"The years passed, and the world split into four nations, each inhabited by benders with their unique abilities. The mountain-dwelling nomads mastered the wind, the polar tribes controlled water, while the dominant powers were the fire and earth manipulators who occupied vast regions of the continent," she sighed, giving the boy time to absorb the information. After a few seconds, she continued, "The foundations of society were established, but misfortune struck when the first Avatar passed away. Little did people know, the Avatar would never truly die but be reborn in a continuous cycle: fire, air, water, and earth..."
"Wow," Naruto couldn't contain his excitement and curiosity about the Avatar's story. However, Yuei's telling of it with melancholy and sadness left him with many questions.
"Centuries went by, and many avatars achieved incredible feats, their tales echoing across the world, ensuring peace and prosperity. Until one day, he vanished," the geisha warrior said, her brow furrowing. She remained silent for a moment before continuing, "One hundred years ago, the Avatar born in an air nomad temple disappeared. Shortly after, the fire nation attacked those temples. We don't believe he's dead, for to this day, firebenders continue searching for that coward..." Yui growled, unable to contain her frustration any longer.
"Yui..." her elder twin warned, attempting to stop her sister, but to no avail.
"The Avatar's disappearance threw everything into chaos, revealing how much the world had come to rely on one person for all its troubles. How far have we fallen, pinning our hopes on someone we treat like a god when, in reality, he's just a person reborn over centuries... saving the world?" she asked bitterly, her smile laced with anger.
"That's enough," the elder sister stood up, her expression deadly serious as she locked eyes with her younger sibling, who also rose to her feet, their gazes locked.
"What? I'm not like you and Mother, believing that everything will miraculously resolve itself with the Avatar's return. Where was the Avatar when we needed him most?! When Father was captured and tortured?! When Mother was murdered?! Where?!" With that anguished cry, a resounding slap rang out as Yuei struck her younger sister, leaving a vivid red mark on her right cheek.
"I don't know! But I won't stand by and let you insult Mother's faith in him!" The warrior shouted with fury, her eyes pained as she looked at the mark she had left on her sister's face.

Stunned and uncomfortable, Naruto could only watch with pity as both sisters fought over this seemingly delicate matter. The minutes dragged on, leaving the atmosphere tense and oppressive. However, it shattered when Yui turned on her heel and walked away.
"The Avatar didn't keep us alive all these years in the midst of this war; it was ourselves," she declared with a cold demeanor as she ventured into the forest, not once glancing back. "I'll take the first watch. You can sleep." Her words hung in the air, and she disappeared into the shroud of the night, seeking solace.
Silence enveloped the small camp until Yuei settled onto the log where she had been sitting earlier. "Our mother was a true believer in the Avatar," she began in a low voice, her fists clenched in anger. She gazed upward, forcing a smile when she noticed the blonde boy seated uncomfortably near the bonfire. "I'm sorry you had to witness that," she apologized, lowering her head.
"No, it's okay..." Naruto shook his head and remained seated, reflecting on everything he had heard. He knew what the geisha warrior was searching for. "I'm not the Avatar. What you saw was just one of the things I can do..." He rose to his feet, extending his right hand and, with the aid of his left, began forming a Rasengan. The older twin looked on in astonishment. "This isn't airbending; it's just chakra manipulation…"
"I understand..." Yuei's eyes gleamed darkly as she rose from the log, gathering her and her sister's belongings. She believed that if they left now, they could reach another village and find some mercenary jobs. "We will make sure that the secret of where this gold remains a secret, so you shouldn't worry," she promised as she packed everything into a bag and approached Fāng to load the saddle.
"Wait!" Naruto stood up and halted the older twin just as the younger twin arrived. "I know I'm not the Avatar, but I'd like to help you," he said confidently, earning skeptical looks from both sisters.
"That's noble of you, but..." Before Yuei could decline the boy's offer, her sister intervened.
"Let's suppose we say yes..." Yui calmly walked up to the Uzumaki, crossing her arms and giving him a cold, challenging stare. "Why would you risk your neck for us? You don't even know us," she questioned with hostility and suspicion aimed squarely at the boy, who remained silent.
"I may not know them, but... what kind of person would I be if I ignored people in trouble?" The blonde, now the focus of both sisters' attention, asked with a warm smile.
"You're a noble brat. That's why I'm glad you're offering your help." Nodding, the younger twin disregarded her older sister's furious expression. She took hold of the beast's reins and approached the pre-adolescent. "We have a three-month journey ahead, so hop on." Climbing onto the half-wolf beast, Naruto settled into the saddle.
"Clear!" Naruto replied excitedly, shouldering the bag he carried and placing it on his shoulder. As he looked up, he saw the hand the warrior extended toward him. He smiled even wider and took her hand, using it to help himself onto the animal that patiently awaited their ascent.
"..." Letting out a frustrated sigh, Yuei also climbed onto the animal. The seat wasn't particularly spacious, which left the blond feeling a bit cramped between the two warriors. Strangely, neither of them seemed bothered by their close proximity.
Naruto had to hold onto the younger twin's waist for balance as Fāng began to sprint through the forest at full speed. Yuei also held onto the Uzumaki to maintain her own balance. And so, the newly formed group embarked on their journey to a destination that lay far ahead, knowing that many things could happen along the way.
