Pakura’s soul body frowned.

She was in the last step of completing her soul sutra but she couldn’t take that final step no matter how hard she tried.

She could feel the situation getting out of hand by the minute.

A moment ago, she had felt Lin Feng draw upon the bond and that meant he had been forced into a corner.

It also meant that he had to divert his attention. She was sure that the Kyuubi would capitalise on this flaw.

Sure enough, she felt Lin Feng's mindscape tremble as the Kyuubi bombarded it with the concentrated might of the myriad tribulation.

Forcing her desire to check whether Lin Feng was fine down, she concentrated on her soul sutra.

If she broke her meditation now, all her efforts would go to waste.

Pakura decided that she would opt for the internal soul sutra path as right now, her mindscape was attached to her body and she was in Lin Feng's mindscape and so couldn't bring any help to him even if it promoted.

She concentrated and a pure soul power rushed into her as her mindscape disintegrated and was invested into her soul form.

More accurately, it was invested into the seven rainbow-coloured flames that were spinning around her.

The flames absorbed the nutrients and began to burn even more exuberantly.

But, along with the passage of time, the flames began to condense and turn almost solid.

Finally, circling around her were seven fiery gemstones.

Her soul sutra was complete. The gems, under the operation of her will, gathered on top of her head.

The name of her new soul sutra was to be the imperial sutra and the final product was the diadem of the seven emotions, the name she had given the seven gems which were arranged on top of her head like a circular crown.

Opening her eyes in soul form, she took in the situation of Lin Feng.

The entire newly forming mindscape of his was filled with craters where the lightning had struck and destroyed it.

Mountains had been reduced to plains, lakes had been evaporated and volcanoes had been st off, causing them to erupt violently, spewing noxious miasma into the air.

It was a picture of the end.

Within it all, Lin Feng was kneeling on the ground, clutching his head as the emotions rampaged within him.

His eyes were blood red with slit vertical pupils… just like the Kyuubi.

He was twitching as he tried to keep control over his rage and block the tailed beast’s influence.

Pakura immediately took action. With a shout, seven coloured rays bloomed from the crown on her head and created a barrier above Lin Feng's mindscape.

All the thunder and lightning was kept off by it.

“Come on! Now is our chance… let’s defeat it and cross this tribulation!”

Lin Feng did not reply. As soon as the pressure had been taken off him, he had stopped his struggling and gone still.

“Lin Feng? Lin Feng!” Pakura called him repeatedly but he didn’t respond.

Beads of sweat appeared on her forehead as haunching the protective light screen became extremely strenuous as the lightning intensified.

Outside the mindscape, within the dome, Lin Feng's body began to change.

He had been curled up on the ground, struggling. Now, he was still.

A dark red chakra began to flow out of him and his muscles began to wriggle as if there was something trying to come out of his body.

His eyes shot open. They had turned a bloody red.
