Now that the first set for fights was done, it was time for the men to put on their show.
“Will Yamato and Philip walked onto the stage!” The announcers called
Philip stepped onto the stage he looked briefly towards Tenshi. His eyes were all black, almost hollow looking, then Yamato arrived on the other side of him.
“You better be ready for this,” Yamato said and raised his axe.
Philip popped his neck and looked at Yamato as the announcers called for the match to begin.
Yamato walked slowly towards Philip, being cautious since Philip hadn't drawn a weapon out at all.
“Come on… if you ain’t ready now, I won’t be merciful.”
Moses looked over to Tenshi “He’s gonna lose if he doesn't do something!”
“No, he’s baiting him.” Tenshi said, a tone of unease in his voice.
“Baiting?” Moses replied
“Yeah, it’s like setting up a trap. He’s making Yamato feel like he’s in a better position, so when Philip attacks, he’ll have the upper-hand” Liz explained
“Last warning bud.” Yamato gripped his axe with both hands as he got closer.
Philip just looked at him blankly, then scoffed “What are you waiting for? Hit me.”
“You asked for it.” Yamato raised his axe and swung it down, but before it could hit Philip, he rolled to the side and took out a metal rod Friné his sleeve, and nailed Yamato right in the side of the head. Yamato stumbled forward, then just collapsed. “Looks like I win” Philip said and began to walk off of the stage.
“Philip WINS!” The announcers yelled.
“Wow, Yamato didn’t stand a chance.” Tenshi said crossing his arms
“Yeah, he was baited pretty bad” Liz sighed
“That must have hurt.” Moses rubbed his neck
After some of the staff pulled Yamato off the stage, they finally called “Tenshi and Momo to the stage!” They both walked together and stood across from each other.
“I almost forgot we had to fight.” Tenshi laughed
“Mmhmm! Good luck!” Moses told him
“You too!” Tenshi smiled and put his hand out for them to shake hands. They shook hands, then drew their weapons.
Tenshi held a double edged sword that was as wide as his back, and as long as his tail (so about 12 inches wide and 4 feet long).
Moses’ weapons were two yo-yos. They looked to be made of steel.
“Begin!” the ancouncers called.
Tenshi ran towards Moses dragging his sword and swung up at him.
Moses quickly jumped back and tossed a yo-yo at Tenshi who moved his head as the yo-yo flew by.
“(That was fast)” Tenshi thought as he went to rush again.
Tenshi swung a few times, Moses just barely dodging.
Moses tried to throw his yo-yo, but Tenshi kept smacking them away with his sword.
Moses pouted “You’re no joke”
“Simple yo-yos are’t gonna hurt me too much, and I’m not gonna let you pretend like that’s all you got.” Tenshi laughed “You would not have made it this far if you only could do this.”
“Hehe, you saw right through me, huh?” Moses said with a giggle “Okay then.” he retracted his yo-yos into his sleeves and threw them back at Tenshi, he looked at them as they went right towards him. Then, blades popped out, making it look like they had spikes. They went right towards Tenshi’s face, cutting some of the puff from his hair.
“So that’s your weapon, not bad” Tenshi said “Well, let’s really get started.” He grinned as Moses pulled the yo-yos back.
Moses threw a yo-yo towards Tenshi as he moved to the side and ran towards Moses. Pulling the yo-yo back and throwing the other yo-yo, trapping Tenshi in the middle of the two. As the gap between the weapons closed Tenshi hopped up to avoid the clash of the two.

Tenshi spent a lot of time dodging the attacks sent his way, slowly seeing a pattern
“(Left, Right, Left, Right, Pull together)” He repeated in his head.
Moses’ rhythm stayed the same.
Left
Right
Left
Right
Pull Together
Then when the cycle started again, Tenshi dodged the first two then let the left run past his face, reopening the scar on his left cheek.
He grabbed the string and pulled Moses towards his right side.
“I got you now!” He yelled as Moses flew towards him.
Tenshi used the flat part of his sword to smack Moses in the gut, knocking the wind out of him and launching him to the edge of the stage. As Moses tried to stand back up, he felt dizzy and he slipped and fell out of the ring.
“This match's winner is Tenshi!!!” Called out the announcers, followed by the roaring crowd cheering.
Tenshi rushed over to Moses.
“Hey bud, you okay?” He asked concerned
Moses laughed “Yeah I’m fine, that was fun” he smiled at him
Tenshi smiled back and raised his arm out to help Moses up
“You did good, maybe change up your moves so they’re not so predictable next time” Tenshi chuckled as he gave the advice.
“Sure thing! You really caught me off guard when you didn’t dodge that last attack” Moses replied as they walked back to sit on the benches.
“Thank you fighters from the West District! You will be allowed to leave for the night to rest or train.” The male announcer spoke “Now we move on to the East District!”
All the combatants from the West took their leave as the East walked into the stadium.
After they left, Tenshi, Liz, and Moses went to eat at a local restaurant.
“That was a great fight you two” Liz said
“Thanks!” Tenshi and Moses replied at the same time. They looked at each other and laughed.
“That was fun though, we should train together! I could help you improve your yo-yo style” Tenshi smiled
“Really?! You wanna train with me!” Moses said in excitement.
“Yeah, me and Liz could use the training. You’re such a unique opponent, and we need to train for everything” Tenshi replied
Liz nodded in agreement, “ We have to keep getting stronger to complete our goal”
“Goal?” Moses said as their ramen bowls were placed in front of them.
Liz and Tenshi were distracted by the food.
“Thank you for the food!” They said in unison, and bowed at the Chef who bowed back.
“H-hey! What’s your guy’s goal!” Moses said, feeling a little left in the dark.
“Enough about that for now, let’s eat!” Tenshi said, digging into his meal.
“We’ll tell you later, I promise.” Liz giggled as she began to eat. Moses pouted, but couldn’t argue. The three of them ate their food, paid the Chef, and went on their way.
The night was coming to an end, and the trio went back to Tenshi’s house, to find Madako cooking dinner.
“Mom, we’re back!” Tenshi called out
“Welcome home! How was it today?” Madako asked.
“It was good for the most part” he replied “Liz and I won our matches.”
“Well that’s good, I take it you’ll need to head to Yorkton tomorrow then?” She covered the pan with a lid and took off her apron.
“Yeah, we’ll probably have to leave tonight.” Tenshi said and looked at Liz.
“Yes, from Tamashī, Yorkton is about a 5 hour trip on horseback. My house is about in between here and there so we’ll stop their for the night and continue in the morning” Liz explained
“I see” Madako said “Let’s give you some dinner and send you on your way then.” She looked at Moses “and introduce me to this little guy”
“Oh Right! This is Moses, he was the one I fought today” Tenshi pulled Moses to be in front of him “Moses, this is my Mother, Madako.”
“It’s nice to meet you,” Madako said with a warm smile.
“T-thank you, it’s nice to meet you t-too” Moses said, a little nervous.
Madako giggles “so where are you from?”
“Well it’s a little unknown, do you know where Beach Town is?” He said
“Yes?” Madako replied
“Well in the forest there’s a little town full of just kids, it’s called Knull. Kids with no families end up there and then when we’re grown we go wherever we want.” Moses explained.
“I see” Madako said as she packed some food “It must be hard to not have your families”
Moses nodded “It is sometimes, but we all take care of each other, and some of the adults from Beach Town decided to protect Knull too.”
“Is Yamato one of those adults?” Tenshi asked
Moses nodded as 3 boxes were placed in front of them.
“Well then, let’s not hold you up any longer.” Madako said “it’s already late, so take your lunches, and be safe” she smiled “good luck to you both” she kissed Tenshi’s forehead, and hugged both him, and Liz.
“We’ll do our best Ms. Madako!” Liz said
“Yeah! We’ll be sure to kick some butt!” Tenshi gave a wide smile.
Madako smiled at them “You two have grown so much…” she sighed, “Go ahead and take Mei, she’s our fastest horse.”
Tenshi nodded and got a backpack that he left by the door, along with the rest of his gear.
When the trio got outside, Tenshi led them to the stalls, where he called Mei out. When the horse came out, he put the saddle on her back, and made sure she was good to go.
“Okay, looks like we’re ready” Tenshi said
“Good luck you guys!” Moses gave a grin, “I’ll be looking for Yamato, he said I should meet him by an inn so we could go home together.”
“Thank you, Momo” Liz smiled back, “We’ll look for Beach Town so we can train with you some time”
“Yeah! We’ll be sure to find ya!” Tenshi said and hopped on Mei’s back, and reached for Liz’s hand to help her up.
Liz took his hand and climbed up “It was nice to meet you, see you around!”
“Wait! Before you go! I want to know what your goal is.” Moses said
Tenshi and Liz looked at each other and then back to Moses, “We want to become heroes for our people, and protect everyone we can!” They said in unison, as Tenshi got Mei to start moving. “One day our dream will come true!” Tenshi smiled at Moses as they rode off into the night.
