Prologue

This was a world where human society lived a cruel life. Nobles and those of higher status had too many privileges, to the point where no one could oppose them, whether they were in the wrong, or otherwise.

If you were one of the less fortunate and became a target of theirs, it was your fault. Committing crimes like raping and killing was easy to do and without repercussions, because money and power could silence the authorities, and this would most likely continue unaffected if not or something unexpected... an event... something that would change the world.

Year 5048

A man was walking in the streets, calling for a taxi to go to his work.

His watch read 9:30 in the morning... he was screwed, no doubt. Heck! he was supposed to be at his office at 9:45, and unless the world fell apart, he was already late.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

"Never drinking that much... ever!" He murmured. Last night was a joyful one, because of his reunion with his best friend, and they just kept downing the drinks, not sleeping till late at night. "The poor bastard, however, hasn't changed at all in those fifteen years we had to meet."

Continuing to look for his taxi, which was also late, he looked crestfallen, till suddenly, he stopped dead on his feet, "What the..." He exclaimed.

The skies which looked as if they wanted to burn him alive suddenly grew cold and dark like it would during an eclipse. Looking above him, he saw a weird cluster... then, monsters fell from the skies. Countless, innumerable... as far as the eye could see, there were monsters. Demons like those he would read in textbooks, novels or see on the internet.

"You got to be kidding me... I didn't actually mean for the world to fall apart!" He yelled in a quiet voice, remembering suddenly just how bad his situation was.

"Come on , face this with optimism!" He psyched himself.

So far, the visual overstimulation was enough to drown out the unrealistic situation he was in and let him run clear headed.

Quickly finding his way to the nearest building, he hid from the monsters...

There wasn't anything wrong with this situation, just that from what he had seen, there were enough monsters to fill a small sized city...

"I think I'm still drunk, right?" He checked outside, before immediately rushing back in. "Nope, it's all real." He even saw some monsters spreading out, but the amount remaining was enough to make sure no one would leave alive. This time he knew he wasn't drunk, and now the reality of the situation slowly started to hit.
