An hour before Vero went back to the office, he was sitting in a room full of businessmen who wanted to sign a contract with him. They had more mangas that they wanted to get started on and they thought this company would be a good fit. Leaning into the table, his elbows leaning on the table helping his own head hold up.
“Listen, we would love to work with you all but we already have so many projects this week to work on. My team would be very overloaded if they worked on more projects this week. How about we start on this in a month? Are you willing to wait that long? I am sure not many others would say the same. They probably turned you down--and that’s why you came here.”
Vero smirked at them, though his eyes were telling a different story; they were glaring at them, trying to scare them to agree with his idea instead.
The main businessman looked at Vero, before nervously looking over to his other two co-workers before they all agreed with Vero’s terms. They didn’t know how Vero knew that everyone else shut them down; but it was common sense. Not many people would come in the middle of the year for a manga being published, only if others turned them down already and they had nowhere to go.
They all started shaking Vero’s hand before they left, giving a respectful bow to him before being dismissed to leave the building. Vero held all the paperwork he had, walking down the long hall back to his office. Stopping right before the door, he put his free hand over his forehead, his back bending down slightly as he let out a long sigh. He had a headache from the lack of sleep and he just wanted to go home. His lips tempered, a tear started to go down his face, shaking his head.
“Fuck…”
He had to get his shit together or he wasn’t going to make it today. He had to seem fine, his personal life wasn’t anyone’s business.
When he got a hold of himself and put his emotions to the side, Vero stepped in front of the door where he could see anyone from the window. The little was pretty small, though it gave anyone a clear view into the office. At first he saw everyone just working but when he looked to see if Yato was doing his job, he wasn’t even at his desk.
What the hell? I already gave him a hard time? How much do I need to…
His thoughts switched off as he suddenly grew enraged, noticing that Yato was on his phone. Clearly Yato didn’t know what privacy was, and it made him go from heartbreak to irritation and deception.

It felt like opening up the office door took forever when he finally reached the door and got inside. Yato right away was making up excuses to get out of being yelled at; however, Vero knew he didn’t want to make a scene about his personal life in front of everyone. Thinking up some ideas in his head before he finally did speak. Everyone was watching now, best to make it fast.
“Oh Yato. You are a real idiot. Clearly, you didn’t search everything on my desk.”
As he reached his desk and right away pulled out some scripts.
“Maybe next time I should just plant them on your face, maybe you wouldn’t have been so blind.”
Vero, sitting down in his chair, saw how his phone was locked and was placed like it was thrown.
How much did Yato see?
Yato was sweating bullets, reaching at the back of his head and running fingers through his white hair. He could sense everyone in the office looking at him and he laughed uncontrollably.
“I am just going to keep on working….”
Yato bowed towards Vero as he turned around to get back to his desk. His cheeks were crimson color, as he nervously looked down at his artwork he already started.
I still can’t believe it. He’s...totally gay?! And I am pretty sure he knew I was looking at his phone. He literally just threatened me about it, but he made it in a way no one else could know. Ah, crap… I am also working late with him tonight. DAMN IT. I totally did this to myself.
As the hours passed and everyone started to continue to whisper on what just happened. Vero turned around, glaring strikingly. “If you guys have room to talk among yourselves, then should I add more work?”
After that everyone started to work and not say a thing after Vero threatened them.
Curiosity hit Vero as he unlocked his phone at his desk, wanting to know what Yato had been looking at. Peach didn’t even have the balls to even close out of what he was reading, and it directly went back to his ex-boyfriend’s messages. His heart dropped- feeling like he just fell onto a cactus, his heart punctured by a millions of needles, and yet pins that were pulling out of his heart at the same time that each needle went into his heart. He wanted to break his phone into million pieces from looking at the pictures. He didn’t know what else to do, and he didn’t even have the heart to block him from his phone. A little piece of him was still attached to him.
So, this is how it’s going to be?
Opening up his drawer, putting his phone inside and closing it shut with force. The loud noise from the drawer was heard from everyone in the office.
“Peach, meet me out in the hallway.” Vero stood up, putting one of his hands in his pockets, the other opening the door to lead into the hallway.
I don’t need him to tell anyone. I am sure he saw everything.
