Money can be viewed as the root of all evil. Something that everyone needs to survive. Something that fuels one's cravings and addictions.
Money can be anything and any other thing. It has no shape, it remains completely shapeless and can transform into anything the user wishes.
It can bring forth countless desires and endless pleasures.
Money can grant you power and control over anyone weak enough to submit to its hold over you.
It can change person into something ugly. Someone they never imagined they could become.
Along with money comes greed.
Along with greed follows lust and gluttony.
Greed is a disease that completely controls a person. A never ending desire to satisfy one's desire of things which has no end.
Along the deathly hollows of a deceased forest hosted a large kingdom where Greed resided. His kingdom was built from other people's things. The demon easily manipulated other people's greed to acquire the things that he possessed.
People were that willing to give their souls to him if it meant they could live a wonderful short life.
Mammon pitied them, yet took great pride with exploiting them. Their desires were all the same. They wanted fame, money and power. He often warned them that they wouldn't live long enough to truly enjoy but time held no power over them.
Their souls were sold off like candy. They did whatever Mammon requested of them. No matter how dirty and low the deed was they did it just so they could get their reward.
Being the personification of greed itself, Mammon always had a feeling of want. A desire that could never be satisfied.
Whatever people wanted, he needed. Whatever he didn't have, he needed. Whatever he needed, he couldn't need enough.
The thing he wanted most was power. He wished to overrule the current leader of Hell. The Devil himself, Belial. In order to do this he would have to take over the forces of the other seven deadly sins.
He already took from a former friend without any sign of guilt or remorse. But, he wasn't finished, there was still things to take from the daughter of Amon.
Mammon rested in a golden throne, wearing robes made from the finest silk. Resting on his head was a crown he believed he deserved.
Decorating his room were portraits of himself. In the corners were chests filled with gold and stacks of money which he used to bribe the humans.
"It isn't enough. It'll never be enough. Not until I claim rulership over Hell itself."
There were no laws in Hell. Anything was possible and the Demons did whatever they desired. However, challenging the Devil himself for his throne was considered taboo. Nobody was stupid enough to even think of such a thing.
Mammon was the only one with such tenacity to go there.
Approaching Mammon was one of his Demon knights, cladded in armor. He bowed upon greeting his lord.
"Sir, the preparations are set. We'll be ready to depart at any given moment."
"Good. Don't leave anything behind. Take everything from Hela."
"Very well."
The knight left his lord alone and went to prepare their army. They were going to bombard Hela's castle with a lot of fire power that even she wouldn't be able to hold her own against.
Meanwhile, over at Hela's castle.
Akihisa watched as Hela tortured the humans who were cursed here for all eternity. It was a gruesome scene, watching men be torn apart by machines that stretched them apart.
It was impossible to think due to the constant screaming and sound of flesh being flayed apart. The worst part being that they would have to endure this forever as they couldn't escape their fate.
Hela watched all of this with a smirk as she stood next to Akihisa with her hand running through his strands of hair.
"Isn't it sad? How could someone allow a person to be tortured like this? The world becomes a scary place for those who aren't 'saved'."
"I don't know."
"I kind of feel bad for them."
"But, you still continue to torture them?"
"It's my job and I love my job."
"Right."
"We all have a job to fulfil, Akihisa. Even you."
"I plan on accomplishing this job, don't worry. I'm all charged up. Just give me the word."
"Good boy. I look forward to seeing you in action."
Just outside Hela's castle a group of soldiers were standing in a line, preparing for the frontal attack. They combined their energy to summon a wave of flames which took the form of a demonic behemoth before it rammed into the building, causing it to rumble.
"Good, keep that up and we'll flush them out."
"Prepare the troops to enter the kingdom and kill anyone who gets in our way."
"Roger."
The lesser Demons were ordered to invade the building while the assault unit kept on attacking the building which caused cracks to form along the foundation.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
When Hela felt the building tremble she knew what was happening. They were being attacked and she knew only one person who would come to destroy what little she had now.
"Mammon." She whispered.
"What's happening?" Akihisa asked, slightly concerned.
"Looks like he beat us to the punch."
"Who did?"
"Mammon."
"It doesn't matter who strikes first. The only thing that counts is the end results."
"Why don't we go entertain our guests?"
Storming through the castle, the lesser Demons hopped around on all fours. They clung to the side of the walls and attacked any guards that came into contact. Unfortunately, they lacked power and so most of them were easily swatted.
Their blood flushed along the floor and the walls and their numbers were greatly reduced. The guards made their way outside and were instantly flattened by a large fiery hand which came from the behemoth.
Anything that left that building would be crushed. The action was repeated three times and instantly flattened the guards stupid enough to exit.
As Hela came along the entrance the guards stopped her and informed her of how dangerous the situation was.
"Don't worry about it, Akihisa will take care of them."
After saying a strong impact was felt as the building shook and a piece of it fell off and crumbled amongst the ground. The guards quivered in fear while Hela turned her head to the entrance.
"'I'll get right to it."
Akihisa casually walked for the entrance. When the behemoth saw his appearance it immediately sent a hand flying in his direction.
Seeing this, Akihisa raised his head up to witness it before it crashed down into him causing smoke and debris to kick up.
The behemoth smiled and chuckled until Akihisa appeared floating in its face.
Akihisa opened a palm as he began to manipulate the structure of the creature. The flames spiraled out of control and the Demon mages couldn't keep the monster's shape and soon it faded.
With that taken care of, Akihisa turned his attention to the Demon army and simply produced a large volley of air spheres before he fired them out toward the party. The force of it kicked up dust and ripped apart the monsters that it managed to hit.
"Is this the best you Demons are capable of?" Akihisa taunted.
The knight examined the Nephilim and decided their best course of action would be to cut this being down.
"He's leaking with divine energy. It'd be in our best interest to cut him down now."
"Mammon may want him though. Think how happy he'll be with an Angel for a pet."
"That isn't wise. You know they prove fatal to us, much like a poison."
The knight drew his longsword and managed to cut through the air, deliver a stream of flames towards Akihisa.
"So feeble. Manipulating each element comes easy to me." Akihisa held out a hand to catch the flames in midair before he began to alter its shape and form. He altered the element itself to water.
He forged various spikes from this water and sent it out, stabbing into the few remaining Demons, however the knight was able to guard against the attack with his trusty blade.
"You truly are something, Angel."
"Please, I'm hardly an Angel."
Akihisa descended to the ground and began to approach the knight.
The knight held his ground and kept his hands firmly on his blade and in a quick burst, rushed the Nephilim.
He swung his blade in a firm motion and easily sliced through the thin boy. Blood of an Angel stained his sword and its head was seen rolling along the ground.
The lavender haired male was headless, but was still standing.
With the Demon's guard down, the male reached a hand inside of him, connecting their bodies to one another. His hand explored through his insides until he reached the organ he wanted to crush and gladly he did so.
"You shouldn't have been... able to heal this fast..." The Demon said before the life left his eyes.
"I always wanted to know how it would feel to lose my head, hahaha! I must say it isn't what I expected! Still, my aim is as good as ever. That aura of yours is a dead give away!" Akihisa chuckled as his head was reduced to dust.
His purple aura soon infused along where his head should have been and began constructing a new one. He tilted it around before removing his hand from the knight's body and watched as he dropped.
"How disappointing... I was hoping to face someone more challenging."
"You won't feel that way for long. We're going to Mammon's place." Hela said as she walked toward the Nephilim.
"As you wish."
"I just have one demand; I'm the one who's going to finish him."
