Query: What constitutes normal Theropod behavior?
Answer: Missing info.
WIMP-9 continued to monitor Birdie as it chased flying insects. It did not know what to think as it continued to jump and snap at it, growling in intervals. WIMP let out a low whistle, a tune Birdie had come to recognize. It wheeled around and waddled back to its metallic companion. WIMP’s body whirred as it stopped, checking the same SOS ping. It lacked any identification, ruling out a potential black box signal. Battery diagnostics demonstrated a minimal loss. Optics revealed little. Birdie again began to gnaw on WIMP’s arm segment, flexing its jaws as it had begun to teeth.
Something pinged at WIMPS microphone, and antennae whirred as optics scanned again. WIMP’s arm was automatically converted into its Pulse Arm configuration and raised. WIMP brought the arm around with a steady arc as Optus continued can after scan. Now wholly focused and alert, Birdie began working its jaws around WIMP’s leg. When WIMP detected a pin on his short-range radar, something pinged off his chassis. As WIMP reared the Pulse Arm, his microphone detected a string of beeps and whirs from behind. An impact struck WIMP’s legs as it was tripped, Birdie having lept clear of what looked to WIMP’s optics as a metallic box on wheels. Proprioceptive sensors kicked in, the free arm reaching out as legs wing to reorient. WIMP fired the pulse arm but was disoriented once more as something ricocheted off the headpiece.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Something pierced WIMP’s Pulse Arm, and a second later, WIMP’s microphone picked up a clank and a click against his chassis.
”Go ahead and move. I won’t miss point blank.” WIMP recognized the language as a rudimentary English dialect. WIMP kept still as the box wheeled around, moving its pieces until a machine sprouted. A quick scan revealed it to be a construction robot. WIMP altered its optics, widening its periphery, and saw a human wearing a tattered trenchcoat, a hat, and a strange mask, a strange gun in their hands. They flinched when WIMP spoke in its synthetic voice.
“Would you happen to have a radio?”
