Chapter #27: Prelude to Disaster (2)

A Week before;

"It's already been nine months since I came into this world," Shin mused, curling up in his sheets. The impending attack by the Nine-Tails weighed heavily on his mind. "When the first signs of trouble appear, I must act swiftly and evacuate the orphanage, leading everyone to safety in the shelter."

While engrossed in learning history at the library, he had also been diligently taking note of all the shelters scattered throughout the village. So he could take the orphanage people there as soon as possible in case of an emergency.

Sitting up, Shin retrieved his notebook and turned to the rough map he had drawn of the Leaf Village. With furrowed brows, he whispered to himself, "Uchiha Compound, No, they are too near to the village center now, that scum will probably release the beast in the center of the village. So probably better to avoid that area. That also eliminates ones near the stadium and the market." Glancing over the map, a realization struck him. "Ah, during the battle, Kurama launched a tail beast bomb at the Hokage Rock. Although there is a high possibility of Minato stopping it in time, I can`t take any chances so that shelter is also out of option"

His eyes scanned the makeshift map until they landed on a particular location. "There... the Hyuga clan shelter. It offers a greater level of safety. But how can we reach it in time? It's situated near the circular wall of the village." Shin pondered the predicament, seeking a solution. "Under normal circumstances, it takes approximately fifty minutes to reach there. Even if we run, time would remain a constraint. I need to create a situation that guides everyone to the shelter. Once the Nine-Tails is unleashed, panic will engulf the entire village... hmm."

Having devised a general plan, Shin settled back into his bed, his mind racing with thoughts as he drifted off to sleep.

------------------------------

Several days had passed since Shin had anticipated the impending danger, diligently keeping an eye on the location he remembered. However, when the long-awaited moment finally arrived, an overwhelming sense of fear gripped him, causing him to freeze in place.

As Kushina, accompanied by the older woman, walked along the road, Shin observed their slow progress. The weight of Kushina's pregnancy made every step arduous.

Standing in the adjacent alleyway that led to the Uchiha compounds, Shin's mind raced, connecting the dots with alarming clarity. "So, it's happening today," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

Frustration welled up within him as he questioned his own reaction. "Damn it, I already knew what was coming. But... Why am I trembling??" Taking a deep breath, he attempted to steady his nerves and made his way back to the orphanage.

As his footsteps echoed through the deserted alley, Shin's thoughts turned to his fellow orphans. "Akiko and Hiro should have returned by now. It's already eight o'clock. But the others... They better be safely inside," he silently prayed, his heart heavy with concern.

In a secret ANBU base Outside the Village,

The birthing chamber resounded with the agonizing groans of a woman in labor.

"I have never seen Kushina in so much pain before, Is she going to be allright?" Minato anxiously inquired, his hands firmly placed on the Sealing Jutsu Formula etched upon Kushina's swollen belly.

"Yes, She is going to be fine. Now forget about that and keep focus on the Nine-Tails Seal." ,Biwako retorted sharply, her tone devoid of sympathy.

"But she is so..."

"You`re the Fourth Hokage Minato, Now act like it and get a grip",

Again harshly rebuked by Biwako, Minato fell silent. Suddenly, the central core of the sealing formula expanded and spread, its intricate patterns radiating with power.

Within the confines of the cage, Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Fox, sensed the weakening of the seal. The adamantine chains that bound it began to slacken ever so slightly. Fueled by rage, the beast fiercely struggled against its restraints, desperately attempting to break free. A resounding roar echoed through the chamber, a testament to its wrath.

Still trying to keep the seal in place, Minato wondered nervously, 'He is so strong. Nine tails is Writhing to get out'. He spoke," Hang in there, Kushina... Naruto come on".

Outside the hideout, the masked man observed from the shadows, his eyes fixed on the scene before him. "Four in the open, two hiding in the trees, while the last one...heh... found quite the clever hiding spot". he mused, emitting a chilling chuckle. After a brief moment, he vanished in a swirling spiral, as if teleporting through space.

--------------------

The secret hideout nestled within a mountain took the form of a makeshift cave, meticulously crafted by the ANBU. It consisted of two interconnected chambers, each guarded by a pair of ANBU operatives posted by Hiruzen. The sole exit, made of wood, blended seamlessly with the dense canopy of surrounding trees, concealing the hideout's location. A gentle stream flowed nearby, providing a serene ambiance.

Chumo, stationed in the bushes, maintained a vigilant watch, his gaze fixed outward, away from the cave. Internally, he gloated over the huge payday he anticipated after the completion of this mission. 'Although the job is boring, I am far better than that Tsuki,' he smirked, at the thought of Tsuki being placed in that position for such a long time.

Suddenly, he heard some noise as if a Kunai had been thrown. Swiftly, Chumo created a covert water clone, silently ordering it to investigate the source. He signaled his fellow sentry, a bird-like gesture, to alert them of the situation.

The masked man materialized above the unsuspecting sentry hidden beneath the stream. 'What the...'. Before the sentry could make a sound, the masked man swiftly slit his throat with a kunai, simultaneously clamping his victim's jaw shut with an iron grip. Bubbles escaped beneath the stream. Acting with astonishing speed, he advanced upon the other two motionless guards positioned nearby. In a single fluid motion, he plunged his kunai into the skulls of the unsuspecting ANBU. Turning his attention to the remaining sentries, who were approaching with swords drawn, he prepared for their futile assault.

"Sharingan," he uttered with a voice tinged with menace.

Instantly, both sentries were paralyzed, ensnared within a powerful Genjutsu. They collapsed to the ground, their bodies catatonic for a fleeting moment, their eyes gleaming with an ominous light, reflecting the eyes of the caster.

As sounds emanated from behind, Chumo nervously glanced backward, only to find a spiral-masked figure emerging from the depths of a tree. Panic gripped him, and he stammered, "What the heck, What are...?!"

Unable to complete his sentence, as he watched, the scene shifted from being a complete picture to being sliced vertically.

Looking down at the gruesome sight of the bisected skull , He uttered, "Dont worry... sleep... soon you will wake up in another world... a more perfect world"

With the ANBU ruthlessly dispatched, the masked man pressed forward, poised to infiltrate the cave, his intentions shrouded in darkness.
