As Naruto was reading a report from the Cloud, he sensed a disturbance. It wasn't the Nature energy and it wasn't his, or Kurama's Chakra. He just felt like something happened.
“Naruto, that son of yours is something else.”
Naruto immediately sharpened his senses in the direction of Boruto, only to ‘see’ him aggregating Nature Energy. It didn't feel like Frog Senjutsu, it felt like something else, something familiar.
“What would you call this? Fox Senjutsu? Maybe Kurama Sage mode?” Naruto asked Kurama.
“Heh, he might be in a dangerous spot, you know?”
“I trust Karin enough. Although I will need to give him a scolding for doing that without supervision.”
Naruto thought about her. Although she seemed to have become distant from Sasuke, she had been nothing if not cooperative. In fact the amount of help she had given to Naruto would in any other situation make her a close friend.
“How did you know it was him anyway?”
Naruto himself had felt a little disturbance, but he had not known where to ‘look’. Looking at Boruto now, it seemed that there was nothing grabbing that much attention. If Naruto looked at every movement of Nature energy, he would not know rest.
“For a moment I thought I was looking at him, and then I had a vivid memory of a time I destroyed a nation. It seems that he gathered some of my residual Chakra that is moving across the world.”
Just after saying this Naruto sprung up and ‘looked’ in the direction of Boruto. Boruto seemed to have lost control of the Nature energy. As Naruto was getting ready to go help him he ‘saw’ Sarada emerge from the tree Boruto was sitting on and help him. Naruto breathed out a sigh of relief when he ‘saw’ Boruto scattering the Nature Energy he had gathered.
“It almost seems like fate, doesn't it? Are you going to put them on the same team?”
“It looks like I have to. I thought putting them on different teams would help their teammates, but with this…”

“Yes, that little girl seems to be healing him. Though it is unfortunate she won't be on the same team as Himawari.”
“I don't think that is such a bad thing. I'll just have to create a necklace for my little princess, maybe a tiara too. Now I have to reorganize even the team leaders too.”
Karin felt like the Rinnegan was scraping her raw. If her Mizumi hadn't awakened her third Tomoe, she would have not been able to keep it active for so long. Her connection with the God Tree base was getting better at least. If the Tree could accept her eyes as it own she might be able to stand equal to Sasuke. Even if they were never going to be together, she wanted to look at him as equals just once. At least Naruto had acknowledged her, his son Boruto saw her as family.
The scroll Naruto had given her had given her new ideas. The creation of Blessed Lands and Grotto Heavens was very interesting. There were also some other things. It seemed that the Uzumaki ancestor wanted to tell her something. Karin wondered if Sasuke had looked at it. Even though it seemed to respond to her genealogy, Sasuke's eyes might have seen some of the mysteries hidden in the scroll.
She looked at the tent with the medic Shinobi. They had come a little after Anko was gone and helped her put up her own tent. For now there had been two students she had to summon out of the forest. She had seen them about to be torn apart by her summons. The tags were lifesaving, it made Karin smile a little. This level of intensity would have not been possible without her.
She had been worried about Kazumi when Mitsuki had almost lost control. She had almost summoned him out when Rock Lee got there. Anko and Rock Lee were already Jonin, the Leaf would not allow Karin to potentially compromise them with her tags. Karin herself advised against it, she knew the trust the leaf had in her was tentative. They instead used standard communications.
When Orochimaru made Mitsuki, Karin had advised him that making him a Sage from the get go was going to make his Sage mode unstable. Jugo was already an example. In fact the Curse Mark was already enough to conclude that, Chakra and all else being equal, the stability and strength of a Sage is related to their understanding. Although Mitsuki had worked hard to understand his Sage Mode, it was not enough to restrain it when he was not calm.
When Boruto had fought with Yakumo, Karin had been worried. At least Yakumo had listened to Boruto when he told him to go easy on him. She was not expecting Boruto to win, so when Yakumo was in danger of being pierced by her arrows she had almost reacted late. She quickly slammed her hand on the scroll causing Yakumo to appear on her back, with her hands covering her face.
“Ahhh”
“Hey you're fine Miss Yakumo.”
Yakumo took her hands off her face and looked at Karin. Karin almost laughed at her airheadedness. She almost asked her why she went easy on Boruto when she knew about the tags.
“Oh, Boruto is hurt.”
Karin saw his bleeding arm. One of the arrows had penetrated his defense.
“I can't believe I was beaten by a student. Not even a Genin. Oh, is it bad?”
“No, an arrow to the forearm. I think he'll be fine. Don't worry about the loss that much, I think that was even the first time he used that move, so even if you weren't able to complete the objective of the exercise, you were able to be a teacher.”
“Oh, he learned a new move. Hmm, in that case I guess it's fine.”
Yakumo got up, dusted herself off and went to the medics. Although Karin didn't see where she was hurt, she figured that Boruto's Gentle Fist had some effect.
When Boruto drew in Nature energy, Karin wanted to slap him.
'How could he do something so dangerous in the middle of an exercise.’
When he lost control of that Nature energy Karin had almost summoned him back. It was not something she wanted, she wanted him to be able to finish the exam, but if he was doing something so dangerous then this was something he deserved. Then she had seen Sarada rush to his location, that had made her stop. When she successfully made him come to his senses, she had been just as relieved as Sarada.
