Before I start:

Board exams are over and it’s COVID-19 Pandemic period. In this lockdown I may not be able to complete first chapter of my mathematics book but I will try to complete this story with my efforts. I will try to give my best, for the best around.

“It’s just an imaginary narration from someone unknown referred as I ”

1: Profile

“Smile at least it confuses”. Hawkins, 92’. It was just like a vintage American street where everybody loved Tho.mas Magnum. But there was the hero there or may be the villain. Just like any other American kid of course George (the lead) loved Babe Ruth. Every American does….No surprises I guess.   

Before going ahead lets meet:

Natalia: George’s mother. One of the most loving .ladies that I ever know about.

Beautiful, helpful and all other good words that you can put.

Stevenson: George’s father. A respectful man in the society. A great human, not just by titles but with work too.

Now let’s start the story of our ‘hero’, but if I will call him a ‘villain ’instead. You will know later why?

With passage of time may be George got some seriousness in life I guess. Not that much in studies but manageable. Addie, quite interesting guy. A genius, class topper, school topper, state topper and not very far from being national topper as well. Damn serious when comes to studies but a friendly body after all. Then comes Punter, a great comedian metaphorically. He was just too bad with his jokes….but a studious one. Not much problems in life and got supportive parents. Let’s meet Barry, a handsome guy with some awesome hair. Apart from this a good performer and a rich guy with a rich heart. Now it’s time for….No not the villain you know him. Aren’t you? It’s Cody. George and Cody were good friends but Cody played as the younger brother. Last but not the least Zack, the best soccer player in the school and the most fashionable one.

2: College Days

School went like a train with no brakes dancing all around and writing songs thereby. Four years later …. Harvard’s…Yes the villain was there. Cody also read there, both of them where interested in same objects, actually subjects. They were still in touch, everybody. Now something interesting was about to start form here …

Cody broke up with his 4th girlfriend, no it was 9th one. Reason? She didn’t like hamburgers, stupid as all in past. Now George it was George’s time to bear up the boozing cost of Cody and he did like every time. In the bar Cody looked someone with some other glaze and told George:”she is the one!!!”.Although George was not able to recognize who is the speaker here, Cody or the 6th wine shot, but he saw something really different this time in Cody’s eyes. W, W and W can make people do anything. The first one is wine; now let’s wait for the others. Deep down George was thinking what could be the reason when he will break up this time.

That night Cody was in complete hangover and was just asking for one more sight of that girl as if George could go back in time. He continued his request until he found her in the dreams. And guess what she was in the same college as they did. Cody was cloud nine and got butterflies in his stomach when he saw her in reality. Now he started behaving like a perfect gentleman. Just a conversation? George couldn’t change him even after spending years with him, but who knew a conversation would be enough. The second one is woman from the Ws. 

3: Apart

George and Cody passed out with good marks. Cody was supposed to took his dad’s business. He went towards his county. Dory, that gentleman turning girl went to another city to pursue her PhD. For sometime George missed those tequila shots. But it’s not the good-bye that hurts it’s the flash back it follows. You have to accept the truth no matter what it is.

George moved to Dallas and applied for the placement. Few days and he got the job. He was living a good life but not enjoying it. It was like you are in a journey towards destiny but without any company Most of the people forget you when you aren’t close but Cody was not such both were in contact somehow.

4: The Unexpected

Yes it was unexpected but one should always expect the unexpected. George’s parents where no more. The beautiful couple passed out in a tragic car accident. The car hit the divided very hard. The villain couldn’t even recognize him during the autopsy. God can be harsh sometimes but who has escaped the fate. George was an serious addict of all bad things. Cigars, alcohol bottles all were spread all over his dark room. (Villains have such characters didn’t they?) May be he was breathing them and closing the long whistle. There are two types of pain one hurts you and another one changes you. This accident did both the work. It was difficult for his friends to see all these. His eyes didn’t have that brightness anymore. He forgot how to smile. Rough patches come but is there any guarantee it will go. People can share problems but what about solutions to it, if one can’t give you solution better save your energy. After these entire he was still good professionally, he recently won the employee of the year award. But was it enough?

Days turned into nights and nights became darker. Blood constantly came out from his mouth. When something exceeds its limit, an internal sound vibrates in your mind ’STOP’ otherwise the game will be over. Cody wanted that George should get some counseling classes from the pope of the St.Vincent Church. A very flamboyant speaker. But it wasn’t productive. George was an atheist by now. The tragic accident was the reason why didn’t believe in god anymore. If he didn’t change his habits he very soon going to die .It’s not a deal to love someone but it’s if you are mad for. Don’t fall in love with anybody because anything that falls breaks down.

5: A Dream

Maybe God came in the dreams of George and warned him about his condition……..Who cares because he was healing .It was like a dead plant was having soft and new leaves growing by in the hope to get the softest of the sunlight. Was it hope? Nobody knew what it was. George was recently assigned as the project head and Rachel was her partner. Brown hair, black eyes. A lovely smile and dimples on both sides which was just like a kid’s which can easily go through any boulder in the way. Was she an angel? Don’t know may be…..

His friends decided they will be in close to George until he recovers completely. And there was a decent development. It’s now no big deal to know for whom it was. George and Rachel had a great run both professionally and personally. Her words, her smile, her beauty, her tone….It was the medicine for the villain. George and Rachel brought laurel to the company. They spent a lot of time with each other and this was the reason of their success and also the reason why the villain healed up. Yes you have guessed it correct the love story has started. In words of George:

“Whenever she came to meet me through the front door of the cabin. She looked like the most beautiful thing I could ever see and gave me satisfaction than any other thing. I loved when she tied her long hairs in front of me…I kept watching the perfection created by the supreme and from somewhere my name used to echo like I am in the foot-hills of a tranquil mountain and someone was taking my name with the sweetest voice. But it wasn’t any mountain or echo she was calling me for the 4th or 5th time I guess, who cares the count if I am satisfied. It was like a daily routine, I used to travel to the cold mountains and come back to reality within a minute. I knew somewhere deep inside she…..No, no I don’t know anything. The sharpness of her angry eyes and the soft chicks which where I guess because I never touched them. She looked gorgeous in formals. Was she better than Phoebe Cates? Yes she was, at least for me without any doubt…..I like me better when I am with you, starting from the morning coffee and all the hours talking I like me …I like me better when I am with you! Slow music with violin in background, what I am supposed to enjoy the present or the last night’s conversations…”

While everybody started laughing at this Cody was about to spit all the coffee in his mouth but somehow controlled it. George always replied you will tell the same once you feel it. Well Cody knew if there was a Noble prize for love the winner was standing in front of him. After remembering the good old days George headed towards a new project. George and Rachel had to move out for few months. It was like a long date like thing for them. They used to cook together and lived together. The money they saved by not paying rent for another room was used during the weekends enjoying the sunset views. Both of them liked “Terminator” and Arnold Schwarzenegger. He got very good biceps but it was not the same with his name. Yes, it was unique and that’s why people know him. Everything was going good and time passed like it light, it happens when you are around your beloved, time accelerates.

6: One More Time

Finally after three hectic months both of them where coming back with their team way back to home. National highway-09 and glimpses of the past. It was the same highway where George’s parents passed away. That’s why George hated this road. Life is never a piece of cake for every good time there is always something uneven waiting but I don’t know about the converse. It was his fate or whatever it was, the car collided with a truck and went rolling down towards the divider of the other lane and crashed there. This past doesn’t let anyone go so easily away from it.

George got back his sense after a week long. His left leg was fractured. His shoulder was damaged but it was curable. Oh! Jesus the hour came back to the same number. The first words after George’s consciousness were:”Where is Rachel, is she fine.”At that moment he don’t cared about his injuries and wanted to rush to her. When you long for comfort in any other soul its love. Cody directed him towards the room where Rachel was and George started smiling….He had faced this for the second time. He was confused for which one he should cry harder. It was the ward where dead bodies were kept……..She was a just a dead body by that time .Due to confusion he started smiling. He silently walked towards the terrace as he knew it was of no use to ask how and when this happened. George’s eyes turned red and he was smiling and crying at the same time why anyone in the earth will do that? Why it’s that confusing? With the sorrow all around no one noticed George’s absence until Cody did after a minute. He went running towards the terrace as he thought the villain was going to attempt suicide. Luckily it wasn’t the fact.

George was looking at the sky. Cody came from behind and he put his hands George’s shoulder to comfort him. Taking heavy breathes George said: “Look at the sky. Isn’t something missing? The moon is not there. Maybe playing hide and seek. There are millions of stars out there; still it isn’t that much satisfactory. When you love somebody from your heart, body, mind and everything, the person becomes your moon and all others are equivalent to stars. Once you lose your moon you feel the loneliest and even that millions of stars seem to be valueless. You are just broken completely both mentally and physically. You start destroying yourself. Sometimes people forget to be happy even when the reason of happiness is in front of them, but when they realize it’s too late…”

George’s words where very powerful. It was true that he lost his moon. Any other would try to move on from her and search a new moon but, the villain wasn’t from there counts .He always used to say-“She is the one or no one else in the world”. There are rare cases when someone gets such a loyal guy. After spending a week with George, everybody left. Addie was a family man now. He married a few months ago to beautiful soul, Maxine. Punter still got his bad jokes but he didn’t say any of them that week. Brian got his job a month ago and the party was still pending. That time, Zack was giving his trials for the Houston F.C. everybody moved after saying bye. He was lonely, but who cares he was already.

7: Silence

After some weeks everything looked normal, but it wasn’t. How it could be? George was still in doubt about his reality. Sometimes your heart needs more time to accept what your mind already knows. He rarely spoke to anybody. He was still going well with his job. With promotion now he had seven figure salaries. Music also couldn’t make him feel better. He only used to hear the music drops and music drops only.

Every new person he meets thinks that this person is having a great life just but he doesn’t want to reveal. But none of them knew the fact. Whenever somebody asked him about his life George always replied:”My life is like a bad dream and death will wake me up…..”

Like every weekend his co-workers went to the nearby bar to hang out and he was invited as always and he also denied them as always. His co-workers could only see him in the office hours. Nobody knew if he liked being lonely or he was nuts. He always thought why he is still breathing? He lost his family and also his love. Well he realized that he still needs to something which he hasn’t. Realization is okay but is it enough to heal what one has dealt with?

8: Good News

The first good news came from Addie; very soon he was going to become a father. The happiest moments in a man's life is giving somebody else the happiness of becoming a father and himself becoming a father. Punter and Brian work in the same office and they were going good. After giving a fantastic performance in the trials Zack was selected for Houston FC. The manager was so impressed with him that he was named as the captain of the team within a month. He you got some awesome skills in his Arsenal he used to bend it Like David Beckham, he had good control like Zidane, shoot like Adriano, dribble like Ricardo Kaka and finished like Raul and captained like Carles Puyol. His dream was team was the ‘galacticos’. Cody's company has now production units in near about 30 States. Everybody decided to enjoy and celebrate this collective achievement. George also joined them nobody, knew he was happy or not but whatever it was thought he wasn’t showing. Silence speaks when words doesn't. He was totally reaction less. If he was walking in a corner of the street and from the other end sound of bullets would be audible who just look out for a moment and give a confusing smile and walk away. Has he turned heartless or maybe he has learnt using his heart less. One becomes very dangerous when he had been controlling his feelings. Everybody feared that as a result he shouldn't turn into a merciless highest, murderer, criminal and all such. But a soul like him would never do such things.

9: Realisation

George realized that no one is immortal to lose. He come a long way, very long way. He clean shaved after a long time, still there was something missing. Now he didn't care even when anybody hurt his feelings because he didn't have any. He decided to do something he wanted to give somebody his smile, well he hadn't smile from a long time. George now lived in a very small house, a piece of formals, a watch which Rachel gifted her and a bike. This was everything he had.  The villain donated most of the money from his astounding salary to the old age homes and orphanage nearby. The sun was rising once again but everybody knew the slot is still empty and no one could ever replace her. Actually every person has their separate places in somebody's life and it hurts when people judge somebody on the basis of comparing any of them. It hurts more when that individual values a lot. But it’s better to keep the mouth shut and appear stupid than opening it and removing all doubts. He wanted to donate all his organs after his death, what a person even when is soul would leave this world his heart will be still beating in somebody's body, his eyes will still see this beautiful world. Even now God wasn't very much satisfied. A group of man attacked him in very dangerous way one night; actually he was having some official papers regarding his properties. Wealth it is the second W. It can make a man do anything. There was a big cut just under is left eye. Even after all this he smiled….!

10: Flashback

After his office hours he regularly visited the nearby orphanage and enjoyed spending time with those children. Sometimes he also used to teach them and told stories. From the very first day of visit he, got strongly connected to one of those kids every time he tried to ask her name but you something would happen and he couldn't. Due to those kids now George could sleep well in the nights. One day he saw a dream, she was Rachel, she came and told –“Hey, see I am back and I am not feeling good by looking at your condition so I came back. I am very happy that you are spending quality time with these kids. I am very lucky that I got somebody like you. Next time when I will meet, I want that you should smile from your heart and I want you to feel its warmth.” George was about to touch Rachel in his dream but suddenly he woke up. The very next day after the officer he went to the orphanage and somehow got closer to the kid and finally he asked – “What's your name?” with the most heart touching voice that he had heard before she told with utmost pleasure-“ Rachel” Is she reborn?

11: Trackback

“Smile even when you have many reasons not to.” A world tour was not a bad idea to bring back life to the right track from time being nature is the greatest healer. Loneliness and nature together brought back the shine into the eyes of George. After coming home George invited all others for reunion, within few days everybody reached except Zack. He was with his team for the domestic Cup finals. Addie was blessed with a daughter and name her was Ariana. Punter was now the head of his company and Brian was the management director. They planned to go to the beach the coming weekend and on Sunday they will watch the domestic cup final at the Houston F.C. stadium. Cheering Zack. They did as per they planned. Houston F.C. won the final. Zack provided an assist in the game. For now everything was going good, before leaving Addie suggested Brian that, he should search for a girl and marry her because it was high time and he needed a good company. Everybody wanted he should have some future. Brian agreed, he was sure that he had some future but of what kind we didn't know.

George was in Sweden for the last couple of weeks for some official work. He was enjoying this Swedish tequila and somebody took his name from behind, for a couple of moments he was astonished would now his name from the place where he never visited before. She was Kristen; both were classmates in the High School back in Hawkins. At last he met somebody known. After some basic talks, George asked what she was doing here actually Kristen and her family moved there for her higher studies. Both of them shared their contact numbers and left. After reaching to the hotel George called Cody and said about the meeting but George didn't knew that Cody was the person who told Kristen that he was in Sweden.

12: New Moon?

 The next day both of them went to watch a Swedish movie in the nearby theater and then to Kristen’s house for a dinner. George started thinking how she is so good to him because the only instance of their meeting he could remember was the fight in a verbal way back in their school days. For some moment George went to the flashbacks where he was in the first dinner date with the love of her life…..  The time of dusk, beautiful scenery and the Sun was about to set. Soft violin chores from the background and a beautiful lady in front, the night he proposed Rachel then suddenly got back to the reality with a smile. Sometimes the only place you can find happiness is in your own memories. Now he was very friendly to the whole family of Kristen. Walking back to the hotel he was thinking that love is like a rose flower. One has to be very careful from the thorns while plucking it. Some are lucky and precise enough to pluck it without harm but what in case of those who are bearing the pain of the thorns and still trying? Maybe for this reason it’s the most attractive thing.

In a week George was going back to home before that he wanted to explore the city so he called Kristen and asked for a favor. The left early in the evening. To fill their stomach they went to a Chinese cuisine. Kristen ordered ‘noodles without garlic and extra spice’ it was the exact same dish which Rachel used to order during their first project together. George was still very confused, why the things are going back to the same direction. He was back to home, the one used to stay awake the whole night now went to bed earlier and wake up early in the morning. When he used to spend his time with the children they taught him that:” Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” He reminded his childhood… two and two makes four and if it is not 4 you are out of the class…….people don't realize the value of things when they have them and mourn after losing it which is useless. The next day when it was bed time, he took a long breath as if he solved some mathematical equation and started writing something….. Three in the morning and still writing. 

George was now back to Sweden. Kristen arrived at the airport to welcome but this time she observed that George was something different. She accompanied him to his hotel it was Champions League final that night so she invited George to her place. He denied rudely by saying-“I am tired”. She was astonished because she knew he was a football lover and would never miss the greatest rivalry of the Spanish football the El Classico.

13: Fall

Later on conversations:

Kristen: Are you feeling better??? ( 12:41 AM)

George: Why are you asking? (12:43 AM)

Kristen: Just to know are you fine? (12:43 AM)

George: Thanks for asking (12:49 AM)

Kristen: I didn’t get my answer (12:50 AM)

George: I am feeling sleepy (12:54 AM)

Kristen: Take care! Good night….. (12:54 AM)

The next night Kristen was on her way back to home from the office, some people where treating her badly and luckily George was passing by. First fist and a KO the second one got a broken jaw and before third all ran away…..thanks George said Kristen. He then drop her. Before leaving, Kristen asked-“Why you are behaving like that George?. ”George-“I am behaving like what?”. “You are rude”, said Kristen. “Thanks, I know that good night Kristen” said George and left.(Villains are rude,  aren’t they? )

Kristen; Sorry, I didn’t mean that (9:20 PM)

George: Fine (10:49 PM)

Kristen: Can we go for a coffee tomorrow? (10;51 PM)

George: No, I am busy can’t talk to you right now. (10:53 PM)

Kristen; Good night then….. (10:50 PM)

She knew that George was pissed off but she didn't know the reason. After months George was awake whole night. A hard drink brought back hard memory. He remembered his first with first fight with Rachel, that day they went back to home after a very day. Just like every day before sleeping they talked with each other.

Rachel: Very tough day….

George: Yes it was what the plan is for tomorrow?

Rachel: Aren’t you tired?

George: Why I should be?

Rachel: Are you a machine!!!

George: So you love machines right?

Rachel: I am not joking.

George: Who was then?

Rachel: Shut up! Meet you tomorrow

George: Wait, why did you say like that?

Rachel: How will you understand? MACHINE.

14: Winter

It was the first and last time they talked like that. Because from the next day the never-ending no-moon day started. George is still confused why she said like that and whose fault it was. Sometimes a brilliant mind is your biggest enemy. Series of such events continued to happen between George and Kristen. Generally alike charges attract each other but it wasn't the same here. The villain was calm, silent, practical and very much diplomatic to his work and life. Whereas Kristen was a bird flying in the open sky with no boundaries. A happy soul with lots of smile. The next week George was going back home so, Kristen invited him to her home. He and wanted to deny her but he also respected his elders. For this only he went to her house. Got a warm welcome. Kristen’s mom told today Christian has made the food hope it will be tasty; he was still confused she never cooked so why today? He smiled a bit and continued his food. Before bidding a final good –bye, Kristen wanted to talk with George so she stop him from behind and ask before leaving can you say me something-“Why are you behaving so weird? Had I told you something wrong?” George replied:”No you hadn’t told something but I realized that not only your words you are also wrong. I think you know about my past still you are acting as if you know nothing. I thought you are well aware that I don't want your company so I ignored you but you don't, so before leaving I wanted to clear everything. Good-bye. Hope we will never meet.”

 George did what he planned and was successful but deep down still he was feeling very sorry…. Kristen didn't know this was coming. Kristen didn’t know George from that very moment.

15: Loop

2 years later, New York

Kristen was walking down the streets, heading towards a tourist spot. She came there with her husband as it was the part of their annual tour. She marked a girl who was very anxious and roaming here and there may be searching for something. She went near her and asked what happened dear, with sweet voice was but with fear. The girl that I am lost, I am searching my father. She wasn't a local so she decided to call her husband, both took the child to the main office of the spot and announced about her. Within a minute, a man came running and when saw the little girl and he behaved like he has won everything in the world. That was George and his daughter Rachel, he adopted her. He wanted to thanks to one who did all this. The officer directed his hand towards Kristen. Who was in a awe during all this. What a surprise. For some good will he invited the couple to his house for a tea. He left Dallas three months ago. Kristen happy after knowing about George even she didn't want to. Once Kristen got a chance she asked why? Just because you found my daughter not anything else he told. “You are still the same”, said Kristen. “Why should I change?” he replied. He got a call so he left them and headed somewhere. While looking around, the eyes of Kristen fell at a diary. For some unknown reason she got a feeling to read it. Which was like this:”To Kristen, sorry dear I didn't mean any of my actions or my words I know there was something between us. Maybe it was the reason that we ended such. Sorry, but I promised something to somebody hope we will never meet again. The main reason behind my actions was that I didn’t want to go through the same as a before. I feared that it's going to repeat, who don't want good company and you are very good at that, but what I could do something was not getting over me. If would say I don't want to talk with you the you would have taken the blame on yourself so to make you feel that you shouldn't talk to me at all I did all that. A broken thing cannot be fixed no matter what happens. Maybe I just don't want to believe in anything anymore.”

To Rachel:”I am still here but where are you? Isn’t the game over yet? It’s been four years, three months and eight days. With the beginning of that conversation began and new phase of my life that has not ended yet but it will end very soon. If not I will be the reason of the ending, blame me as much as you can at least you'll remember me in some way what can I do? I don't want it, it’s  not the way my heart wants to be in your memories but for years I has always heard to my brain not heart, this time too I will do the same. Till then I always tried to make you happy I could never resist sadness in that beautiful face and I would have done the same now if I could. After breakup I always told you will be happier than now and it was my guarantee and see you really did what I have had and what I have still…a smile and that's it.

Gone are the days when people in the past had some values in somebody’s life. Go with time, you will be successful forget the old world, if you cannot let me at least. But that's not what my brain feels. There is simply no reason why I  should forget you. I am on my way. Easily in some days you will forget me and  you will not for the reason that of some light distance but due to my actions. The days I spent with you where too beautiful I don't deserved.  Everything that starts surely ends. You will not know how I left just the way you didn’t know how I came. You can’t trace a cat’s paw. I may have some different future but for sure you will be in my future not in reality but in my dreams. Now it's time to stop the hands are trembling and they will be not functional. After some time it will stop. Maybe this is or maybe this was the ending.”

He who has a why to leave can bear almost any how…. I got the ‘why’ as Rachel. These words meant to both of you. May be Rachel give me a chance to live but what about what's inside?. It has been digging me over the years, now I cannot fight with anybody. Sorry Rachel I have to leave but I will meet my Rachel what a deal isn't it I will lose my present for the past. I will go a few more days as per the calculations.

16: Hands Down

Last penning before a new beginning:” look at that endless sky doesn't it signify something even in your darkest day and all the darkest hours, stars are there to make me smile. After losing my moon I was in so much grieve that I never realized my stars are still there. Even in all those no moon days the stars where there and twinkling as if there is still hope. But I was naive. I was mad. I was desperate. I was sad. She was light years away from me, but no one else was that closer. A stone started feeling, slowly it was healing. Even a smile can bring a lot, and also it can take. She gave me no reason to hate her except leaving me. Still I waited for something that was not going to happen. I could not buy anything but I paid. Then you happened to me and by the time you will understand I will not be there to give you tissue papers so save the tears. With expression of emotions it’s left behind. Save it, I will be always with you in your eyes. Everything doesn’t end well and neither starts well every time.  Go ahead, move on, stand and do whatever which is right. No-voice will pull you back and remember people leave relations not.  Those were good days. I loved.

 Coming back to my stars, I never realized they made my no-moon nights beautiful. But from now I wish I could maintain some distance from all. Just seeing both my moons for not less than eternity…… what else I need? (Villains hurt people, don’t they?)
