had started to move aggressively, and was suddenly in the shape of man. Litae took the swaddled child from the lavish crib, and looked back at the Queen’s completely black eyes.

“Silas is in the mortal realm,” the Queen hurriedly said and waved her hand. “My daughter will be safer there. Lucifer,” she said to the knight. “Protect my child and Litae. Now go.”

The mist, and the knight disappeared into the shadows of the night, before the loud crash came. The Queen looked up into the empty night sky – which seems to be looking back at her and smirking.

From her feet, dark mist and smoke began to gather around her, dressing her in armor and preparing her for battle.

She looked back at the empty night with a grim face.

“Hello, Father.”
