Chapter 15

I stood in front of a mirror as the maids flocked me, their hands weaved in impressive speed as they dressed me up. It was pretty embarrassing the first few times, but the dress I had to wear had many accessories to attach to, so I was happy that someone was helping me.

“Now, when you go to the party, the first people you must greet are the Lord and Lady Sitri. Then if you were to meet the Satans, greet the Satans in order, Lord Lucifer, Lord Beelzebub, Lady Leviathan, and finally Lord Asmodeus.” my etiquette teacher, Henrietta Eligos, the youngest sister of the current lord Eligos, instructed me.

Though I wanted to complain about all the bullshit things I would have to do, something else caught my attention. It was the way she said Lady Leviathan, I could hear something when she said it.

{“Do you know Lady Leviathan?”} I asked. At least it sounded like they knew each other.

“Who wouldn't? She is a satan. Every devil in hell knows who she is.” she looked at me like I was an idiot to even ask that.

I clicked my tongue at that, I should have worded it properly so she couldn't dismiss it.

{“Does Lady Leviathan know you?”}

“I would think so, I have been in the underworld for a long time. So it would make sense for her to at least hear of me.”

I felt my eyebrow twitch.

“You should give more thought before you ask questions. But I will not annoy you any further, I fear your eyebrow would detach itself if it twitched any further.”

I did not pout. Definitely not.

“To answer your wrongfully worded question, I do indeed know Lady Leviathan, i have met her quite a few times.”

{“And?, I feel like there is much more that you are not telling me.”}

“Sigh. you are infuriating. It is not like knowing my personal opinion on Lady Leviathan would do you any good.” she dismissed it with a wave of her hand.

{“Wouldn't it? I have not met any of the Satans, so wouldn't it be really useful to know about them?”}

I felt her burning a hole through the back of my head, “No. and if you were to ask it from Serafall, I shall make you regret it.”

I blinked my eyes, did I mishear correctly, {“did you call her Serafall, instead of Lady Leviathan?”}

“No. you misheard.” she lied through her teeth as easy as breathing.

Of course, I probably misheard….like hell I misheard! There is some juicy information that she doesn't want me to know, sadly for her, I am the type of person who likes to dig out juicy stuff like that.

Oh, maybe she also taught serafall etiquette? Wait…my mind ran through, comparing their ages, and then realized that she was younger than Serafall, so it would not be possible.

Alright, I'll let it be for now, but I will learn what she is hiding.

With the maids dressing me, Henrietta continued her instructions, shoving things that I should know to my head, well mostly she was reminding me of things that I had already known of.

After minutes of experiencing the horrors of being a doll, the maids finally finished. I looked at my reflection in the mirror.

My dark brown hair was styled in a windswept fashion with a longer fringe that hung from the right side of my face. It faded to amber brown at the tips and is pulled back in a long ponytail that falls above my waist.

My attire was elegant and form-fitting, consisting of a beige dress shirt, a brown and amber waistcoat, slim black trousers, black dress boots, and black gloves. My neckpiece was a white tie pinned at the throat by an amber gemstone.

Over everything, I wore a long dark brown tailcoat with dragon scale-like patterns, gold and silver accents, golden tassels, and the morax sigil, which was a diamond symbol that had four little diamonds on each corner, on the back. My clothes were decorated with diamond symbols found on my sleeves, belt, trousers, waistcoat buttons, and tailcoat buttons.

The morax do like diamonds, well even our clan sigil is just five diamonds, one big diamond in the middle, joined by four little diamonds in the corners.

I gave my reflection a smug smirk. I look good, I can already envision how much trouble my handsomeness will get me in trouble in the future.

“Now if you would stop trying to fall in love with your reflection, I would like to get back to our lesson.” Henrietta insisted.

I rolled my eyes at it, she has already taught me all that, and she doesn't have to revise it to me again.

“Keep rolling your eyes. You might eventually find your brain” Henrieta quipped, “you need to do your best, it is not only your reputation at the line. Since I am your teacher, your mistakes reflect upon me. Thus, you would need to be perfect.”

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

{“fine.”}, I swear when I am strong enough, I will kick proper etiquette away and embrace the way of a laid-back powerhouse—strutting into high-class parties wearing a Hawaiian shirt, and pair of short pants, and flip-flops. Well, I won't wear flip-flops, the flip-flops are more of a metaphor.

“Good. Then let us go through everything once more.”

I walked down the stairs, I saw that the others were already waiting for me, which honestly made me kinda annoyed at the fact that I was late.

“Looking sharp kid.” beidou commented.

“Did little Henrietta give you a hard time?” yelan asked knowingly.

{“yeah…”} I sighed tiredly.

“Don't mind her, she is trying to remake her reputation.” yelan commented. But her words caught my interest.

{“remake her reputation?”} I parroted, was she some kind of delinquent or something?

“Yeah, you know she-”

“Yelan. It is not good to bring up others pasts.” keqing interrupted.

“Well, I guess you of all people would like it if the past stayed in the past. Oh, by the way, how are your dolls?” yelan replied, a smirk directed at keqing.

“Dolls. I do not know about any dolls. The spice you eat must have melted your brain.” keqing denied, though, from the slight blush coloring her cheeks, I realized that she might be lying. And not about spice melting Yelan's brain, cause I can totally imagine that happening.

{“What dolls?”}

“Heh, why, dolls of r-” yelan opened her mouth, but a bolt of lightning that shot toward her made her stop her words and dodge it. “My, my, there is no need to get violent all of a sudden. Lulu is family, you shouldn't hide things from family.”

Mother sighed. “Yelan, keqing. If you two were to damage something, I would be taking the costs out of your paychecks.”

“How terrible.” yelan pouted.

“Hmph. tell her not to pointlessly open her mouth.” keqing huffed but relented, though she was still sending glares that could kill a lesser man towards yelan.

“C’mon you two, let go. After all, today would be the day little Lulu gets to meet his peers. And maybe a phoenix would drop by. You do remember what I taught you right?” beidou asked me, to which I nodded my head.

… I smirked inwardly. The bet was still on, and unfortunately for them, my never no money had already assured me of my victory. But they can stay clueless for the moment.

I placed my hand in my pant pocket, feeling the item that I bought from never no money. Although it was slightly expensive, it was a worthwhile expenditure.

A pat on my head broke me out of my thoughts, I looked up and saw Ningguang looking at me with a smile. “You ready?”

{“I was born ready.”} I replied with confidence.

“Good.”

A yellow-gold magical circle appeared under our feet, the sigil of the morax clan lay in the centre of it—the magic circle of the morax clan.

I felt the magic of the circle grab me, it connected me and the rest, I felt a gentle tug, and the surroundings brightened to yellow momentarily. The next moment opening my eyes, we were in a different area.

a couple of maids and butlers were standing in front of a huge ornate door. As soon as they saw us, they bowed.

“Greetings to you, Lady Morax.” the butler took a step forward and gave a respectful bow to Mother. He turned towards me, and also gave me a bow, “Greetings Heir Morax.”

Mother and I both gave a nod of acknowledgment to the butler. However, it rubbed me the wrong way not to greet him back.

You see, classes are important in the underworld. The separation between classes is very crucial.

The butler in front of us must be at most a mid-class devil (socially), even though his demonic power is at the level of a high-class one.

A high-class devil should not bow or even acknowledge devils who are ranked lower than them, even if that devil is an ultimate class. Though that last part is stupid, only a complete dumbass will ignore an ultimate class devil, regardless if she or he was a low or mid-class socially speaking. Like, an ultimate class could easily kill dozens of high class. easily.

Unfortunately, according to proper etiquette, that is how hell works.

Now, as said before, a high-class devil should not bow or even reply to greetings given by those of the lower class. But…

Mother gave the butler a nod of acknowledgment, as did I

.… doesn't mean you couldn't give them at least a nod.

“Please follow me, I shall announce your presence to the banquet.” the butler turned around and walked towards the door, and we followed. Mother in the lead, me a step behind her, and the rest walked together a step behind me.

If mother had a queen, they would walk a step behind mother on her right, signifying the position as their second in command. And I would be walking on her left, signifying me as her heir.

The butler opened the door, he walked forward, a blue magical circle in front of his mouth.

“The pillar of morax. Lady Ningguang morax. Heir Lucrecio morax. And the peerage of Lady Morax, have arrived.” the butler announced, his voice reaching the entire ballroom.

I felt the eyes of the entire hall look towards me. My qi transmitted their intentions, most of them. Some were looking at me with curiosity, others with confusion, some happy, and others sad. There were also some whose intentions I could not read, or sense in this case.

I was notified about this.

Ningguang Morax was a very influential devil, she is the most sought devil right after, serafall leviathan. She is after all one of the few unmarried female devils in the underworld.

Since she had no husband, there was some pressure from the council of devils, or as Bediou and Yelan call them, the council of senile cunts, for her to get married and have an heir. And since as most anyone knows, I am her biological son, so, those who were hoping to marry her are probably hating me right now.

Since she has an heir, those oldies can't pressure her to get married. Well, they could if I was a half-devil, which I was not. So, most of those eligible bachelors are currently gritting their teeth at their delusions crumbling apart.

New Liyue is completely under the control of morax, meaning no spies from other pillars are there, or those present are double spies who secretly work for Ningguang and relay false information to other pillars. Well, technically they work for yelan, but potato, tomato.

So, most of the devils probably learned of my existence due to their informants, who secretly work for yelan, who relayed information of me being her secret biological son who was kept away from devil society until now.

Heh. You know I was kinda afraid at first, but now? I feel a grin try to worm itself onto my face.

My eyes met those who were staring at me. Some gave me nods of acknowledgment, others gritted their teeth, and others were mostly indifferent.

Let the party begin.

-the end.

Whew, finally, lucrecio has entered the public eye.

I was kinda wondering if I should do one of those online reactions after the party chapter, you know, like someone posting a picture of lucrecio and people start commenting under the post, discussing him.

Though I don't know if I would do that, if I were to do that, I would be taking recommendations for usernames.

Anyway, Merry Christmas, this chapter was supposed to be posted two days ago, but relatives and all that made it impossible for me to edit this.
