Chapter 1: Inheritance?

+-*/\*-+

Earth, the cradle of humanity, a blue paradise that was a key part of Sol’s orbit, for so long it had been considered the sole sign of life. However for the last three thousand and plus years its most adaptive of species has done its best to own it. And while it had taken a while for them to understand to coexist among its precious lands. It had not been long before Humans felt their blue home was far too small. And after spilling most of their own blood, doing their best to master the secrets of the universe, they had finally started to make their way through out their home solar system. Spending time, fortunes and lives in hopes of giving their fellow man a chance to expand beyond their beloved and beautiful home.

It wasn’t an easy transaction, nor was it bloodless, but there had been progress. The red planet known as Mars had been tamed, rebuilt and enhanced for life. Its precious stores of water had been freed, its atmosphere had been nurtured to bring an end to the closed cages that were kindly called colonies. It had taken nearly a millennium of dedicated work, but it was finally ready. And thanks to the many mistakes done on Mars, humanity had matured enough to spread its self beyond the space of the red planet. Many artificially created colonies had been seeded between Earth and Mars, massive city size super structures that had been built by those wishing to gain wealth from the bounty of the void. The main asteroid belt of sol was overflowing with precious resources ready for the taking. So rich was it treasures that humanity was able to build super colonies that were considered to be micro continents.

Five hundred years after Mars was properly Terraformed, Jupiter became the next goal for the ever expanding hands of mankind. Its moons that could be converted into true habitats capable of supporting life were the most wanted targets. Leading to a new age of wars between mega corporations that had wished to beat the government from expanding its domain. This only became possible thanks to the work of one man, Adam Smith. A one in a lifetime super genius that wished to help humanity within his own lifetime. And his legacy was one that was considered to be without equal. His masterpiece was known through out humanity as the Eden System, a powerful and extremely expensive device. For it was a pre-made planet changing machine capable of transforming a planetoid within one’s lifetime.

The larger the space body the longer it took for it to change. The Eden system was a nanomachine factory that has yet to be replicated nor will it be even after hundreds of years since the death of Adam Smith. A man that helped push Humanity’s growth towards space by a factor that specialist said would take many centuries, perhaps even a millennium. Some even claimed that his work could soon allow humanity to expand beyond its solar system.

Which is why the Eden system was not only protected by the entirety of humanity, but so rare to be used. While the factories could terraform a new home within a hundred years, Humanity was hopping to use it on worlds with the potential equal if not greater than that of earth herself. Since its creation it had only been used three times, and each time had been like the hands of god had reshaped a new paradise for man.

After the struggle of conquering Mars, humanity wished for a closer target for expansion. Which is why the moon had been picked as the first test of the Eden System. Humanity watched with disbelief as the large rocket size factory was blasted into the heart of the moon. It was a step that they had never taken before, but now they could stand tall with the knowledge that they are now capable of molding a planetoid to their liking.

For twenty years the surface of the moon was swallowed by an unaccountable amount of nanomachines that wished for nothing more than finish their programming. Adam himself had monitored their progress while making the rare adjustment to their work.

As far as the scientific community was concerned, the things they monitored those day were considered to be impossible. Those specialist, along with the rest of humanity, watched as the moon was carved up in a manner that man could never replicate. Before the eyes of billions Luna was reformed into an image similar to that of the earth herself. Water had been freed if not created and soon flowed through out its surface, making rivers and oceans, before long a new water cycle was born. A good amount of its natural resources was burned up in order to create an atmosphere ninety percent equal to that of earth’s own. The rays of the sun did their job, as its light and energy that always touched Luna, was soon to be used by organic life that was seeded by Adam’s direction. Five rockets, containing some of the most durable plant and fungi based life, was sent to Luna’s growing atmosphere and had dropped its contents from Luna’s orbit. The special capsules gently seeded the planet in the locations that was considered to give the best chances of success.

Within three years the once cold gray surface of the moon had begun to turn blue and green. Life had been brought to a once unlivable area, and its was now thriving. Within the next two years more beneficial and fast growing organisms were introduced to Luna. And this time a bit more sentient creatures were added. Insects, mammals, reptiles, birds and marine life was soon being transferred to the new planet. Many endangered species were let loose, in order to see them grow their numbers, while being safe from human hands.

This action had lead to a few battles where organized hunters attempted to land on Luna and harvest whatever game they could. This was defied by the many governments that was now occupying Sol. After a few attempts by criminals, and the spoiled wealthy, a large defense fleet was placed around the Earth’s moon to allow the Eden system to finish its job. Thirty years after its launch the Eden Factory finally sent one message to earth that wasn’t full of progress data.

“Planetoid ready for colonization.” Were the last and only words sent from the factory before it self destructed, along with all the nanomachines it had ever created. Needless to say humanity had not expected that an AI had been inside the factory, monitoring and controlling its creations. The AI was soon nicknamed by humanity as Luna, after the garden world it had created. It had taken a lot of negotiation and potential threats of war before Luna was once again touched by the hands of man. When the first settlers arrived, the ground of Luna was full of resources ready for the taking.

Thankfully Humanity had learned its lessons after its many mistakes with Earth and Mars. Luna was treated with gentle hands, for now humanity appreciated how rare its beauty was. On the day that Luna’s first colony was finished Adam Smith died with a smile on his face. His work was completed, his legacy would never be forgotten, and his family line was set till the end of time.

Yet the man knew the danger of his work, and had done everything he could to prevent humanity from stealing and weaponizing it. During the last years of Luna’s terraforming, many had asked about using the Eden system to purify and enhance Earth and Mars. Adam Smith made one comment that ended all future attempts.

“A world claimed and scarred by man must be healed by the hands of man. There is no other reparation that can be made”

His words making it clear that his system was never designed for such work. And after his death, the data acquired and given by Luna herself made it clear that it wasn’t designed for such things.

The nanomachines while efficient were also heartless in their work. They were programmed to target the most direct source of the materials needed to do their job. Meaning that in theory that if the system was used on a populated planet, not only would it devour anything built by man, but also all forms of life covering the surface.

Which is why Adam had waited so long before attempting to seed it with life. He had waited for the AI to inform him that the surface was now safe to be occupied. Otherwise anything sent to Luna would had been broken down and used to fuel its changes. A horrible way to go that not one sane person would wish upon another.

With Luna’s rebirth completed and its surface being carefully populated, it was time for Humanity to use more of the remaining factories that had been left to the hands of the leaders of men. One unfortunately had been lost when criminal elements attempted to steal it while it was on its way to Jovian space. A brave soldier had preferred to destroy it rather than see it fall into the hands of such filth. Those responsible for the loss of such a precious and desperately needed equipment, were hunted and destroyed until there was no survivors. Most were surprised to find their former allies being the ones finishing them off.

A second factory was lost when a fool, that wished to prove himself Adam’s better, attempted to break it open to study it. He had done it in secret and clearly with no approval from any other human. His desperate demands to work on a factory had been a red flag that was unfortunately ignored. The man used his genius and resources to make his way to the teams that was going to use the factory on Callisto. His dream to surpass Adam had caused not only his death but also the death of three hundred others that had been carefully selected to monitor Callisto’s rebirth. The factory seals had been broken, and before the man was able to link up his especially made system to that of the factories. He along with the colony ship he was in, was broken apart and made into a planetoid no bigger than a basic apartment complex. Unfortunately it was lost to Jupiter, since it had continued with the momentum of the ship it had once been. Before it could be intercepted and rescued, the micro planet had been caught by Jupiter’s gravity and devoured by its red storm.

Humanity was horrified as a whole, not even a decade after the death of the Eden System’s creator, they had managed to lose two of the factories. Leaving them with only forty seven functioning factories. Which one would think would be a good number, but with humanity’s eyes looking beyond sol, there was clearly not enough factories to be used. Experts claimed their numbers would never be enough. Mainly since they wished to find planets as close to earth if not at least to the quality of Mars.

The third attempt to terraform Callisto was a much more complicated event. No one had wanted to see a repeat of the previous tragedies.

Humanity had done everything in its power to ensure that this factory was not to be compromised. A large fleet had been formed to protect their precious cargo. Soldiers and scientist from all reaches of sol were used to strengthen the chances of success. The factory itself had been sealed off and constantly monitored by so many that it was considered to be impossible to make an attempt on it. And when it finally reached the orbit of the planet it was to terraform, Humanity as a whole celebrated. Fifteen years after the death of Adam Smith, a second factory was finally being used for the benefit of mankind.

Ten years later after the specialist felt that Callisto was readying for seeding, Titan was selected as the next colony to be terraform by the Eden system.

While this Journey was a long one, thankfully it went on without any issue. As the majority of humanity watched with worry and hope, they still lived their daily lives. Smaller companies did their best to offer alternatives to the Eden System. Hoping to find their fortune from the smaller but easier to make artificial colonies. While the number of planets humanity had claimed was limited, the number of space stations were far higher. The cities of the void, while limited in capacity to save cost, where still a boon overall.

Unfortunately their large numbers and ease of creation, compared to terraforming a planet, led to humanity spreading through out Sol in a manner that left much to be desired.

In less than two thousand years humanity had created hundreds of colonies through out its solar home. Many becoming independent due to the cost and needed man power to keep them under proper watch. The majority of these cities of the void only wished for surviving in peace. But like any other flock there will always be a black sheep. While humans was united in their goal of expanding in peace, they had issues on how to coexist once they gained an additional home. The evil that laid sleeping in human hearts refused to let mankind forget of its existence.

Pirates, Warlords, Terrorist, and those that refused to care for others also wished to claim a part of the void for themselves. Using violence to demand ownership of the rewards of those willing to do their part. Spreading chaos through out Sol as they did whatever they wanted in whatever name they wished, all so that they could feel empowered. Their lack of concern for their fellow man easily becoming a burden to the majority of the population.

And like always humanity found new ways in order to not only defend themselves but also strike down their enemies. Projectiles that deal damage never before thought off, armor that could withstand the most vicious of conditions, lasers that did far more than just point, and explosives that would make any pyromaniac cry in joy. These were merely a sample of what humanity had created, and continued to create. If a person had once thought it was just the thoughts of a child with silly imagination, they would learn that it probably existed in one way or another.

Time and Space had done well in nurturing the growth of humanity. Innovation and dreams created goals for mankind to reach for. And overall the love that humanity wished to cultivate helped keep the majority of their time in peace. Yet like through all of its history, mankind was still filled with flaws. The sins of man were numerous and would continue to grow. It was only due to those willing to make things right that mankind had yet to go extinct.

The age was known as New Eden, a time that humanity mostly focused on expanding its borders. The year was the sixty third after the death of Adam Prime. The location being the red planet that over a billion called home. And while a majority of its surface remained the same, the sight of growing green and blue patches was hard to ignore. To see a red planet with such a look was quite the unique experience. Most that saw its beauty for the first time would easily spread such words.

A young man barely entering his mid twenties let out a yawn as customs finished checking him in. He considered himself a bit above average when it came to his looks.

His red hair and green eyes easily catching the attention of others. His frame, made from hard work, easily put to shame those that used gyms to stay in shape. And while he wasn’t considered a genius, he was more than able to succeed in gaining a higher education. One thing that set him apart from the majority of the populace was his strong grasp at common sense. From a young age he never cared for making a fool of himself. And while he enjoyed having a good time as much as any other, he wasn’t the type to take a risk that could damage his chances for the future.

“Name.” The space port officer asked the young man that stood before him.

“Jayson C. Hunter.” The twenty six year old red head answered with respect. While the custom officer was a bit rude when he spoke, the young man knew it probably wasn’t because of something he did.

“What’s the reason for your visit?” The man asked as he continued to verify the identity of the man before him. Jayson easily noticing that this part of Mars used basic keyboards instead of something more complicated.

‘Probably has to do with the dust storms they tend to have to deal with.’ The red head thought as he took in the tech that made up a part of the port.

“My grandfather had requested for me to be here.”

“I see.” The man said as the system he was using finally cleared the young man. Showing that he didn’t have any negative marks on his record and was welcomed as a guest. “Have a nice day.” The man said with no real meaning to his words.

“Thanks.” The red couldn’t help but reply with the same amount of enthusiasm. Since its was his first time on the red planet a part of him had hoped for a bit more from the locals. As a colony raised kid he had dreamed that things were different from what he had seen while growing up.

Jayson took back the complicated and very advance looking device from the man. The tool he now held was probably the most advance and important piece of technology for everyday life. What had one day been known as a phone soon became the foundation of everyday life. Jayson’s life box was one of the most advanced ones currently available for purchase. He still wasn’t sure how his mother was able to get her hands on one. She was just a simple waitress after all, not to mention they lived on one of the lesser known colonies of the main asteroid belt of Sol. It was more of a massive pit stop for solar travel than a place for people to live in. Ship repairs, mercenary escorts and basic entertainment for bored travelers of the void.

Yet the tech that identified Jayson, allowed him access to his funds, helped him deal with everyday life, and was more than likely bulletproof, it was something clearly out of their price range. But yet here it was in his hands, and all his mother said was that it was a gift from his grandfather. A man that would usually call him a few times a year, but never made an effort to visit. Which was mostly due to the fact that his mother didn’t really care for his father’s side of the family.

Jayson couldn’t blame her, after all he was a bastard by definition. Although he was one that even if his grandfather seemed to care about even if his father clearly did not.

He remembered being a child and meeting his grandfather for the first time through a video call. The man asked a few questions, smiled at his response and wished to hear good things from him. At the time the boy didn’t really think much about it, he was only five after all. Yet something his grandfather told him became a lingering part of his soul. The man said that he couldn’t wait to see the mark Jason was going to make when he grew up.

Even as a man just out of college he couldn’t help but feel that those words had a greater meaning. And it seemed his guess had been right as he made his way through the City of Ares, Capital of Mars. Considered to be one the largest settlements humanity had ever made. He couldn’t help but be filled with awe as he walked without an emergency air kit. Since they were on a planet with a stable atmosphere they didn’t have to worry about the sudden lost of oxygen. And while most colony also didn’t have that problem there still a few times where unforeseen accidents happened.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

And while it wasn’t earth, much less Luna, there still was a beauty to the red world that a simple colony couldn’t hope to match. He was still getting used to having a form of gravity at all times. Due to the size of their colony, only the core area had working gravity, while the outer levels, where he lived had limited gravity in order to conserve power.

Not to mention he wasn’t used to having so many people around him. His home only had a population count of ten thousand, which he was sure he just saw during his time at the main port the ship had docked at. Now standing in the capital of Mars with a few million bodies surrounding him made him feel a bit insignificant.

“This can’t be right.” Jayson said to himself as he double checked the address on his life box. It had linked up with the Martian network in order to best guide him to the location his grandfather had set for their meeting. And after nearly an hour of traveling he had apparently found his way to where his grandfather was suppose to be waiting for him.

And now he stood at one of the most well known landmarks of the red planet. A massive skyscraper turned luxury hotel and restaurant. Considered to be one of the top three places, not to mention most expensive, ever built by man. Known to cater to the blue bloods and those that wish to considered themselves as the elite for being born with platinum diapers on their butts. Simply put it was a place he had no business being at.

“Mr. Hunter.” A woman’s voiced called towards him. He turned to its owner and found himself staring at a beauty in a suit. Just with the way she stood with confidence made it clear to him that she was more than just a pretty voice. Her looks were practically that of a model, and her elegant black hair seemed to be made of the finest silk. He had no doubt any man would kill to be with someone like her.

It hadn’t taken him long to notice that most of the people around him were some of the most beautiful he had ever.

“That’s me.” Jayson said as he offered the top of his lifebox towards the woman who had just began to tap on her own. He noticed her device was much larger but not as thick. It looked expensive as heck, and did a better job for dealing with documents.

But considering the fact that his had already taken her information and run a background on the woman, while she was still apparently waiting for hers to verify who he was, it was clear who had the better gear.

“A pleasure to meet you Mr. Hunter. If you would be so kind as to follow me.” The beauty of Asian heritage said with a more casual tone as she guided the red head towards his grandfather. Jayson simply nodded his head and walked behind her. At the moment he was grateful towards his mom for beating his head in until he accepted the idea to wear a suit. Otherwise he had no doubt he would look like a fool if he had showed up in his usual wear.

These feelings were amplified as he saw more individuals that more than likely made more money than the colony he called home would ever see. And while he was dressed in what he considered high class clothing, it was clear he didn’t fit in.

‘Damn Blue Bloods.’ The red head wanted to hiss as he heard those around him whispering as they criticized the casual way he wore his outfit. He didn’t care much for having the penguin suit attempt to suffocate him. Nor was he a fan of pretending to be something he was not.

The young man soon became even more uncomfortable as his guide didn’t bother to speak to him. He figured she didn’t want anything to do with him, he was clearly not part of the world she wanted to be in. Which was okay for him, since he didn’t care about making friends on Mars. He just wanted to see the old man and make his way back home. While their relationship wasn’t close to being normal he knew that his grandfather wished for the best for his grandson. He still wondered what kind of joke he was planning, since he couldn’t figure out why he had to go to such a place just to meet.

‘Still... to think my father was from Mars? Never would have considered that a possibility.’ As the elevator doors opened near the top floors he was surprised to see himself standing before a whole floor that was customized to be one giant room.

He had no idea how much it would cost to rent the place, and honestly didn’t want to know. Just hearing the numbers was probably going to blow his mind. He was just a humble colonist after all.

His eyes scanned the room falling upon the different individuals already patiently waiting for whatever was going to start. It seemed like he was one of the youngest there, while the oldest looked to be at least ten years older than him. The woman at his side soon went back down the elevator after he got off it. Since it was clear none of the nine groups wanted anything to do with him, he found himself a lone seat at the nearby bar. He was only able to have a simple drink and appetizer before he noticed a man standing at the front of the large group. An older and very professional looking man.

“Good afternoon Ladies and Gentleman… It is with great sorrow that I must inform all of you that Lord Bartholomew Bismark has passed on.” The man said making the eyes of Jayson to grow with disbelief.

‘The old man is dead?’

“In accordance with his will, each of you will be given a list by order that you have been born.” The man said as Jayson’s lifebox notified him of receiving the list. He took noticed of the nine that also received the message. “This list contains the fifteen businesses that Lord Bismark had built with his own hands. Each property has the same equivalent value even if they are scattered through out our solar system.”

‘A resort on Luna, Three Five Stars hotels on Earth, A water filtration and distribution plant on Mars, A Harvesting Company on Callisto, a groups of colonies, and even more businesses.’ The red head thought as he went over the data that was given to him.

“You ten are the heirs of Lord Bismark’s Legacy. In order to prevent any potential problems among his grandchildren, Lord Bismark has broken his fortune and businesses into fifteen equal parts.” The man said with a serious tone and light glare on his face to prevent any would be challengers.

“Those born first will be given first pick, those last parts not selected will be liquefied and then it’s worth passed equally among the ten of you. Your grandfather felt that should give you enough breathing room to keep your business running long enough for you to get a handle of it.”

“What about our fathers? Won’t they be receiving their fair share?” A man within his late twenties asked. Jayson noticing that he seemed to have lived the life of a noble. At least that’s the way he tried to present himself.

“Most of you have never met your father, much less know how each of you happen to be related to one another.” The man’s words making it clear that the heirs before him were all born from one man.

“Lord Bismark’s son, Frederic was disowned nearly twenty years ago. Last we heard he died at the hands of the same criminal group he had aligned himself with in order to overthrow Lord Bismark.”

Jayson’s eyes grew with disbelief, he wasn’t sure what shocked him more. The fact that his father tried to kill his grandfather for money, or the fact he had nine half siblings he never met. Siblings that still made it clear they wanted nothing to do with him.

“For the next three hours you will be allowed to go over the list and prioritize which properties you wish to claim as your own. After that you are to enter the briefing room and be handed ownership of the property and the business on it that you are fortunate enough to gain. Lord Bismark has made it clear that these businesses are capable of being run without any need of your own input.”

‘So we could just sit on our butts and be set for life?… No way the old man made things that easy. I still can’t believe he owned so much… why didn’t mom ever tell me about this?’ The red head thought with confusion in his heart.

“You may now begin.” The lawyer said before leaving the room. The security team that had been standing behind him soon spread through out the room. More than likely to make sure no issues came up during the time allowed to make up their mind.

‘First thing first… I could probably say good bye to anything within the inner territories.’ Jayson thought as he swiped away all properties on Earth, Luna and Mars. ‘Our colony was devastated when those pirates attempted a raid eight years ago…so goodbye all asteroid real estate. Don’t want to deal with such a threat ever again.’

With another swipe three more properties were removed from his list.

‘That leaves a hospital on Callisto, a methane farming colony within Jovian space and finally a decommissioning and recycling plant on Titan.’ The red head thought as he went over the data given to him about the three properties he felt were his best chances. Four two hours he reviewed reports from all three business and evaluated everything they had to offer. While he wasn’t an economist, he was educated enough to see where money flowed the most.

The hospital unfortunately had gone through a major legal problem with the local government. Something that would take years to fix even if he used all of his soon to be wealth to try to make things right. Another problem was that the only land he was to be given was the property of the hospital itself. Meaning he would have to take the time to locate a place for the entirety of his family.

The methane colony was making a profit, but years of neglect has been causing a dangerous amount of work injury related cases that showed no sign of stopping. And while he knew that his grandfather wouldn’t leave him with such a debt. He understood that it was going to cost even more money than the hospital to modernize the fuel plant.

Without a doubt his best bet was the massive Junkyard that was available on Titan. It was only hours away from the capital. Seemed to be completely ready for him to take over with no legal or financial issues. More importantly the amount of land he was to gain was massive. Easily dwarfing anything compared to what was available on the other planetoids currently housing humanity. The more files he read, the more he was feeling that this business was the best option available. And while it was basically at the far reaches of the system, it was still on a planet that was just recently approved for colonization. Meaning there was a lot of land for a cheap price. As long as one was willing to make their way so far from earth.

It wouldn’t take long to build a new home within the land he already owned. The fact that it catered to quite a few well known mercenary groups made it quite tempting. The most important thing was that his soul of an engineer was roaring for him to claim it.

‘Titan, Callisto and Greater Fuel will be my top three options. Five places I wouldn’t mind owning and finally the last two being places I know I won’t ever get the chance to get.’ Jayson thought as he made his selections and sent them to the lawyer that had just spoken. ‘Now I wait and see how things go down. Hey... I can order a meal.’ The red head thought with a smile as he was given a quick response.

An hour later, and with a now filled and happy stomach, Jayson was ready to hear the results. He had spent some time watching his family as they took in council from those they brought with them. He could see some had lovers, others friends, their own family and the one he felt was his oldest brother had brought a legal team with him.

‘No doubt the best accounting and legal advisors he could afford.’ The red head thought while remembering that none of his own immediate family cared to join. Although those he would normally seek for guidance told him to follow his instincts while on the red planet.

“Mr. Hunter. I wish to have a few words with you before I start giving out the results.” The lawyer suddenly said after coming out of the briefing room and making his way to Jayson. The red head could already hear insults and whispers coming from the entourage of his kin.

“Since none of you had Mr. Hunter’s first pick as a part of your top ten list. He is to take his claim without having to wait for the end of the legacy distribution.” The lawyer informed those around him in order to silence those with rude mouths.

Jayson was surprised that this man he had never met was willing to stand up for him. He followed the man into the briefing room that was just as out standing as the large living area he just left.

“I would like to say congratulations Mr. Hunter. While its a shame that Lord Bismark is no longer with us, my client was always a man that enjoyed a bit of gambling.” The lawyer’s words making Jayson to look towards him in confusion. Not for the fact that his grandfather was a gambler but on why this fact was brought up. He couldn’t figure out why such a fact would matter given their current situation.

“Your grandfather had left a bonus to the one that was lucky enough to find themselves in your position. I was informed not to make this fortune known to his grandchildren to make the competition more fair.”

“So what did the old man gamble on?”

“He wanted to see who was fortunate enough to make the one pick that nobody would normally want. That pick being what many would just consider a junkyard in deep space.” The man’s words making the red head to give him a nod in agreement. The red head had considered it such a thing as well. He couldn’t deny such thoughts when he was the one that made them.

“So what’s this bonus you spoke off?”

“The last of Lord Bismark's personal funds… after taxes and paying off the donations Lord Bismark wished to be delivered.”

“Right… so how much?” He wasn’t sure on what to expect, there was just too much he didn’t know.

“Mr. Hunter you now find yourself over Ten Billion Credits richer.” The man’s words making the new billionaire look at him with disbelief.

‘Ten billion credits? My students loans were only half a mil, mom’s house is two and… I have more money than what I know what to do with. How rich was the old man?’

“Once again congratulations.” The man said before bringing out a digital sketch pad. “Just some paperwork needed in order to transfer the rights of Nexus Reconstructions, a quick linking of your Lifebox and you’ll be good to go.” The man said as Jayson could only nod his head as his brain attempted to process what was happening to him. A part of him thought he was going through a very rude prank. But as he got more paperwork done, and as his lifebox verified everything to be true. He couldn’t believe the secrets his grandfather and mother had kept from him.

“And don’t worry about needing an escort. Your grandfather had prepared for the sudden changes in your life.” The man said as a group soon made its way in.

“Nice to meet you Lord Hunter.” The leader of the group said with a smirk.

“You guys are members of the Fangs of Saturn.”Jayson said with awe, they were considered to be one of the biggest mercenary group in the outer colonies. More importantly they were legit. The emblem they wore was a badge of honor that few were ever foolish enough to ever imitate.

“That we are, and for the next year we will be ensuring your safe return.” The mercenary said with a smile as his group did their best to be as professional as possible. Which he found a bit silly since they looked like some kind of futuristic cowboys. They looked ready to take on any opponent before them before ridding off to the sunset.

The ten mercenaries looked more than ready to protect and destroy in the name of their new client. And the young man wasn’t entirely sure on how to accept such dedication. Especially when he looked at the small woman with the mini-gun that looked like she was much younger than him.

‘How the hell was she allowed to walk in here with that thing strapped on her body? How is she able to carry it to begin with? I don’t think my home would have ever been able to prepare me for such a sight.’ The new businessman thought with awe and wonder.

“We have a transport ready to take you back to your ship whenever your ready to depart. The name is Derrick, this is Jewel... she is second in command of my pack.” The leader of the group said with a smile as a purple haired woman gave a light smile and wave.

The red head wasn’t sure if her hair was natural or not, but he personally knew how annoying it was to have someone ask such questions. Since his hair was a blood red that seemed a bit unnatural.

“Wait… what do you mean my ship?” The newly made entrepreneur asked with clear confusion in his words.

“Well the contract states that the client was to provide our transport back to Titan. I guess we can use a public ship, but it will at least take us a month to be able to approve all of our equipment for travel.” Derrick said with a bit of uncertainty since he was delivering bad news to their freshly met client.

“I see… I’m going to need access to the old man’s gift a lot sooner than I thought.” Jayson said towards his grandfather’s lawyer making the man give him a smile in acknowledgment. The man was quick to tap into the digital pad and a few seconds later Jayson’s went off.

“This… is a lot more than I was originally promised.” The red head nearly stuttered as he looked upon the eleven digit figure that was now being displayed on the screen of his life box.

“The Ten Billion came from the bonus promised to you. Five was managed from an initial investment that your grandfather nurtured since the day of your birth. Another four is from the money your mother was entitled to in order to help provide for you. And the rest comes from your recently obtained company paying you, your new CEO salary as if you had been the owner since your eighteen birthday. The rest is bonuses and profits from a few side companies that are needed to help Nexus Reconstructions to function with ease. The rest was accumulated by my company’s financial teams that Lord Bismark used for even his own investments.” The man said making Jayson fill with disbelief.

‘Once again… that’s more money than anything I had ever dreamed I could need, much less get my hands on… I can’t believe the old man set me up like this.’ Until his Lifebox displayed the transfer of credits, he still thought he was being made a fool. And now he felt terrible for ever thinking his grandfather never really cared for him. It seemed the man covered all necessary bases, even if he never got the chance to spend too much time with him.

“I guess its time to go shopping.” Jayson said with a strained smile making the mercenaries around him to gain positive energy.

“I’m going to need a legal and economic advisor as soon as possible.” His words where directed towards the lawyer making the man to smile at Jayson with pride.

“And we will provide the best personnel possible, for the right price of course.” The Lawyer said with a professional tone.

“I figured as much.” The red head said with a sigh. Once again he was handed the pad in order to search through the agents that were available for hire.

For his legal advisor he selected a woman of tan skin, black hair, blue eyes and a down to earth look. She was apparently near the point of being promoted into a senior position, and his new offer was more than equal to the goals she desired to meet. Her name was Angela Moonraven, he really hoped she would become his guardian angel on all legal fronts.

His new personal accountant was a young man with well groomed short brown hair, amber eyes, and was apparently a living mathematical crunching computer. His file showing that he specialized in helping failing businesses from going under. His name was Sakuraba Oda and seemed to be of average height.

‘With these two I might be able to keep myself from completely destroying the old man’s gifts. Mom should hopefully be happy with these choices.’ The red head shivered with a natural amount of fear of upsetting his mother.

“How long until they are ready to join us?”

“Their packing shouldn’t take any longer than a few hours. I’ll have them contact you and meet up with you as soon as possible. That way they can start to properly earn their keep.” The man’s words making Jayson to nod his head in approval since such things were reasonable.

“Our main branch will also be over watching their work in order to ensure they don’t cause any problems.” The lawyer said with the tone of a man that was grateful of the sudden bonus he was soon to receive. Yet was still completely professional and ready to take care of his firm’s newest high paying client. The man personally knew the two Jayson now employed, and was sure they were going to make a great impression.

“I really appreciate that, if things go well I’ll probably be using your services once again. My grandfather clearly trusted you guys, and I see no reason to do otherwise.” Jayson said with confidence. While the red head didn’t know much about the new world he was being thrown into. He now understood that his grandfather had thrived in this environment, and to do such things one needed the right connections. Connections that now stood before Jayson.

“Your kind words are most appreciated.” The man said with a light bow. “And with this today’s business is unfortunately done. I will be returning to the main hall in order to handle the last of Lord Bismark's will.”

“Ah… right… the others.” The new Billionaire was clearly still unsure how to feel about his new kin.

The lawyer gave him an understanding smile before watching the young man leave through the doors that the mercenaries had come in from. He hoped for the best for Lord Bismark’s youngest grandchild, knowing that the red head was going to be facing many challenges from now on. Not just those originating from his own kin but also those that wished to take advantage of him. Thankfully the young man had an honorable group of mercenaries to protect him. And those of his own company were more than ready to destroy any foolish enough that would dare oppose their new charge. Hopefully none of the man’s siblings would consider hiring from them as well. Infighting among colleagues never ended with simple results. Unfortunate the company was never known for ignoring such forms of profit.
