Chapter 16 : Clan competition

9 months later

It has been nine months since my father started training me; it has been the most miserable nine months of my life since birth. It is literally breaking my body every day and healing it again at night.

My healing factor makes me durable, which means more training. I am faster and more durable than any of the kids my age. On the jutsu side, there has been no major improvement as my blindness has restricted me from learning any major clan techniques.

I have created and perfected my jutsu to combat my blindness. My jutsu creates a 360-degree view of my surroundings at a range of 10 metres using my tenketsu points. This jutsu paints the entire 10-metre range into a black-and-white picture.

Black is the colour of inanimate objects, and white is the colour of living objects. Together, they create a half-baked spiritual sense, like in xianxia novels. I have named this technique "Omni sense." It is clearly not at the level of Byakugan, but it is suitable for my current needs.

Also, there is not much improvement in my other jutsu's as I haven't opened my Byakugan. But I have learned about my tenketsu points, and now I can emit chakra from my 361 body tenketsu points and also close my tenketsu points to make me invisible to individuals other than dojutsu holders.

While there has been little improvement in chakra quality levels, my chakra quantity and physical powers have improved tremendously. I can now compete with anyone in the chunin level and can even compete against the jonin level with a team of capable chunin.

My yogic powers have also risen simultaneously during this time period. I have almost awakened my SUSHMA NADI, and it would take me more than 2-3 months to awaken it, and then I can finally start to simulate my seven yogic chakra points.

During these months, my case of being infected with glaucoma has been known across the clan. Most of the members of the Hyuga family are repulsed and afraid of me now.

Everyone has avoided me now, like a plague. I can't get close to anyone other than my parents; even my friends are afraid to get close to me. Only Sachiko has asked how I was, and even she was apprehensive of me.

I don't actually blame them; I have caught a mysterious disease that will result in death. It will also make you blind nonetheless. It is meant to cause terror in their hearts. And even the clan patriarch reassuring them will not cause any change in the situation.

I am still living in the clan compound, which is the biggest concession they can make without upsetting the whole clan. We can see an example of this in the modern world too, as everyone is afraid of cancer patients, despite cancer being a 'non-transmissible disease'.

Among all of this, the date of the tournament is coming close. Our and other clans are preparing for this tournament fervently. No one is resting; even the fight between clans has been minimised to a certain degree, and there is a rare time of peace on the whole continent.

There are a total of six children in the age range, including me, who have combat powers for this competition. Everyone except me is being trained; there will be constant matches between them to determine their expertise, and even special jutsu are being provided to them according to their expertise.

This jutsu's are something I desperately wanted, as the knowledge of the whole clan is better than the mentorship of a single person (my dad). The only reason I am even allowed to participate is because I am a dying man, and it doesn't matter if I die now or two years later.

I observed the matches of these young contenders alongside my father. Each of them displayed remarkable talent, surpassing the typical abilities of children under ten years old. They are three boys and two girls, and they are all between the chunin and genin levels.

This is a good feat for anyone in the age group of under 10 years, and they are not fortunate enough to be blessed by lady luck and are defying the natural order of strength like Hashirama or Madra.

In this group of five individuals, there is also this individual whose name is Kyoichi Hyuga, the third child of the patriarch, whose strength is just below mine and who is considered a genius among the clan and admired by many clan members.

His combat powers are good; he can fight any individual at chunin level, and he is considered the leader of the team in this upcoming tournament. He has a good sense of leadership and can be considered a candidate for the Hyuga clan patriarchy.

We had a small chat after the fight between the candidates, and sure enough, he has the charisma of the clan leader at such a young age. He knows enough about me—my strength, my combat powers, my newly created jutsu—all of it. Honestly, I am not even surprised at his revealment, as the walking radar eyes of Hyuga's are famous around the world.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

He said he wanted to test my combat readiness and asked for a match between us. The elders agreed, and so a match began.

3rd Person POV

Both contestants stood at opposite ends of the arena. One being the clan's patriarch's son, and the other being the blind child of a Hyuga Elder that was praised a few years ago.

We could sense the anticipation in the air. Kyoichi, with his long, dark hair tied back, exuded confidence. His Byakugan eyes were focused on his opponent, and his demeanour was calm and composed. His eyes were talking about his personal pride.

On the other side, it was Adi who wore a pristine white kimono adorned with intricate blue accents that showcased the Hyuga clan's distinctive symbol on the back and a white blindfold wrapping around his eyes, showcasing his blindness. Despite being blind, a feeling of confidence can be felt in him.

Both fighters were staring at each other, trying to find a tinge of weakness. The signal from the referee started the match between them.

As the fight started, the two fighters moved with speed akin to lightning. Kyoichi closed the gap between him and Adi in an instant, launching a flurry of precise strikes. His mastery of the Hyuga Gentle Fist style was evident as he aimed for your tenketsu points.

Adi used his new jutsu that he called 'Omni Sense' to track his movements, relying on the black and white images to predict his attacks. With his clearly enhanced speed and durability, he managed to evade most of the Kyoichi strikes, but a few landed, causing minor injuries. As the fight continued, his wounds began to heal, showing his regenerative abilities.

Not wanting to be seen as defensive, Adi decided to go on the offensive. Channelling his chakra through his body's tenketsu points, he unleashed a barrage of chakra-infused strikes. Kyoichi deftly blocked and dodged Adi's attacks, showcasing his own impressive skills.

The fight raged on, with the two of them exchanging blows in a blur of motion. Kyoichi's Byakugan gave him an advantage in terms of precision, but Adi's Omni Sense and your fast reflexes allowed him to maintain a broader ground and avoid making a mistake during a fight.

As the battle continued, both of them began to exhaust their chakra reserves. Kyoichi's clearly having more chakra control was evident, and it was even to the point that he could tie Adi despite him possessing much more chakra.

As the fight progressed, Kyoichi started to use jutsu's and 'The Eight Trigrams Palm Rotation' to defend against an upcoming attack from Adi. Kyoichi used a 'palm heel strike' to try to end the match quickly. This strategy worked as Adi was sent to fly across the field.

The crowd fell silent for a moment as Adi struggled to his feet, his face still determined. He wiped a trickle of blood from his mouth and, with a nod of respect, acknowledged his opponent's skill.

The match resumed, but it was clear that Kyoichi had the upper hand. With a final, well-placed strike, Kyoichi knocked Adi to the ground, his body unable to continue the fight.

The referee declared you the winner, and the crowd erupted into applause. Despite being blind, Adi had shown immense resilience and talent, earning the respect and admiration of the clan members.

He was able to fight Kyoichi, the current genius of the clan. It is a testament to his determination and the unique abilities he developed despite his condition.

Adi POV

This was my very first fight other than fighting my father, and I have to say it was exhilarating. I have hidden my few moves, but I can tell Kyoichi was hiding some of his too.

I can be considered to be losing this round because being blind has cost me a year, and I still have to work to decipher the Vedas. Despite all this, coming to an almost tie with such a genius gives me a certain edge over him, and I am sure I will defeat him in the future.

So, our team is ready, but there are still almost 2 months remaining in the tournament, so in the remaining time, my dad decided to take me to see and participate in the real war. Our Hyuga family has to maintain a certain estate, and there are numerous attacks on this estate by the bandits, Ronin (wandering samurai's), or other clans.

During these two months, I will try to polish my moves and combat tactics, and I am sure that being on a real battlefield will give me a tremendous boost in the psychological aspect of my brain.

The fight with Kyoichi has also shown me a few of my weaknesses in my own moves. So, I will try to correct these mistakes, and there is a need to create a deadly jutsu to incapacitate the opponent that I will have to work on.
