“Run I’ll hold them back!” Mark shouted as he transformed his weapon into it’s shield mode as he blocked a blow from a Stormtrooper with an ax, Arnold, Gaige and Miriam have already sprinted off to safety just as Mark had ordered but Gray had stayed behind as she was fighting other Stormtroopers using Silver Wolf’s halberd mode.

“Dammit Gray I gave you an order!” Mark said slamming the shield against the head of a stormtrooper and knocking them out. Mark instantly looked around checking his surroundings for any potential attackers but they’ve all scattered to hunt down the trio, leaving a handful of them to stick around and fight Mark and Gray.

He quickly heard a shout and turned to find Alice and her Bone Breaker slamming against Pridwen causing Mark to let out a grunt of pain as he looked at Alice beyond the shield with a smirk on her face all the while Stormtroopers began to close in on the two of them.

“Mark!” Gray shouted as she impaled a Stormtrooper with her halberd and started sprinting towards them as she switched to her shotgun and started opening fire on Alice. But despite her slender figure, Alice was faster as she pulled away and grabbed a nearby Stormtrooper and used him as a human shield killing him instantly.

“Coward!” Gray shouted at her as Alice sprinted towards her with her Mace in hand and swung in an upwards arc, striking her in the face sending her flying to the dirt with a thud! This took Mark by surprise as he slammed the Mace against him in a horizontal motion causing him to his the dirt as well.

“Sorry Princess but the thing is he’s my target,” She said spinning her mace around like a toy and then switched it towards it Grenade Launcher mode. But as she was about to fire a round at Mark, Gray tackled her to the ground and started punching her in the face, Mark used this to his advantage and started to take down as many Stormtroopers as possible using Excalibur to cut them each down with extreme efficiency.

“What the hell is up with this Ki—!” One Stormtrooper said as he was quickly decapitated with Mark’s Excalibur and then switched towards Caliburn and sliced the arm of the second Stormtrooper and then impaled the third Stormtrooper in the chest.

Meanwhile to Gray was able to disarmed Alice of her weapon and the two girls got into a fist fight, with Alice being the first to retaliate by punching Gray in the stomach but she proceeded to elbow Alice’s back. Alice grabbed her by the waist and body slammed her to the ground onto some rocks causing Gray to let out a grunt of pain but she quickly recovered and kicked Alice in the stomach and threw a rock at Alice throwing her off guard.

Eventually but he time Mark had finished taking down the remaining Stormtroopers the two girls were still fixed on fighting one another to the point where they have resorted to hair pulling due to the exhaustion hitting them after fighting for a prolonged period. But eventually Alice managed to overpower Gray and put her in a chokehold.

"Don't worry your highness, I won't kill you and I'll make sure to--"

Whump!

Mark managed to knock her out with a well placed strike on the back of her neck causing her to hit the ground with a soft thud leaving a surprised Gray coughing from the overall affair.

"Thanks, needed that one." She said between coughs as she stood up and looked at the now unconscious Body of Alice. "So what are we gonna do with her?"

"Prisoner of war, she'll make a good bargaining chip." Mark said as he reached out to grab her but Gray quickly pulled out a some rope and started tying Alice by the arms and legs and then proceeded to pick her up in a quick fashion while giving Mark a firm look.

"What?" Mark asked in confusion.

"Just because she's unconscious doesn't mean you can touch her freely mister."

"That wasn't even my intention.” Mark Replied with an eye roll, it was true that she was attractive but Mark isn't in any mindset to go skirt chasing, and even if it were the case he would be after older women.

[Rise of the Dark Hound]

Mark and the others peeked out of the bushes to a secret entrance to the walls of Fenrir that are currently being approached by a squad of Fiero Stormtroopers, it was a narrow pathway sandwiched between the walls and the mountain itself. It was designed to serve as a few secret exits for an evacuation should they were besieged and fail to defend. It was this exit that allowed them to sneak out of the City and prepare the traps that were disappointingly ignored due to them taking a different route altogether.

“We need to take them out,” Gaige said pulling out his sniper rifle while Miriam did the same thing by combining her pistols into a sniper rifle.

“Cover me and Arnold,” Mark said as he tapped Gray by the shoulder who nodded as she gripped both her Silver Wolf and Alice’s Bone Breaker while Mark and Arnold moved away from the bushes and started to slowly make their way towards the side entrance.

“Oi what’re—”

Bang!

The Stormtroopers that were walking towards their general location were immediately shot in the head by Gaige and Miriam who were still in that overlook alongside Gray and the unconscious Alice.

Your aim is impressive, not bad for a scientist who does nothing but play with your research. Mark thought to himself as he and Arnold arrived by the entrance of the side entrance. However, they were greeted by the sight of more Stormtroopers marching towards them causing Mark to pull out Arthur once more while Arnold revved his chainsword as the two got into a fighting stance.

I need to get them to somewhere safe while I continue the fight from the outside using the Augment Armor. Mark thought glancing down to see that the Augment Armor has already recharged and ready to fight for a few more minutes.

“Arnold cut a small hole there for the others to sneak inside! I’ll cover you!” Mark ordered as he pulled out a pistol and started shooting down the Stormtroopers that were coming their general direction.

What am I thinking! This Ten millimeter pistol isn’t going to make a dent on their Mk. V armor! Mark thought tossing the pistol aside and pulled out Caliburn and prepared to face off against the incoming Squad of Fiero Stormtroopers.

The first trooper pulled out a chainax and swung in a downwards slash, but Mark sidestepped and swapped Caliburn to Carnwennan and slit the throat of the first Stormtrooper, the first trooper tried to grab him with one hand while grabbing his neck as blood seeped out of the wound. Meanwhile a second Stormtrooper tried to punch him with a power fist and a third swinging his power sword at him in an attempt to decapitate him.

First Mark switched Carnwennan to Rhongomiant and impaled the first Stormtrooper in the neck, he then dodged the swing by the Third Stormtrooper causing Mark to take a few steps back as the two troopers were closing into him.

“You don’t have to fight, just drop the weapon and we’ll—” Mark didn’t let him finish his sentence as he impaled him with Caliburn and proceeded to bisect the Trooper. He then dodged the punch from the Second Trooper but then he sliced her arm off and then sliced her head off with Excalibur, He pulled out the Direfang Keycard once more and shouted. “Augment!”

And once more he is now armed with the Direfang Armor.

Meanwhile atop the ridge where the trio were watching in awe with a mixture of horror as Mark continued to cut down more Stormtroopers at high speeds thanks to the aid of the Augment Armor all the while they were providing sniper support from above.

“Holy shit, what on earth did Mark go through for him to be this good at fighting.” Gaige said between shots.

“He used to fight Bandits and Raiders on a daily basis for the last three years when he was on Honshu.” Miriam replied pressing a recorder on her gun recording the whole fight.

“But I never expected him to fight like a wild dog.” Miriam added as Mark dodged a chainsword and sliced open the abdomen of another Stormtrooper and then ripped a shotgun from a dead trooper’s hands and proceeded to open fire at the remaining Stormtroopers who were present. One of them pulled out a shield and started taking hits of the shots Mark had made.

“That’s a rude way to describe a berserker.” Gaige said as Mark switched to Rhongomiant once more and skewered the Shield carrying Stormtrooper, and then proceeded to steal her Mace and swung it around crushing the skull of a nearby Stormtrooper.

“But it’s true, but then again I remember Mark having a similar nickname.” Miriam said trying to recall the name Mark had told her in the past via the letters. “I think it was Dark Hound or something.”

“Dark Hound huh? Yeah that’s a fitting name.” Gaige said reloading his sniper rifle.

Clint sat impatiently in the Armored Truck as he waited for Alice to make a response on her personal mission to breach the walls using a small group of Stormtroopers. She was overconfident that she’ll be able to do the mission on her own but she has yet to reply.

“Dammit I told her it was a bad idea,” Clint said in a low voice as he grabbed his spear and started joining the fight and proceeded to impale a Shinomori Stormtrooper in the chest and then transformed his spear into a battle rifle and then continued to open fire at the Dirus Stormtroopers and then proceeded to make his way to the side leading to where the sister had went.

But as he was slowly making his way towards the Side entrance he was greeted by a terrifying sight.

He saw a man covered in blood while wearing a strange set of Armor that bore the resemblance of a black dog, holding a two handed sword in one hand and a smaller one in his other hand. He continued to cut down the last few Stormtroopers that were dispatched alongside his sister.

Clint felt his blood boil as he realized this man would have no doubt killed his sister in cold blood, and so he gripped his battle rifle and charged at the armored person as fired his rifle. Mark on the other hand had just finished taking out the last of the Stormtroopers that came with her and is genuinely taken by surprise by the arrival of Clint who swung his battle rifle as it transformed into a spear.

“What have you done to my sister!” He shouted swing the spearhead in an attempt to wound him but Mark chose to take a few step back unable to answer him due to how taken aback by what is happening. But then a rather sadistic side of Mark started to flare up as the two locked blades.

“Your sister? Do you think I’d know the face of every single fool that would try and defeat me?” Mark said causing Clint to let out a shout as he kicked Mark in the chest but due to the armor, that did nothing to faze Mark who punched Clint to the stomach sending him flying to tree.

“I’ll kill you!!” Clint shouted as he proceeded to open fire his rifle until he ran out of ammunition, he cursed loudly as he stood up and readied his spear to charge at Mark once but he swapped his sword to Pridwen and proceeded to knock him out.

As if on cue, the Armor deactivated and disassembled leaving Mark without the Augment Armor. With a sigh he picked up Clint and made his way back to the side entrance where Arnold had already been able to punch a hole on the gate the then waved at the trio who were watching by the ridge and started making their way down to the side entrance.

“Oh hey you managed to knock out Clint,” Gaige said as they watched Miriam and Gray slowly move the unconscious Alice inside while Mark and Gaige made their way inside while carrying Clint as well.

Upon entering the City, they found that it was already in the middle of being assaulted by the Allied forces of the Festus Family. Without hesitation, Mark sprinted off leaving the others behind as his mind was filled with worry for his biological father who was in a heated battle with Captain Nathaniel Thorne which is the captain of the Festus Forces.

He watched his father dodged and block the lightning claw Nathaniel wielded as Joshua blocked it with his sword. Mark uttered no word other than swapping Caliburn to Rhongomiant and proceeded to impale Nathaniel with it, Nathaniel let out a pained gasp as Mark lifted him up and tossed him to the side leaving him to bleed out.

Joshua stood there looking at Mark with an unreadable expression on his face, but the two quickly stood each other back to back with their weapons ready at hand with Joshua grabbing a second sword while Mark swapping Rhongomiant to Excalibur once more.

Mark blocked a swing from an incoming Stormtrooper while Joshua impaled another with both swords. Causing him to let go of them and instead pick up a chainsword from a dead Stormtrooper while Mark continued the duel with another Stormtrooper but Mark was faster so he ended up decapitating him with his sword.

"Not bad son, but just so you know you'll be grounded after this." Joshua said as he gunned the chainsword and then proceeded to cut the Stormtrooper in half.

"I take full responsibility for what I did it it meant giving our family a chance to see another day." Mark replied quickly as he impaled a Stormtrooper.

The father and son duo continued to hack and slash their way through the incoming waves of Stormtroopers that were invading their home, the combined technical precision of Joshua and the wild berserker movements of Mark proved that the House of Dirus is filled with wolves.

And those wolves are truly ferocious.

"Dirus!"

The father and son duo turned around to find Settlement Master Lucas Festus who has now decapitated a Dirus Stormtrooper with his chainax. Mark stood forward and tried to mentally prepare himself to fight him but then he felt the hand of his father on his shoulder and turned to find his father with a reassuring smile on his face.

“Let your father deal with this.” He said stepping forward gunning the chainsword as Lucas did the same thing with his own Chainax causing both weapons to let out a loud revving noise causing everyone present to stop and watch.

“I hear you fought in the War.” Joshua said with a smile as walked towards him while spinning the Chainsword that he had gotten his hands on.

“You didn’t?” Lucas said smiling back at him as he walked in a straight line all the while Joshua circled around him like a beast stalking it’s prey.

“I was busy playing bandit the whole time.” Joshua said though Mark noticed a hint of shame in those lines as he said those.

“Hmph, a Mage and a Bandit. Talk about a match made in hell.” Lucas said as he sprinted towards Joshua causing the two to lock their blades.

The troops there present watched as Lucas overpower Joshua with his Chainax, the Dirus and Shinomori Stormtroopers tensed up seeing one of their commanders of the defense being pinned down by the leader of the enemy forces. But that did little to phase Joshua who simply sidestepped once more and then swung the chainsword in a horizontal arc wounding Lucas in the side causing him to let out a pained groan and glare at Joshua who kept a calm look on his face.

“I’ll make sure that your death will be slow.” Lucas said as his Chainax split in two turning into a pair of smaller Chainaxes as he threw the second one at Joshua taking them by surprise as it embedded itself into his shoulder causing blood to gush out from the wound.

“Father!” Mark called out to him instinctively, but Joshua kept a stoic look on his face as he simply ripped the Chainax off causing him to let out a sigh.

As the two walked towards one another both of them bleeding out from their wounds. The first thing that Lucas did as soon as he was within range was for him to swing his remaining Ax at Joshua where the second one had landed but Joshua grabbed it with the remaining strength that he has left. But then Joshua proceeded to headbutt Lucas causing him to stagger back, and then was followed by a kick in the chest causing him to fall to the ground and his ax to clatter lifelessly on the ground.

“Do it.” Lucas said staring down the chainsword that was revving before him. But in an act that surprised everyone.

“Enough blood has been spilled, call off the assault and we’ll settle this by law.” Joshua said as he turned off the chainsword and started walking away.

But as soon as he was a few meters away, Lucas stood up and pulled out a pistol and shouted ‘Die!’ at him. The others tried to make a move, Mark himself tried as fast as he can to switch to Pridwen so he can protect—Bang! All eyes turn to Miriam who was panting heavily as she continued to empty an entire magazine on Lucas who was now been covered in bullet holes and slumped to the ground.

“Clint...Alice…I’m sorry…” Lucas whispered as he finally died, Joshua looked onwards and found that several trucks containing the Amaryllis symbol of the Archimans now arriving.

And thus the Siege of Fenrir is over.
