Ch 1 Transport shock

Luke was a typical 10 year old, full of ideas, too much chat and always late, This particular day he arrived at his school late as usual, he rushed through the gates and over the play yard. The sun was shining to mock his current state of worry at being late and the torrent of words of excuses running through his mind, sweating and red from the run, he took a deep breath, closing his eyes and held on to the front door bar of the school entrance and pulled.

To his utter astonishment what he saw before him was grass, and what he had in his hand was a piece of wood. "What the piggin toothpicks am i seeing" he rubbed his eyes.

Then he opened them again, only to see the same sight. As far as he could see there was grass and mountains everywhere. He turned around full 360 with his mouth open wide still unable to fathom what had happened. A cold chill ran through him, the air had quite a bite.

The area he was stood in was half way up a mountain, he could see a narrow path that led from where he stood, meandering diagonally downwards, his view was obstructed by outcrops of rock so he could not see the path entirely. On looking at the path behind him, it led winding further up the mountain. The sun was blazing, he started to squint to avoid the sun shine, he turned to find some shade, he found some In an outcrop of rock further up the path, there he sat to ponder his predicament.

Luke searched his pockets for anything he might have on him that he could eat, He found a single chiglet of chewing gum in the corner of his blazer pocket; wiping off the lint he chewed and pondered.

He gazed lazily at the scene and thought to himself, "well this is better than being at school and having a detention for being late, I wonder will I be able to go back?, where am I ? who brought me here? Have they invented teleportation? What country am i in? am i even in England anymore ?

As his thoughts started careening down on him, he started to shake in shock and panic. He sat shaking for an hour before he calmed enough to start into survival mode. The gears of his brain slowing to normal, forcing himself to breath normally and steady his fear to the back of his head.

He then peeked out of his hiding place, shocked at the blazing sun once again. he mumbled to himself " i wish i had brought sunscreen" and with that a blue window appeared before his eyes. Astonished, he gaped at it, turning his head from side to side and the screen followed with his movements. "whaaaa what is this", he studied the screen, it said Luke Highwalker, age 12, level 1, Strength 1, endurance 1, Defence 1, all possible stats were set to 1, ooh and what is this bar at the bottom, it is a sliding bar with no number just an indicator. Currently the balance bar indicates that im in the middle, Grey, "what does that mean?" When he pressed it, a more detailed pop up appeared, the text read Soul balance, indicates the state of ones soul. "what! that is new, i have never seen a game screen with that on." I wonder if i can influence it here and now.

He tried sit ups, head stands, jumping, sitting down in defeat he started thinking "how can i influence my own soul" Oh i know it is good thoughts, meditation maybe, bringing in good energy." with that he sat still thinking of above, thinking of good things of the beauty of the world he could see. when he finished the needle had moved a little towards the right. "Hmm, that seems to work".

After a while his stomach started to complain, he had no food nor water, "i have little time to find safety" With that, he leaned over and picked up his staff, then stood and took his first steps forward in the new world.
