A Glimpse Of Weakness

Soul Extension:

To extend the soul's reach beyond its typical limits, a user can undergo "Soul Extension." This advanced practice allows the soul thread to stretch further, amplifying the range and effectiveness of their abilities. However, it demands heightened focus, discipline, and mastery of one's soul binding abilities

"They think they know me, that I'm just a spoiled royal who gets everything handed to me on a silver platter. But no one stops to think about what I really want, what I'm really capable of. I'm tired of being seen as a puppet, a mere extension of my family's legacy. I want to be seen as me, with my own strengths and weaknesses. I want to prove that I'm more than just a title. But every time I try to show them, they pat me on the head and tell me how great I'm doing, without even listening to what I have to say. It's like they think I'm just a cute little princess who doesn't know any better. Well, I've had enough. I'm going to make them see me, really see me, even if it kills me. I'll show them what I'm really capable of, I'll show them all!"

Karma's eyes widened in terror as he beheld the unimaginable scene before him. His body trembled violently, his vision blurring, but he forced himself to stand firm, his mouth foaming with rage. Then, his world went dark.

When his eyes fluttered open, he found himself still in the stadium, the crowd cheering wildly. But something was off. The arena, once battered and scarred from their fierce battles, now looked brand new, untouched. Karma's gaze swept the area, confusion etched on his face.

That's when he saw Erich striding into the arena, his long black cape billowing behind him like a dark cloud. Karma's eyes locked onto his opponent, his mind reeling in disbelief. "No... This can't be..."

Erich approached the ring with an air of confidence, his hands tucked casually into his pockets. Karma's knees buckled as he heard the chilling words: "Force field activated!"

"What have you done?!" Karma's voice thundered across the arena, his eyes blazing with fury. Erich's calm demeanor only fueled Karma's rage. "What kind of sorcery is this?!"

Erich's smirk was his only response, his eyes glinting with a sinister intensity that sent shivers down Karma's spine. The air was electric with tension, the crowd's cheers fading into an eerie silence. Karma's heart raced with anticipation, his mind racing to comprehend the impossible scene unfolding before him.

Erich's footsteps resonated through the arena as he approached Karma, who was already on high alert. "Soul Extension," Erich explained, his eyes locked on Karma's, "a rare mastery of soul binding that allows for manipulation of areas, locations, and even opponents. Only those who have honed their their soul ability can be able to achieve this"

Karma's voice rose in disbelief. "You went back in time? That's your soul ability?"

Erich's smile grew wider. "As I said, it's foolish to reveal your capabilities in combat to your opponent. When you don't , it lets your opponent always stay one step behind."

Karma's skepticism was evident. "How can your soul binding affect the entire stadium? This has to be a trick!"

Ayid watched with growing concern as Erich seemed off, his confidence bordering on arrogance. The stadium buzzed with confusion, sensing something amiss in Karma's behavior. Erich's assuredness was palpable, leaving Ayid wondering what is really happening.

"Now, Karma, tell me - do you think my power comes from my lineage or status?" Erich's eyes gleamed with amusement. "You were confident just moments ago, but now...?"

Karma's teeth gritted in frustration. "Someone has to know about this. I'll report it to the commander. This has to be against the rules!"

Erich chuckled. "You think that's a good idea? They'll just see you as a coward trying to win by exploiting a technicality. They'll assume my status and authority intimidated you into making excuses."

Karma's face twisted in anger, but he knew Erich was right. Every fiber of his being screamed at him to flee, but his pride and determination refused to back down. "It's either fight or quit, isn't it, Erich?"

Erich's smile widened. "Exactly. And in this battle, only one of us will emerge victorious. And that one will be me. You can call it pride, ego, or whatever you like. But what matters most is who wins. So, Karma, I suggest you rethink your strategy carefully."

The tension between them was palpable, and the air seemed to vibrate with anticipation. Karma's heart raced with a mix of fear and uncertainty at his own abilities.

Karma stood tall, his staff at the ready. "I won't back down," he declared, his voice steady despite the turmoil within.

Erich vanished and reappeared in a flash, his fist flying towards Karma with lightning speed. Karma barely had time to react, the punch sending him crashing into the forcefield. The impact shook the arena, the crowd's collective gasp echoing through the air.

As Karma struggled to his feet, blood streaming down his body, Erich stood tall, his eyes gleaming with a cold intensity. "You're no warrior," he sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. "You're just a relic of a bygone belief, clinging to a futile cause."

Karma's eyes blazed with determination, his grip on his staff tightening. "I won't be intimidated," he growled, his voice low and even.

Erich's smile was a cold, calculated thing. "Intimidation is for the weak," he said, his eyes glinting with a sinister light. "I'm here to end you, Karma. And I always get what I want."

With a sudden burst of speed, Erich closed the distance between them, his fist hurtling towards Karma. But Karma dodged, the punch colliding with the forcefield instead. The impact sent tremors through the ground, a tiny crack appearing in the previously impenetrable barrier.

Ayid's eyes widened in shock, his mind reeling with the implications. This forcefield was supposed to be unbreachable, but Erich's attack had seemingly breached it.

"Who is this guy", Ayid muttered.
