It had not taken long to get used to the lovely feeling of being able to bounce out of bed fully refreshed and Adam was tempted to forego further exploration of the mine purely so he would wake in camp and have this back. He felt better than the previous morning as he had managed to conserve a few points of stamina prior to sleeping but there was still a crick in his neck and he had to resist the urge to roll over and try to go back to sleep.
His morning was similar to the one before. He cleared the spiders out of the mine to keep Ti and Rai safe and headed to camp to check on the progress the vermite had made. With more vermite in camp the progress was good. Each of the marked fields had been cleared of stones with a low wall surrounding them and regular furrows marking their completion. He linked with the vermite followers and collected 50 exp from them. Ma had added another seven vermite to those based in the camp bringing the total to 33 vermite if you included Ti, Rai and the pups in the number. As well as the fields there was progress on the training area with an archery butt that had been set up by Cade. Most impressive was the wall surrounding the inner camp that was now six to eight feet all the way around and had been strengthened with stones to the height of Adam's waist.
Cae had gained another 30 exp by hunting out foxes allowing him to reach level 3 already and Jay successfully shot down a bird to complete his quest and get to level 2. Adam then checked in with Sharky who had now explored 70% of the underwater cliff; killed multiple level 5-10 creatures and found another cauldron with some metal spoons that he had left on the shore. Adam gained 172 exp from Sharky which meant that Adam's favourite sea-going follower was now level 9. Adam left Sharky to complete his exploration quest. Adding the 66 exp from the vermite at the mine; 50 from the other vermite and 172 from Sharky Adam had enough to level one of his skills. He chose Creation leaving him with only one skill needed to get to level six and 107exp in the bank.

Malakai watched as the Transcendent called Adam - level 5 sat and meditated. He recognised the technique for strengthening his mana as Adam built the channels down towards his feet. He took notes about Adam's aura and looking closer saw a number of symbiotic links to the semi-sapient race of ratfolk that were living under his camp. So, thought Malakai, this is the strangest approach yet. The protections of the starting area where a Transcendent appeared on a world was designed to try and slowly challenge and develop their fighting style before entering the more competitive areas. Instead Adam had camped here and showed little sign of moving on preferring to spend time developing an inferior race.
More notes were added to his pad as Adam moved around the camp and started to sharpen the end of a stick to fashion a spear. Malakai raised an eyebrow as fire mana was then used to strengthen the end of the spear. The control shown was better than that of the mana used earlier and Malakai was sure it was also a different type. He nodded in confirmation as he watched on while Adam manipulated first metal mana to purify some iron and then heated and wrapped this around the spearhead with fire mana. The manipulation was crude and basic but if he could form three types of mana it would be worth returning to this world again. This thought in his head Malakai stepped into the void to continue his first lap of the worlds.

He had an odd feeling like he was being watched that had given Adam hope that he would be successful in creating a weaponsmith profession. Unfortunately this was not the case. He looked at the spear, proud of his development with metal manipulation that had allowed him to create the tip. Though there was no new profession he had still received a notfication on its completion.
You have created Iron Tipped Spear. You gain 10 exp.
Iron Tipped Spear. Attack +1. He still had little idea what these extra attributes did despite using Inspect to gain extra information. Attack: increases attack power and damage. Defence: Increases defence and decreases damage taken. He could sense missing elements that suggested there were other similar attributes that he could also imbue into weapons and armour. Magic defence and magic attack might be useful; or speed and strength enhancements he thought. He found his bow by the archery and picked this up along with a quiver of arrows sitting next to it. Then he set out from the camp towards the forest to enact the next stage of his plan to get a Spear Class.

With stealth and sure shot activated Adam first used his bow to bring down bats one at a time before a spear through the head or heart finished them off. As he predicted, with the second bat killed came the notification:
Spear Wielder:
Class Description Skills Spear Wielder Unlocked by defeating two creatures with a spear. Increased proficiency with spears. A versatile Combat Class able to mix offense and defence with limited ranged capabilities.
Please pick initial skill:
[javelin]; [pierce]; [split]; [dodge]; [sweep]
Backing slowly out of the cave Adam sat and read through the skills. [javelin] used 1sp to return the spear to its wielder when thrown; [pierce] gave increased damage when used against armoured foes; [split] caused the spear to split in half on attacking, each causing the same damage as the original for 2sp; [dodge] increased the users reaction time and awareness for half an hour at 1sp per activation; [sweep] was the same skill as the staff wielder class creating a wave of energy that pushed back enemies for 1sp. After a little thought he chose [split] as he hoped this would be the most useful skill to his followers even though he would be unlikely to spend much time with the spear to use it himself.
His first objective Adam returned to cautiously picking off the bats at the edge of the colony. After eight easy options he decided to call it a day rather than risk waking all the roosting bats by continuing.
Notifications:
You defeated 3 x Bat - level 5. You gain 150 exp
You defeated 5 x Bat - level 4. You gain 150 exp
Finally he was catching up with Sharky and his daily experience. With 300 exp from the bats Adam had enough to level his final skill and reach level 6. He jogged quickly out of the forest and found himself on the rocks by the shipwreck. Sitting looking out over the sea he took a swig of water and made the necessary allocations. It was a slight anti-climax reaching level six. No building or strengthening of his core like he experienced at level five. Putting this thought to one side he used another 60 exp to increase Spear Wielder to level 3 and allocated his stat points.
Adam:

Childish superstition meant he placed two points in vitality rather than splitting one in each of vitality and recovery; he could always rebalance with his next class discovery. Noticing that his mana was now full he decided to practice with air mana. He was not far off finishing the channels that would allow him to manipulate the mana outside of his body. Sat crossed legged on the rocks with his eyes closed to improve his concentration he was initially oblivious to the effect that air mana was having. Each channelling was causing the bursts of air out and away from both of his feet. While sitting this was simply stirring the air and moving loose dust and pebbles on the rocks. As with the other mana types Adam was soon able to open his eyes while maintaining the ability to channel.
He stood to continue his practice. His first attempt ended with Adam lifting slightly off the ground before falling backwards into the rocks behind him; not expecting the pressure from beneath his feet. He sat astounded for a moment, he had literally just left the ground, did this mean that air mana would let him fly? An excited grin crossed his face as he quickly moved to softer ground to experiment further.
Half an hour later he had exhausted all his mana to discover that he was far from flying. Aiming the air mana directly down would lift him a foot from the ground before he would fall back down again. Aiming slightly backwards while moving propelled him forwards. The priniciple was there though. Adam was sure with time and more power he had discovered the power of flight. Given this was not practical at the moment he tried to think of other practical applications of the mana as he set back off to camp.
