Prologue: The Start

“This place is just as grim as usual” A short figure in a traditional white Chinese robe remarked as he stared into distance of demon’s hell, anticipated the terrifying horrors that lurks in the sin-fueled realm where countless souls trapped inside their host body rot and tortured by the demons of the 7 Archdemons. His wolf-like ears picking up the chorus of horrid cries of agony that emanated throughout the realm, his heart ached from the gruesome scenes of torture that took place, sliced up body parts and blood liter the crimson red stone beneath as a foul aura of death and decay wafted about.

He begun to chant, the ground beneath him was purified leaving the stone untainted by vile non-corporeal matter, the body parts and blood alike dematerialized into light particles as it purified the dreadful air, the demon’s that heard his chants fled from the area as they felt their heads contracting, their ears ringing loudly to the point their mind might have been torn apart had they stayed. The pitiful captured souls residing within the bodies and corpses alike all fled through a channel created by the figure upon entering demon’s hell earlier, their minds all eased up as their unrightful suffering has ended.

“Well, this is bizarre.” He saw a soul covered in a super thick layer of red mist trapped inside an unconscious body that had been scorched completely black down to its bones. But the thing that surprised him is that the unlucky soul did not try to escape, as if it’s been asleep compared to the very active souls that are constantly awake due to the painful suffering that they endured from being tortured by the demons.

He attempted to pull the soul out of the burnt body but in that moment, a burst of flames engulfed his hand. “What the!?” He pulled his hand away before the flames fully swallowed his hand whole. He merely sighed as he took out a rod like object and pointed at the soul before he spoke in a commanding voice. “Devolve!”

At that moment the red mist immediately dispersed leaving only a soul that emitted a dim yellow light penetrating through some of the black aura shrouding its surface. He was still mystified by what he had encountered.

“No wonder the demons didn’t come to torture this soul, the soul evolved itself as a countermeasure yet somehow the soul itself is…unconscious?” he remarked as his voice trailed off, genuinely confused at what happened to the soul’s consciousness.

A sharp sound of a projectile zipping through the air at him broke the silence as he turned around, slapped the spear that was seemingly made out of bone away from him as it stuck deep to the ground, leaving a darker shade of red on impact. A silhouette of what seemed like a woman in a black dress standing several hundred meters away from himself, he noticed her deep red eyes and along with it felt like he was staring at the abyss, described as an incomprehensibly large mass of dark. Then, the woman spoke, her voice could be heard with uncanny distortions corrupting the words she spoke. “You, what do you think you’re doing in my master’s domain?”

“Well, nothing much besides freeing the poor souls that ended up in this filthy realm.” He responded nonchalantly

Her expression twisted to that of anger as several thousand demons were summoned around him by her command, the red skinned demons ranging from the bulky brutes to the mischievous imps, wielding unrefined broad looking blades, sharp black tridents and some even carrying tomes that emanated a dark mist.

“Surrender and I’ll be more lenient with your execution, wolf daemon!”

“Didn’t think a bride of a demon like you knew what a daemon is especially considering the fact that never were bright minded to begin with. It’s been fun and all chatting with you but I’m afraid that I’ll be taking my leave.” He said shrugging his shoulder as he grabbed the soul that he had just devolved.

“Slaughter him!”

The demons surrounding the robe wearing figure all charged towards their adversary at the woman’s command although before any of them could land a single blow. He swung the rod with his right hand as he sliced down the approaching demon’s surrounding him, forming a protective ring that radiated light of unparalleled brilliance causing the unlucky the demons that were too close, to have their idealistic bodies to be completely vaporized from existence. The 365 octagonal joints of the rigid rod cranked as its joints rotated in a chaotic pattern, a crank sound heard as each joint rotated about 45 degrees in either direction.

The tome wielding imps unleashed a barrage of dark power upon the daemon but to no avail, as the strength of their powers were miniscule compared to the adversary that they are facing.

The woman in black dress was not pleased, the ground beneath her crumbled as a violent surge of energy erupted and shot out of the sin-fueled rock beneath her as it culminated into a single black orb in her right hand as she flung it at the light.

A sound of an explosion spanned across the entire hell, alerting the greater and lesser demons alike as they head towards the center of the explosion.

The area was littered with corpses of the demons that were caught in the ensuing blast as deep black ichor stained the ground. A wide bottomless crater was formed in the aftermath, the space in the crater all warped and distorted, in a way that goes against the known laws of nature. Only the woman remained unharmed as she stood there, furious that the intruder escaped from her grasp. Her hands clenched tightly causing black blood to ooze onto the ground beneath her. She stared at the demons that had just arrived.

“Report to your demon master, that an intruder took away his most prized prisoner immediately!” she commanded in a loud tone as she fumed in anger.
