A new story by a first time author. My aim is to make a story of a somewhat cultivation/litrpg style. But I will be trying to pull away from a lot of the standard tropes, but not all of them. For example I am not going to use stats, as I've always been thrown out when early on in a story a 5 point increase to strength takes someone from slightly fit to lifting cars, but by the midway point they are adding hundreds of points into it without noticing any difference at all, while still not exactly doing superman feats of strength.This story will have roots within some scientific concepts which aren't currently fully understood, and will assign mystical purpose to some of these things. As mentioned this is my first attempt at writing a story. To be frank I'm not as worried about my grammatical performance as I am in how my ideas flow and if people like my storytelling style. So while I'm open to critique, I'd prefer it was aimed at those aspects.  ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************Rent, groceries, violence on the news. The world can be a depressing place, and for some who wish to remain in it, but cannot stand to look those ugly truths in the eyes fantasy is an escape. So what happens when fantasy comes to the world. What happens when the things which had kept you down are no longer an insurmountable obstacle, when they become nothing but a small hill on a path to discovery, to power. Power can corrupt, but it can also show the truth of a person. A nice person can be scoured clean by power, and then you can see past that layer of nice and see what was truly in the shape of their soul. The world is more complicated than good or evil, and sometimes a selfish act, normally an evil thing can generate good, and sometimes selflessness, a good act, can be the cause of much evil. How would power change you?
