The clash of cold weapons echoed on the peak of a lofty mountain, serving as a mere backdrop to the masked woman observing the ancient temple, radiating an age-old presence.
'I Hope we get what we came for', she thought, turning her gaze to a brown-haired man with a sizable round shield. Wondering if he shared her sentiments.
Boom!
A green-scaled creature stumbled, crashing to the ground and sending a cloud of dust into the air. Then, a multicolored stream of energy emanated from the tiny black rhombus jewel in the middle of its temples, entering the opaque jewel situated in the center of a stout man's temples.
Ha! Ha!
Panting, he tightened his grip on his shield, approaching the woman with metallic boots clanking on the hard ground. "One wish remains. Remember, a stubborn brat," he chuckled, eliciting a chuckle from the masked woman.
Yellowish energy billowed around her as the earth beneath rose, gently carrying her to the temple's door. Observing the glyphs that began glowing, sensing her presence, the woman was about to speak when space twisted. In the blink of an eye, appearing in an unfamiliar temple, her eyes widened as she marveled at the exotic materials used to construct this otherworldly hall.
In the heart of the hall lay a pool, shimmering akin to sapphire, encircled by four resplendent white pillars. "Clear your mind and articulate your desire," intoned Danielle, the enigmatic woman beneath the mask, as she absorbed the inscriptions on the wall before turning her gaze toward the bewitching pool.
"I wish…"
For decades, she had yearned for a day like this, pleading with her husband to adopt since conceiving was beyond their reach.
However, this notion seemingly met an unresolved fate. As hunters now classified at Threat level C, her husband unexpectedly resurrected this myth, substantiating his claims with the diary of an unknown deceased entity.
"I wish for a boy, one with charm..." Her thoughts were abruptly interrupted as the temple quivered, debris cascading onto her head.
Unfazed by the abrupt disruption, she, an Elementalist deeply connected to the earth, maintained her composure. The ancient writings, known as glyphs, illuminated, unveiling a gradual manifestation within the water.
In what felt like an eternity, a child, draped in water, levitated above the pool of water, his lustrous raven hair cascading gracefully as it shimmered in the dim light.
Danielle's frame trembled, and she sank to her knees, her eyes widened to their utmost limit.
Despite harboring numerous expectations, the reality surpassed even her most hopeful visions. After years of traversing this enchanting realm, no colossal spirit beast could rival this moment.

Hastening forward, she gently cradled the child, whose tiny limbs waved in the air, while his pitch-black eyes explored the surroundings with unwavering curiosity.
'Don't most of them cry?' Danielle's thoughts raced, prompting her to gently tap the baby's bottom. His large eyes widened, tears clouding their beautiful gaze, and Danielle felt her heart constrict.
Before she could intervene, space twisted, transporting her outside the temple. Instead of the blood-drenched battlefield, a breathtaking expanse unfolded – adorned with trees boasting pink leaves, a serene sky, and her party gazing at her in astonishment.
Abruptly, a baby's cry shattered the air, causing the formidable Elementalist to become flustered. "Danielle, remove your mask!" a woman shouted, and Danielle promptly complied.
In that moment, David, her husband, arrived, accompanied by the rest of the team. "Look! He stopped crying," Danielle said, as if achieving a significant feat. She reached out for the baby's face, only to have him catch her finger, cradling it with its both tiny hands.
Removing his coat, David gently wrapped the kid and they got onto their spirit mounts and descended from the mountain.
An hour later, they arrived before a towering obsidian monolith with three open circles right above the other, situated at the center of the monolith. The circles were surrounded by glyphs.
"Brace yourself, we're approaching the R. Gate," a party member said and the others nodded.
A bright white light blinded them but it was only for a few seconds before a white space crowded with mythical creatures as mounts, battle pets, spirit energy powered vehicles, and people garbed in medieval armor with a modern touch.
'Back to Earth. Ah!... Smell that? It's our world welcoming us back.'
'What a load of crap,' another team member retorted while the others chuckled.
No one gave their B rank party with only two talents a second glance but this was to the couple's advantage.
After all, what would be more eye catching than a baby in a vast space populated with people with superhuman abilities.
Once they bade farewell to their companions after rejecting their offer to follow them home several times, Danielle and David boarded a green hover car and zoomed off.
Staring at the sleeping child's adorable face with a doting smile, Danielle pondered for a moment and mustered enough courage to caress his soft hair.
"It's unbelievable isn't it. A child from a wishing temple," David said, watching the road as he firmly held the steering.
The greenery and desirable air of this city far above others in the empire. Emerald City wasn't just in the name alone, the color of the skyscrapers and most designs also had the same color.
It was almost a tradition.
"He's my child David, not Terra's."
"D… David!" David's eyes trembled for this was the first time in a long while she called him by his name.
Shortly after, the couple reached their home, a duplex situated in the middle-class area of Emerald City. Wearing a radiant smile, Danielle left David behind and carried the baby to the bathroom. As she carefully unwrapped him, her smile faded, and the remote controlling the bathroom functions slipped from her grasp.
"HONEY!" Danielle's scream echoed through the house, prompting him to rush into the bathroom.
The first thing that seized his attention was the radiant Ruby jewel adorning his son's temples.
David stood frozen at the doorway, and in that moment, the veil of joy dissipated as he discerned the peculiar beauty of the child.
A spirit jewel that wasn't opaque was beyond human attributes; only Hunters possessed jewels on Earth, while the only other beings adorned with jewels were the beasts and monsters on Terra.
The realization struck – there was only one group of Terra's inhabitants with Ruby jewels: The Divines!
