After Jiraia left, I got outside, intent on finding something fresh to eat. I climbed down the stairs and walked out of the door to the inn we were staying, voices of speaking and laughing fading away with every step. I looked right and saw a blond man with a red jacket with a gray shirt and gray pants. He was looking around like searching for something. Curious, I made my way to him and greeted him, “Hello mister, did you lost something?”
He looked at me while still searching with glances around. He came closer to me and whispered, “I lost my wallet.” He looked at me oddly then continued, “It has so much money in it too. I hope no one finds it.” He put his right hand on top of his head and gave me the same odd look again. He then pointed to a dark alleyway and said, “The last I know, I had my wallet back there. It should be there.” He then turned around and started walking away. “If a kid were to find it, they would be able to buy all kinds of cool things with it.”
I looked at the departing man and to the alley, he showed me. I sighed, ‘Are you kidding me? This guy is either crazy or his fishing.’ I quickly used Observe on him.

‘This guy probably works for yakuza. Should I spring the trap? Can I spring the trap without outing myself as a shinobi?’ While thinking, I heard a shrill scream. It came from the alley Deku pointed at. I walked there carefully and saw two men holding a girl… Saru. She looked at me hopefully while the men taking her away. ‘I should find Jiraia…’ I shook my head. ‘What if I find him too late? I must do this myself. If I get caught too, I am pretty sure Jiraia can find me before someone does something bad to me.’
Resolving myself, I ran behind the man. I was quiet enough that they didn’t notice me approaching. When I was in range, I jumped and punch one of the men behind the head. The other one dropped Saru quickly who started running outside the alley and turned to me with a snarl. “I will show you why not to interfere with our business.” He took out a knife from his pocket and started inching closer to me. I carefully observed him. He was a tall man with bulging muscles. His stance was… amateurish. From what I could see, he was sure of himself and intending to attack me.

He continued to inch closer to me without changing his stance, then jumped at me quickly while swinging his dagger low, towards my head. I dodged to the side and kicked his leg. He grunted but quickly stood up again. “I will give this to you kid. You know how to hit. That must be the reason my brick head of a friend couldn’t wake up yet. You would make a great subordinate but you are out of luck. He then took a step back and made a hand sign. ‘Is that a jutsu?’ After a second he started coming towards me decidedly faster but not fast enough to hit me. He overextended his arm so I ducked under it, held it with my left hand, pulling it down, and with my right hand punched up. There was a crack and the man’s arm started swaying side to side. Then there was a scream.
I didn’t stop though. I rushed at him and punched his chin. As soon as my fist connected, he was out like lights.
“Well done kid.” I looked at the voice, it was Jiraia and Soichiro. He looked at the men lying about and continued, “Next time try to be more aggressive. Don’t give your enemy time to use any jutsu. Other than that, you are good.”
“Thanks, father.” I beamed at him. “I guess Saru found you.”
Jiraia nodded, “Now I probably should scold you for not asking for my help but you did a good job by yourself. Just next time make sure you have a trail.” I nodded, he nodded back, “Good.” He looked at the man lying on the ground and asked, “Did you learn anything from them?”
“They are working for a man named Satsu. The man told me about the wallet was working for him too.” I said while pointing towards the inn.
“What wallet?” Soichiro talked for the first time since he came here.
I looked at Jiraia who nodded and answered, “There was a man outside the inn. He told me he lost his wallet here and inside was lots of money. Saru must have heard him.”
Soichiro sighed, “Why? We don’t need money.”
‘Should I tell him?’ I looked at Jiraia. He sighed and shook his head so I stayed silent. I turned to the thugs. “Are we going to tell the guards about them?”
Soichiro looked at the thugs and took out a knife. He made his way to them and slit the first one's throat. I was horrified by the move and my stomach was threatening to send my breakfast out. Soichiro turned from the men. “Is this the first time you see a person die?” I nodded. He came to me and gave me the knife. “Kill the other one. Trust me, you want to do this when you are safe rather than when you are fighting for your life in the future.” I looked at the downed thug with wide eyes and turned to Jiraia who didn’t look very happy. He nodded at me slightly.
I gulped loudly and made my way to the thug. He was lying there, unconscious. His chest was moving fast in an attempt to take enough air from his bad position. I put the knife on the man’s throat and felt his heart pumping blood to his body, keeping him alive. I closed my eyes and with a single stroke, cut the man’s life short.
