The existence of the world was always a mystery. And to solve those mysteries, the people came up with the idea of a greater power,the Gods. Some believed the world was created by these omnipotent beings. However, there was never any definitive proof. That was not until the fall of ten mysterious monoliths. They were all 8 meters high and 3 meters thick. One stood in the center while the other nine formed a circle around it. There was an inscription on the ceter monolith and it read

"Balance between light and darkness created the world. Humanity started out as nothing. For it to flourish it required the elements. All of it was given to humans to in order to create civilization. However, the balanceshall be threatened and a great calamity shall one day befall the lands. Heroes shall rise to vanquish the embodiment of evil."

This was a prophecy. That was when the people were certain of the existence of the Gods. Below the passage were markings of nine strange symbols like shooting stars in a circular path. The other nine monoliths each had it's own star. The people did not did not quite understand the full meaning behind it all. All they knew was that one day a group of heroes will appear. How many they did not know. Many suspected nine, some suspected seven, and some thought ten. All they could do was wait for that day to come.

Many forces that were in power did not sit idle and do nothing; however, they began to strengthen there forces, training individuals in weaponry and magic. Some even trained in alchemy. All in order to defeat whatever form of evil that was prophesized to come.The phrophecy was passed down for centuries. Some began to wonder if it was just a fairy tale. Some even forgot that there was such a story. However, many kids grew up being told of the prophecy and Dante Zane was no exception.
