I finally came face to face with Death.
In the obscure void of time and space, the palette of indescribable colours, displaying my entire life, I saw her standing there watching the scenes of my life like a silent commuter in a movie theatre
And that’s when she turned around to see me.
I don’t think anyone has described Death in the actual way. Most of the books that I’ve come across describe death as nasty, painful and what not. Others describe Death as a grim reaper who comes to take away your soul, dressed in a hooded robe.
There she was, so breathtakingly beautiful, I had forgotten that I was already dead. She just stood there in dressed in a long, billowing, greyish black gown with bell translucent bell sleeves (oh come on, she’s death after all) flowing all around her, as if almost floating in air. Her eyes were two brown, almost black orbs which looked like black lakes which hid various mysterious thoughts- so expressive, yet so mysterious at the same time. Her long black hair, falling evenly on both sides of her pale face, brought out the beauty in it all the more. She wasn’t wearing any ornaments or any make up, but I guarantee you she’s the most beautiful woman I ever looked at in my life.
I immediately recoiled at first, seeing that I expected an old hag to appear in front of me, but then, when her beautiful pink lips turned into that familiar curve, and I felt myself relax and my legs immediately walked me towards her. And when she spoke, her voice was so melodious that I could hardly believe that this woman was Death herself.

‘Levi Stewart, we meet at last.’ She smiled as she extended her hand.
My hands seemed to have a mind of their own as they shook hers. She seemed pleased, but then her smile faltered and her eyes showed sadness from within, creating a weird feeling within. The colourful void around me had faded and the temperature seemed to have dropped by twenty degrees. Wind seemed to be howling outside and snow was falling outside as if in a blizzard.
‘I’m sorry, Levi, but you need to go back.’
Everything changed. I felt uncomfortable, as if large bulky hands were now pulling me backwards, my insides felt insanely hot, my stomach was numb and all I could feel myself being sucked into a tornado. My head felt heavy, and I began to lose consciousness as I saw red circles in front of my eyes.................
I gained consciousness, but was still dizzy from the after-effect of what the hell happened around me. I stretched my arms and yawned tiredly as I relaxed back on my soft bed.
Wait.
Soft bed?
That’s not supposed to be there.
Heaven?
Nah, how can that be possible?
I pulled off the covers on me and rubbed my eyes. When I could see clearly, I realized that I was back in my own room.
Now that really isn’t supposed to happen.
I reached for my mobile phone which lay there on the nightstand and checked the date.
And to say I was aghast would be an understatement for the screen showed...................
