When the message came he said immediately without hesitation.
“Yes”
—The scan on your iris and vein has determined that you are an unregistered user. Do you want to create a new account?—
When Kai was connected to Royal Road, the first sound that reached his ears was a feminine voice that was coming around him.
He looked around to see who had spoken to him, but there was no one else; a space within the universe. Then he realized that he was in the middle of the activation process of a new account.
“Yes”
— Select the name of your Avatar—
“Neo” Neo was his username since the first time he played games that required his name. It also means “new” and “young” being a first timer in every game he played it was suited to him as he always starts to make new in the game.
— Select your gender from Male, Female or Neutral—
“Male”
— Royal Road has forty-nine races. You may select your race from the primary twenty-nine races—
“Human” Kai didn’t hesitate as he answered all of it because he already plan it long before.
— You may alter your appearance—
“Keep my appearance, don’t change anything.”
— Your account has been activated. Your stats and class shall be determined while you are playing Royal Road¬—
“Pass!”
— Select a city and kingdom you want to start.
“Audhumla City Capital of Kingdom of Ymir”
— Welcome to Royal Road—
“Skip!”
He didn’t want to waste even a second, Kai skipped the tutorial stage and made quick decisions according to his prearranged plan.
In Royal Road, there are over a hundred major cities and thousands of towns. A new player begins his adventure in a capital or a major city of comparable size.
Kai and his friends pick different kingdoms to start their adventure through draw lots, Kai pick the Kingdom of Ymir he didn’t know the kingdoms that his friends pick but there are only three major Human Kingdoms in the central you can start with and the others are free city-states. They can choose Halfling but they all chose to become humans because it was the most balanced among the races.
*Flash*
With a flash of light, he appeared in the Audhumla City Capital of Kingdom of Ymir.
Neo was swayed by the sight of countless avatars, users and NPCs—Non-Player Characters—alike, that he thought he was lost in the middle of Tokyo.
“Wow! Unbelievable!”
“Where am I?”
“Nina where are you?”
“I’m here sis.”
Astonished, Neo couldn’t believe his eyes as he looked around. The racket of those haggling and chattering rang in his ears. The view unfolding before his eyes was exactly the same as the real world, with people busy coming and going.
He lowered his eyes to his legs standing on the ground. His senses told him that it felt absolutely solid. Users passed him by as he stood in a daze. Many users start also in the Kingdom of Ymir and they are grouping themselves, some is exercising while the others is jumping. Obviously they can’t comprehend what is happening to them even though they know they are playing the virtual reality game, first-hand experience was still unbelievable and exciting.
No matter how thoroughly Neo had prepared, his knowledge of virtual reality and his research into the game system came second to the strange experience he was having now. He close-open his fist, jump and stamp hard on the ground.
*Inhale* *Exhale* ‘Even the air feels so real’
While passing by, some users threw fleeting remarks over their shoulders. Though it wasn’t directly to him they stung him enough to pull himself together. They were the group of kill-joy although they can’t believe also what happening to them they threw jokes and other remarks to the other users so they look like a professional and lessen their excitement.
‘Now where do I start now? That’s right I need to look for the map of this city.’ He is in front of the big fountain in the Central Square.
He had been bewildered, but it was temporary, and he soon calmed down, differences also began to catch his eye.
His senses were consistent with reality, yet there are people around that were clad in armor or wearing leather vests.
‘Those are probably the NPC guards, knights or mercenaries. They said you can hire mercenary to help you on your adventure in the game.’ He said to himself.
Close to the spot where he had shown up was a bulletin board exhibiting maps and descriptions of Audhumla City Capital of Kingdom of Ymir, and directions for using the basic interface.
The Audhumla City is divided to four by towering walls, the palace of the King beneath the Audhumla Mountain located in the innermost part of the city where the royalty and the King reside followed by the 1st district or noble district which the nobles and aristocrats manor is located, the 2nd district is which is also called the business district where different landmark is located like the City Hall, Audhumla Library, Intelligence guild, Training Hall and different guild where you can get a class. The Central Square in the 2nd district is also respawn point of new users starting at Audhumla City Capital of Kingdom of Ymir. The 3rd district or they called the slums area where the poor people reside.
“Inventory Window”
Given the preset keyword, the semitransparent images of all the belongings in Neo’s inventory floated in front of his eyes. Inside his inventory were a canteen and ten pieces of rye bread. That was all given to him as he starts in Royal Road.
A newcomer in Royal Road is confined to the city of origin for a week in real world and four weeks in the game, thanks to the parallax between one place and the other.
A great majority of newcomers were getting down to basics, simple quests, or learn craft skills, such as tailoring, blacksmith and cooking, which are relatively easy to acquire.
The game boasts of its unrestricted flexibility, almost to the extent of disorder, and while all the highest ranking positions are still occupied by NPCs instead of users, this reinforces the need for personal contacts.
Neo walked around the city admiring the classic feeling, the arts, roads, houses and people were set up like in middle ages. He stops in front of the fountain to refill his canteen of water and continue his sightseeing. He passes through the library, training hall, restaurants, crafts guild, warrior’s guild, magicians’ guild, rogues guild, archer’s guild, and etc.
‘Hmm there is so many class to choose from, although warrior is seems fit to me. It was still early to decide what class suits me.’ He said to himself as he walks in the street with guild built around him.
He stops in the building besides the town hall. The building in front of him is like a small castle with towers on both sides, there are guards with full plate armor with spear and shields on their hands below the signboard with the name Intelligence guild.
The intelligence guild gives counsel to users, depending on their stats and skills. The intelligence guild classifies them into two groups—combat classes (melee and supportive) and craft classes, including merchants.
Although Neo knows some basic profession from the RPG he played in the past but in Royal Road they have hundreds of thousands professions and the Unicorn said also there are hidden classes on very rare occasions if you passed the requirements.
The Intelligence guild is open to any user as long as he pleases. It’s just that newcomers are more interested in finding out what the kingdom and city where they were born look like.
The moment the guards saw Neo walk in the entrance, their eyes glared fiercely.
“Young adventurer, I presume you have arrived at the Bersa continent very recently,” the guard said.
“Yes Sir” Neo said immediately.
“The adviser for the combat classes is on the first floor right side of the lobby while the craft classes, including the merchant class are on the second floor. Do you need my guidance?” The guard asks Neo.
“Thank you, sir. That’s good enough. I don’t need any more guidance.” He said.
“Ok Good Luck”
In Royal Road, a new avatar’s level is locked for the first four weeks, for he is forbidden to travel beyond the city’s gate and to hunt monsters in the field.
It is most common to carry out as many quests as possible, thus building up favorable public service points, earning money and forming your own web of personal contacts.
On the other hand, a considerable number of users work in libraries or stores to make money.
Neo walk in the direction of the combat class that the guard told him he recognized there are some people like him asking for advice for what class that fits with them. They were mixed of NPC’s and users.
‘So it’s not only me that is excited to get a new class, hmm even NPC’s need advice for their profession.’ He said while watching different people inside as they lined up for their next turn.
There are four tables separated with huge pillar. The male users form lines in front of the second table while the female users form lines in the third tables. The first table is occupied with mix of NPC and users. As he walked to the fourth table he can see the adviser assign on the tables, on the first is a mature woman with purple hair and yellow eyes although she seems more than 30 years old, but her smile and sweet voice is her charm. On the second is a beautiful woman green eye with braid short blond hair and voluptuous body that fit with her dress. The third table is man on mid-twenties with a face like on a shoujo manga black hair and blue eyes with his every smile the girls go “kyaa, kyaa!.” The last table is an elder man with frown face every time the girls make noise seems like he’s irritated with the girls and the man on the table before him he seems over 50 years old.
He goes to the vacant table although he want to go on the other table it was occupied and he can’t wait that long, as he greets the elder man, the elder man with white hair and long beard just motions him to sit down and ask to show him his stat window.
“Show Stat Window!”

“I see Neo is your name, you have just arrived recently in the Bersa continent and you’re asking me for advice to what class fits you.” The elder man eyed Kai.
“Yes Sir” he answered shortly.
“Hmm I can’t suggest you a profession to take since you’re stats are normal and no other skills which you are specialized in. Since you’re here you are interested in combat class. Go outside and choose any classes you like from any Combat guild interests you and ask for training.” The elder man said looking at the Stats Window of Neo.
“Sir I check the guild outside but I don’t know yet what class I want, that’s why I’m here and asking for advice to what to do Sir.” He said as it was the first day of Royal Road, he wants more information besides the given combat class outside. If he just takes the first answer it will be like earlier. Although Neo have an idea what to do, he wants to have more options to choose from so in the end he won’t be reluctant on his decided profession.
“That’s not good. If you don’t know yet what profession you want, I can suggest something it’s up to you if you want.” The elder advisor explains to him the different class on what they can do, what stats and skills needed in each professions and what is the advantages and disadvantage of each class. Most of those facts Neo know already nothing interests him and it’s not what he wanted to ask. Although a melee profession suits him because of martial arts practitioner, Neo wants to try something new. He still listen and take note important things he will be needed.
‘Maybe I’ll go to warrior’s guild later or magician guild but magician lacks physical strength, you will just stand at the back and cast spells on the enemy. I tried it already in the past and it wasn’t thrilling.’ He said to himself as he wants a class they will need to move physically because of his background in real life. As he was contemplating on what to do after this something caught his attention.
“We also provide training here but only a few people choose that, because most of the people come here are excited to get a new class and go to adventure outside as soon as possible. Tsk! Most people these days don’t know that basic training is a foundation of a person. So young adventurer what do you want to do?” The elder man asks Neo.
“What do you mean training Sir?” Neo ask.
“Do you know about the Training Hall?” The elder man eyed him.
“Yes Sir, it was located beside the Warrior’s Guild and there were many scarecrows inside. The Instructor inside said you can train your sword skills inside for free.” He said, because earlier when he was walking around he take a peek inside and the Instructor in front ask him if he was interested to train his sword skills.
“I see, you visit the Training Hall already. The Instructor said was true but you can also upgrade your stats in the Training Hall by hitting the scarecrows.” The elder advisor said as he explains what you will gain inside the Training Hall.
“Is it true you can upgrade your stats by just hitting the scarecrows?” Neo ask repeating what the elder man said. He was shocked and can’t believe by just hitting the scarecrows you can upgrade your stats. Because once you logged in Royal Road you can’t go outside to level-up so a person can’t upgrade his stats for one month, but if you go and train inside the Training Hall you can upgrade it.
“Yes you can, but like the Training Hall we also provide training here to help build their skills and knowledge needed for adventure it was called Training Grounds. You need to last at least around three months to pass the tests so what will you do young adventurer?” The elder man asks Neo challenging him.
Neo think carefully before he answers, because it was three months for just training and you still don’t know what profession they will give you. One month you can leave the city to hunt and start you’re adventure, so basically you will be left behind for two months. Two months of leveling is long enough for you to reach high level, but they won’t just ask you to train for nothing like the Training Hall they increased your stats. He was thinking what training requires getting a class for three months and then he smile as he decided.
“I will accept whatever the training here for three months.” Neo said to the elder advisor with burning eyes.
“Are you sure? It won’t be an easy three months training, on the few people that trains there only 2-3 people out of 50 succeed on their training.” He asks again for confirmation as Neo was the first freeman who wants to join the Training Grounds.
“Yes Sir!” Neo said looking to the eyes of the elder advisor.
“Alright here is the recommendation, give it to Sir Arkham. Now go to the left side from the lobby and look for him. Ask them to train you, they will train you both physically and mentally for three months, you can come back here after your training and I will recommend you what best profession for you.” He gives a small piece of paper to Neo that was enclosed in the small envelope. As soon Neo receives the envelope he stands up and bows to give thanks to the elder advisor.
“Ping”
You have acquired a letter of recommendation for the Training Grounds.
“Thank you Sir, may I know what your name Sir?” He bow and asks the elder advisor
“Oh! I’m sorry I haven’t still given you my name how careless of me. My name is Grimnir” The one-eyed elder advisor said to him.
As he goes to the left side of lobby, he was amazed by the classical beauty of the long hallway there was paintings in the wall, sculptures of different combat classes and there was a beautiful garden with a pond beside the hallway. He reached the end of the hallway according to directions he received earlier he move upstairs and turn left, he asks the guard standing beside the room.
“Good day Sir my name is Neo and I would like to ask where I can find Sir Arkham.” Neo greets the soldier standing beside the door and asks where Sir Arkham is.
The guard was wearing full plate armor with a sword on his right waist. He eyed Neo first before he said. “What do you want with Sir Arkham?”
“I’m here to give a letter to Sir Arkham from Advisor Grimnir.” Neo said showing the envelope to the guard.
“Let me give it to him, just stay here and wait.” The guard took the letter and enters the room leaving Neo outside.
Neo only just started to play Royal Road and no fame cannot rebuke to the guard. He waited for the door to open and thinking what kind of person is Sir Arkham, he can’t possibly deny the recommendation because there is a letter from Advisor Grimnir. What kind of training I will have to do these three months. As he was thinking the door open immediately he didn’t have to wait that long.
The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
“You can come in now; Sir Arkham is waiting for you.” The guard said.
“Thank you Sir” Neo bowed and enter the room, as he entered he walked for a few meters to reached the door with glass window.
He knocks on the door and gets a response “come in”.
As he entered the room he could see Sir Arkham sat at the desk. The room was simple with the desk, three chairs and the large window behind him were black knitted rattan the floor was covered with blue carpet with regal design. Sir Arkham has a clean cut black hair he wore a long sleeved shirt with doublet on top, his red piercing eyes makes him speak what he has to do.
“I’m sorry Sir to disturb you on your work my name is Neo, I’m here because I was asked by Advisor Grimnir to train under the strong and respectable Sir Arkham.” Neo greet him with respect and made a good impression on his first meeting with his Instructor.
“Yes I read the letter of recommendation of Advisor Grimnir and was asked to enlist you in the Training Grounds.” Sir Arkham eyed him from head to toe and ask him. “Although there is a letter of recommendation, there will be an Entrance Exam before you join in the Training Grounds, I don’t want weak willed men to join under my ranks so I want to ask you if you still want to join in the coming Training Grounds?” Sir Arkham looked at Neo as he asks him if he truly wants to take join the Training Grounds he needs to pass the Entrance Exam.
‘Entrance Exam? The Adviser didn’t tell about that but I’m here already so I can’t back down now.’ He said to himself.
“I’m willing to join Sir, I will do whatever training that you want me to do Sir and I’m ready for the Entrance Exam you want to give me Sir.” He answered immediately. He knows that the training will not be easy although he was thinking what kind of Entrance Exam he needed to pass before he can join in the Training Grounds. He was full ready to do any kind of Entrance Exam and confidently can pass the Entrance Exam and the training that awaits him.
“We will see that if you are truly ready, the Entrance Exam will be after ten days from now. The location is in the first floor 3rd yard and the time is 0600 hours be sure do not be late, failure to arrive on time is considered ‘Failed’. That’s all, now go and prepare for the Entrance Exam.” He didn’t give him any information about what kind of Entrance Exam it is. Sir Arkham just shooed him away after he take the letter that was stamp ‘OK’ and Sir Arkham continued on his work.
Neo bowed and say “Thank you Sir” and leave the room. He asked the guard outside, where is the first floor 3rd yard that Sir Arkham was talking to. After he get the information he wants, he bowed and thank the guard also.
Neo walked in the direction of the Training Yard where the Entrance Exams will be held. It’s not that he cannot trust the guard he just wants to confirm it himself and want to see what kind of place it is. As he approached the Training Yard he was blocked by the guards and said. “Unauthorized person cannot enter this place.”
“Sorry Sir, I just want to see what kind of place where I will take the Entrance Exams to join for Training Grounds Sir.” Neo apologized immediately and being respectful and polite is one of his strong points.
“I see you are one of the participants, but we cannot allow any unauthorized person even the participants to enter till the Entrance Exam.” The guard eyed him with amazed expression.
“If that is the case Sir, I’m sorry Sir. I’ll come back again after ten days. Thank you for explaining it to me Sir.” He bowed and apologized to the guards.
The guard which was moved by the respectful attitude of Neo gave him an advice. “Ok listen to me don’t tell anybody what will I tell you. The Entrance Exam is consist of purely physical and don’t bring any weapons and armors with you, you won’t need it during the Entrance Exam. That’s all what I can give you.” The guard said as he gives advice to Neo.
“Thank you Sir, the information was a big help for me and I won’t tell anybody what you told me Sir.” Neo thanked him, he can’t believe that just by being respectful to the guards can give him information he needed during the Entrance Exam.
“Now go and prepare for the Entrance Exam. I hope you pass the Entrance Exam. Good luck.” The guard bid him farewell.
Coll the other guard seeing that Neo is gone and cannot hear them said to Clutch. “Why did you tell him that kind of information?”
“Coll you see that man is respectful towards us and I kind of remember my youth days with him that’s why I want to help him even a little information is not that bad.” Clutch said remembering his youth days, he participates also in the exam last twelve years ago but he failed during the Entrance Exam. His body that builds up in the mountain training and fighting was still not enough to pass the Entrance Exam. But he was still glad that those who are failed where still given the chance in joining the soldiers of Kingdom of Ymir and now he was assign to guard the Intelligence Guild.
“I know what you are saying Clutch, but if our superiors know that you leaked that kind of information you will be dismiss.” Coll tell his friend with concern.
“Y-You won’t tell them right?” Clutch eyed his friend with pleading reaction.
“Don’t worry my mouth is shut, I didn’t hear a thing. I’m just worried in your attitude of trusting people easily. I even ask you in the past when we are still trainees in the camp about the Entrance Exam and you tell me immediately that you are prohibited to release that kind of information. Now that man you just met but still you tell him that kind of information.” Coll said feeling jealous although Clutch told him that kind of information after they become close friends.
“I just felt the urge to tell him that kind of information, I think he will be a great person in the future and I want to see what kind of person he will become.” He said as he looked at the direction where Neo goes.
“Ok ok enough, but you didn’t think that what if the exam will change from last twelve years. I know they only open every twelve years but you didn’t consider the rules and type of exam will have to change because of those that failed may tell the other people so they can get ahead to other participants.” Coll said after thinking carefully. “Maybe the information you tell will backfire to him during the exam.”
“I didn’t think that deeply. What will I do now Coll? I act and tell him confidently that kind of information. What if I will be the reason why will he fail?” Clutch feel like crying and begging an answer from Coll.
“Tsk! what will I do to you? We can’t change it already. We just hope that his preparation is enough for him to pass the exam.” Coll told him to just pray for his success. ‘And I think that young man was still a low leveled, why did they accept him? Now that I think about it, today Gaea of the Holy Seer will send a freeman into Bersa Continent, maybe they change the rule because of that.’ Coll said to himself.
Neo leave the Training Yard and go outside the Intelligence guild immediately. He has still time till the Entrance Exam he walked fast like running and stop in front of the Training Hall.
“I’m here to train the way of the sword.” He said to the Instructor in the Training Hall. The Instructor was a heavy built tall man around 210cm, gray haired around 55 years old.
“Do you need my guidance? I tell you, take any unattended scarecrow and strike him in any way you want. A wooden sword is placed in front of a scarecrow, and it is all yours.” The instructor said pointing on the scarecrows in the Training Hall.
“Thank you Sir that was enough.” He bowed and thanked the Instructor.
“Godspeed”
Neo walk in the corner most, where people won’t disturb him. He picks up the wooden sword on the wall and swung it once and twice.
‘The balance is perfect for its weight.’
He now faces the scarecrow holding the wooden sword in front of him pointing upward. He inhale and exhale and start hitting the scarecrow once, twice and thrice.
There are about a thousand scarecrows in the Training Hall of the Audhumla City, and an unlimited supply of wooden swords on the walls, which could come in handy.
After an hour a pop-up message appears in front of him.
“Ping”
New Skill: Basic Sword Mastery Level [1]
Increases attack power and speed while using sword.
Increases Attack Power with a sword (+10% ATK)
Increases Attack Speed with a sword (+3% ATK SPD)
After more than one hour of striking the scarecrow, he heard good news. He was glad he learn a new skill, he feels his sword is becoming sharp and fatal.
Neo was soaked in sweat.
The white shirt and black pants issued to him in the beginning had absorbed sweat and stuck fast to his body. He still dealt one blow after another to the scarecrow without a minute’s break. Though when he was training for an hour he didn’t sweat that much in RL, here in RR is different as all will start to level 1 and there stamina will all be the same except if you’re in different race.
After three hours another pop-up message appears and it was different on the other.
“Ping”
Strength increased by 1 point (+1 STR)
‘So it really upgrades your stats’ mumbled while striking the scarecrow. He felt as if the muscles in his hand clutching the wooden sword were getting lighter.
And after another three hours he heard another sound.
“Ping”
Vitality increased by 1 point (+1 VIT)
Agility increased by 1 point (+1 AGI)
The two stats rose almost at the same lime.
“Wew”
Neo finally put down the wooden sword and took a short break. Without eating or drinking, he had been hitting the scarecrow for nearly six straight hours.
He was physically fatigued, and worse, his throat was burning with thirst, his stomach empty and hollow. In real life he can hold for long but in Royal Road you need to watch your stamina and satiety level.
“Inventory window”
Given the preset keyword, the semitransparent images of all the belongings in Neo’s inventory floated in front of his eyes. Inside his inventory were a canteen and ten pieces of rye bread.
In Royal Road, you have to get hold of what you need on your own. Other users make money by carrying out easy quests for the four weeks, but Neo could not spare even a minute.
He took out a piece of rye bread and the canteen, and nibbled a mouthful of bread. As he ate food, it appeased his hunger and the satisfaction factor rose.
‘I’m supposed to have a meal every five hours. I’d better eat more often if I exercise intensely, but I don’t need to raise the satisfaction factor to the full. All I need to do is just stay away from death.’
Once Neo finished the meal swiftly, he took the wooden sword in his grip and stood in front of the scarecrow.
He was the only person continuously hitting the scarecrow in the Training Hall. The other people just visit and hit the scarecrows after an hour or two they leave already.
‘I need to pick up my pace or I’ll end up wasting my time here. Time to get serious now’
He relaxed all his muscles, he inhale and exhale while closing his eyes. He had not entered a stance, but was simply dangling the sword limply in his hands. The intent to attack or defend could not be felt at all. One could only describe his appearance as slovenly. After a second he hit the scarecrow, the first hit rang thru the Training Hall and the people inside look where the sound came from. They were shocked because the Royal Road just start a while ago and they thought they heard a skill or something.
Many people surround him and chattering.
“Is that a new skill?”
“Why the heck is that guy striking the scarecrow?”
“You can gain skill sword mastery after hitting the scarecrow.”
“But you can gain that skill after two hours or so of hitting.”
“Yeah, and he is like that for around five hours now.”
“I don’t think he’ll stop until he breaks that scarecrow into pieces.”
“But his form is like a sword master and the sound is different while we hit the scarecrow.”
“Maybe we can get another awesome skill after we hit the scarecrow for long?”
“Yeah maybe we can do it also. Come on guys let’s hit the scarecrows.”
The people around him start hitting the scarecrows after two hours they spend they give up already. Although they follow the stance and where he hit the scarecrow they can’t learn it. Their hands become numb and pain start to build up and the sound of girls around distract them. Every hit of Neo on the scarecrow the girls go “Kyaa, Kyaa”
“Wow he’s handsome and so cool.”
“The way he hit the scarecrow is awesome compare to the others that looks weak.”
“Yeah he is like a true warrior.”
“I hope I can ask him his name and his email also.”
“I want to invite him as a friend.”
“I want to become his girlfriend.”
They can’t get close to Neo because they don’t want him to hate them. Neo is seriously hitting the scarecrow and the aura around him states that don’t go disturb me. Neo is in trance mode although many people surround him he can’t hear them, he was on his own world where he and the scarecrow only in that world. It was helpful during his match and playing games and the people close to him knows that when he was like that no one can disturb him in he’s doing.
During break time Neo notices that he wasn't the only one continue hitting the scarecrow. He smiles as he thought that he wasn't the only one who knows about gaining stats while hitting scarecrows. He remembered their faces as he was sure he will encounter them in the future.
All this time, the instructor was watching him with awfully gratified eyes.
He spent one hundred seventy hours on striking the scarecrow monotonously, which had mentally worn him out. He only log-out to eat, feed his pet and bathroom break. Had it not been for pop-up messages encouraging him, he would have given up.
“Ping”
Strength increased by 1 point (+1 STR)
Agility increased by 1 point (+1 AGI)
Level Up: Sword Mastery Level 5 [0%]
Ten days had passed in Royal Road. Neo logged on to Royal Road on a daily basis, except for minimum sleeping hours. His physical condition, which he had resolved to build up before he started the game, enabled him to sleep no more than three hours a day. He takes a bath and do light exercise, he also checked the internet for any emails he got and news about Royal Road first before he logged to Royal Road.
After a white flash he appeared again in the Training Hall.
He looked around him and he sigh. ‘Seems like there’s no troublesome people around and the Instructor was still sleeping.’ Neo was glad that there were no people around so no one can disturb him but disappointed that the Instructor wasn’t around. He thought maybe even NPC’s need also to sleep and rest.
‘I’ll just thanked the Instructor after the exam’ He said as he exited the Training Hall and walk outside.
Now was the day of the Entrance Exam he logged in earlier than the arranged time. The sky was not dark because of the moonlight and starlight shine and there is no cloud blocking them. The air is cold and the surrounding is peacefully quiet it was still 3AM in the morning and he was alone walking in the street suddenly there was a ringing sound. His destination is the fountain in the central square because he wants to refill his canteen of water before he goes to the Training Yard but he can hear the sound coming from the palace. The spot light in the watchtower is moving as if it was looking for something. Although it was a spotlight it was different in what you can see in RL it was built and made classically with fire magic inside a cylindrical container and enclosed with glass.
‘Seems like there is an intruder in the palace, maybe there is a thief or assassin?’ He still walked in the street continuing on his destination while thinking he also notices the people in the houses started waking up because of the loud sound of ringing as the lamp start to lighten up.
‘How troublesome’ He said to himself.
He goes to the alley it was his shortcut to the fountain in the central square because he didn’t want to lose time travelling from the central square and the Training Hall. He didn’t know that shortcut he took will bring him trouble.
To be continue...
