Chapter 1

The Chaos Clan, widely regarded amongst the many other clans as one of the most feared clans across the world due to their powerful bloodlimit and sheer power.

Having had enough, the many clans surrounding the Chaos lands banded together into a terrifying alliance, and together, drove off the oppressive and brutal chaos clan, but at a horrible cost.

Having lost over 80% of their members, the Chaos clan was forced to flee. The clan leader, a man regarded as capable of destroying an army alone, had perished during the battle, and thus, the leadership fell upon his brother.

However, the brother didn't want the position, for he knew he would never be able to do what his brother could, but circumstances forced him into power anyway.

Unexpectedly, 3 months after the clan had fled and the leader died, the wife of the old leader was found pregnant with the old leader's child. Said child quickly became a star of shining hope for the remaining clan members, whose life had suffered a drastic downfall in quality. Hence, almost impossible expectations were placed upon someone who wasn't even born yet.

And this is where the story of Alysia Chaos began.

----------------------------------------

"Waaaaa!" The baby cried, sending a jolt down the new mother's back. Her chest still heaved with the effort of birth, but despite that, she was still plenty strong enough to extend her arms expectantly to the midwife, who complied happily enough and handed the newborn baby over without fuss.

"Aren't you a cutie?" The mother cooed softly, cradling the baby in her arms. With a glance, she recognized the newborn as a girl. While she was sure that this fact would somewhat displease some of the more conservative members of the clan, she herself was happy with the baby being a she.

The baby had already stopped crying and was now staring at her with big, golden eyes that were so common amongst the members of the clan. The new mom smiled softly and touched her forehead to that of the newborn.

"I'm sorry for bringing you into a world where you will surely have to face a lot of difficulties, and yet, please forgive my selfishness. I love you, Alysia..." The mother trailed off softly as she kissed the baby on the cheek before bringing her to her breast.

The midwife stared at the parent and baby with something akin to longing. Her own two sons had died in the battle along with her husband, and she couldn't help but feel envy, which was followed by a sharp pang of guilt at her own feelings. Feeling somewhat ashamed, she quickly left the room to alert the elders and leader.

"Leader-sama, the baby was born healthy and strong, and the mother is well too." The midwife, who, in truth, was a skilled and powerful ninja, reported dutifully to the 6 men in the room.

The clan, after having finally shaken off their pursuers, had quickly taken over a village and slaughtered anyone who dared to resist. Now, although they didn't have any luxuries anymore, they at least had a base, hence why the old leader's wife had finally given birth.

"Good, I'm glad brother's legacy is well. Anything else?" He asked the midwife while the elders murmured to themselves about whatever it was elders talked about.

"Yes, leader-sama. The baby was born a girl, I thought you might want to know." The midwife explained. The leader nodded and waved her off with his hand before turning to the elders.

"Leader-sama, is it truly a good idea to give the title of clan heir to a woman? It might disgrace the clan." One of the elders instantly spoke up the moment the midwife left the room. He was rewarded for his troubles with a sharp glare from the leader, which made him shrink back.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

"While I agree with you a boy would have been better, do you think we have other options? Would you rather have no heir at all? I, for one, will make sure the girl is raised as a proper Chaos clanswoman, and I am fully expecting everyone to do the same as well. We do not have the numbers left to afford to be picky nor wasteful, if she turns out to be useless, we will cross that bridge then, but for now, if you don't satisfy me with your actions and words, I will have your heads, consequences be damned." the leader hissed venomously. The elders nodded, satisfied by the leader's aggression and quickly gave their word that they would do their best.

That night, the leader visited the newborn clan heir and new mother. He paused at the door, listening as the baby blabbered happily while the mom made strange noises. He peeked his head in slightly, his golden eyes softening at the scene before him.

Alysia was being held by her mother by her armpits and was currently in the middle of being 'flown' around. She gurgled happily while her mother made 'whoosh' noises.

When the mother noticed her clan leader, she froze briefly before carefully putting the baby in her crib, ignoring the whine that her baby made for being put down.

"Leader-sama." The mother said while giving him a deep bow. The leader smiled before walking over to the baby, who had stopped making noises and was openly observing him with wide eyes.

He glanced at the mother, asking for permission with his eyes. She hesitated for a second before slowly nodding.

Smirking, he carefully picked the 1-day old baby up and brought it up to his eyes. The baby cried out unhappily at being picked up by someone, not her mother, but both adults ignored her protests as the leader carefully inspected her body, looking for any possible problems.

While it was usually the father's job to make sure the baby wasn't born with any conditions due to their Chaos bloodline, as it was very much prone to malign mutations, in these circumstances, the leader took the job upon himself, both out of responsibility as the new clan leader, as well as respect to his deceased brother.

"She's all good." He stated briefly after another couple of minutes. He had even used chakra to inspect her insides, and everything seemed as it should be.

The mother smiled lightly. "I'm glad. Thank you, Leader-sama."

He snorted and put the baby back in its crib, ignoring the urine that now seeped through his clothes. "You know you can call me by name, Yuna."

She pursued her lips in disagreement, but the leader merely raised a brow. Finally, she sighed in defeat. "Yes, Kel-sama."

There was a stretch of silence after that as both adults observed Alysia as she tried to crawl around her crib but still failed spectacularly. Finally, after around 10 minutes, when Alysia had fallen asleep, Kel spoke up.

"You know, the elders have already asked me when I will begin training her." He spoke somberly. It wasn't something he wanted to do, but he needed to get Yuna to understand that the elders wouldn't back down on this, and he for once agreed with them. The sooner the better.

Yuna grimaced. "Already talking about this? Aren't you at least going to give me some time to recover from the birth?"

Kel snorted. "Yuna, don't underestimate our Chaos bloodline's regenerative powers. If little Alysia here can already interact with the world, so can you. Toughen up."

Yuna's eyes hardened. "Leader-sama, I believe it is time for me to feed the child, would you mind taking your sorry little behind and dragging it out the door thank you." She stated, not asked. Kel smirked at her attitude, glad she was at least somewhat back to herself. There had been a while after her late husband's death in which Yuna had truly seemed as though she might never recover from the loss, but evidently, the baby in her had given her hope, just as it was doing now.

"Yeah, yeah. Damn women, so bossy." Yuna rolled her eyes at his attitude but said nothing, glad he was both taking his new duties seriously but also still being his old sassy self.

Stealing a glance at Alysia, who was deeply asleep, she forced herself not to bang her head against a wall when she saw the diapers full again.

The Chaos bloodlimit was a mysterious thing. It granted all Chaos clansmen extremely powerful bodies, massive chakra reserves, ungodly regenerative powers as well as a metabolism which could leave even the Akamichi to shame. This was all well and good, but for mothers, this meant a lot of diaper-changing, which sort of made Yuna want to go out and kill someone to relieve her frustration.

However, all of the said frustration melted away when she looked at Alysia's innocent sleeping face. Yup, not even a day in and already Alysia had her wrapped neatly around her finger. Oh well.
