Twin Nowell Schools

Twin Nowell Schools

I wake up to see blinding light coming from the balcony. I sat up, stretched, and yawned. I got off the bed, fixed it up, and went to take a shower. I walked inside and fortunately, I found a toothbrush and some toothpaste on the sink, most likely Ukos put them there while I was asleep. While I was brushing my teeth, I heard knocking,

“Nameless, it’s me Ukos, I’ve prepared your uniform. I’ll wait for you outside your room and lead you to the dining hall for breakfast,” I love Ukos. He’s so dependable and always there for you when you need him. Glad to have him as a friend.

After finishing brushing my teeth and cleansing myself, I walked out from the bathroom and saw my uniform on the bed. A normal uniform, some parts of it black, some of it dark red. A dark red tie and so forth.

I dressed up in the school uniform and looked at myself in the mirror. Not too bad, not too bad at all. Still, dislike how uncomfortable uniforms are. Otherwise, the uniform fits me. I walked out of the door to see Ukos waiting for me.

“Good morning, Nameless. You slept well?”

“Yes, thanks Ukos, so where is the dining hall?” I’m starving like hell.

“This way.”

Just two rooms from the left, there were stairs. We walked down them and continued on from there as the dark features of this mansion still makes you think it’s midnight outside, though it isn’t.

After walking two floors down, I already started to smell sausages and eggs. At this point, I just followed where my nose pointed. Down the next three floors and five doors to the left again, this time not a single door, but a double. I opened it, to be blinded by the illumination of the dining hall. I let my eyes adjust until I finally saw it.

A huge dining hall, if you look at it you might think of it as a restaurant than a dining hall. There are many rows of tables everywhere with white soft all over them. The floor full of tiles and in many weird patterns, and in the middle, a huge glass chandelier. And if you looked at it the same way as I am right now, the entire place would feel like it’s the size of a football field.

Yes, like I said, this mansion is huge! If you’re surprised about the size I just mentioned, then you aren’t thinking big enough. If you still have a hard time imagining it, then just imagine a castle.

In the middle, I saw everyone, the hundred year trio sisters (Get it? Because the three are part of races that live over a hundred years) and the seductive couple (Yes, it’s obvious enough that I call them that). Or you can say, my new family. I ran to them with Ukos following. They notice us and all waved.

Of course, since the dining hall is the size of a football field (If you don’t know how big then here, 160 feet wide, and 360 feet long. Totally didn’t just google that), it took me awhile to get there. While I did, Ukos is just jogging behind me making sure I’m alright. Bet he can get there five times faster than I could.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fast runner, but just being a fast runner isn’t going to cut it. There are so many things in this world that could make you faster, and if you want an example of fast in this world, then here it is. Breaking the sound barrier.

Ya, that hurts.

Took me a minute to get there, mostly because I had to get past all the tables. When I finally made it, I sighed as I saw everyone already enjoying their breakfast.

I sat down at the round eight seater table. Ukos lifted the cover dome on top my plate and there I saw my breakfast. Some over easy eggs, sausages and a very brown toast with jelly on top of it. The toast was already a little soggy, probably because I’m like five minutes later than everyone here.

I took a bite, but when I did, I began to chug down the food. I tried to keep my tears in, but it was so long since I had a normal breakfast. I began to tear up anyway.

“I see you’re enjoying breakfast.” I looked up to see my stepmother smiling at me. It wasn’t just my mother smiling at me. I looked around and everyone was looking at me with a smile. I couldn’t hold it any longer. I began to tear up more, to the point where they began to go down my cheek.

“I’m just… so happy, that I finally have a family. I’ve been in the orphanage for so long that I don’t even know what happiness was anymore, but now since I’m eating a normal breakfast with everyone,” I already was choking on my tears, “I just… feels so… happy.”

Before I noticed, the hundred year trio sisters were all hugging me. Father and mother both continue to smile at me. I wiped my tears. After that, everyone continued eating and chatting happily. “Now with all that over,” I blinked nervously. Everyone turned towards my direction. “What were all your names again?” Everyone paused.

Ha! I knew I wasn’t the only one! It took almost ten hours until we all finally noticed. Heck, I even saw a drop of sweat go down Ukos’s forehead.

Everyone finished their food, slowly, and we all decided that everyone will introduce themselves to me one by one. Lucine stands up.

“My name is Lucine Devilan. As you can notice I’m a vampire! I’m twelve years old! I’m good at cooking and good at sports! Nice to you meet you!” She winked at me. Though all I did was just stare at her. She sat back down with a depressed atmosphere around her. Arcana was next.

“I’m Arcana Devilan, an elf and a recommended selection for the top tier colleges of mage craft and science. I’m the same age and grade as Lucine. A pleasure to meet you.” She bowed with a smiled. I nodded in response.

I’ll ask her for help if I have trouble with my homework. Just joking, she might be the one I'm the most kindness to. Boy, am I wrong. The Itha was next.

“Hello, I’m Itha Devilan. I’m the same grade and age of both my sisters. Happy to meet you.” Her eyes sparkled. To be honest, she was adorable. Wouldn’t be surprised if every adult that sees her all of a sudden rain boxes of candy on us. Though sadly after that, she returned to her constant blank stare. Mother was next.

“As already set down, I’m your new mom! My name is Rosaleen Devilan. From now on, I’ll try my best to get back home as soon as possible to enjoy my time with everyone!” She made a big smile that would attract almost every man. Father was the final person. When he stood up and went in front of me, I was set back by the fearsome and dark aura that set around him.

“My name is Charlan Devilan, I’m a principle of the school you’ll be attending. This is how I am most of the time when meeting students or other teachers. I’m rather busy with businesses and solving technical issues going on around this dimension. I hope you don’t get too afraid of this personality I’m using,” He then started to sound nervous, “Cause I don’t think a father should really scare his own child.” I wasn’t scared though, but amazed. I clapped to it. So my father is an awesome and badass looking principle. And that was it.

You already know Ukos as a friendly and great butler. So yeah, we’re done.

We all set out and went outside to see a black limousine, the one that brought me here. Rosaleen cuddled me.

“You’re even cuter with that small middle school uniform on you!” Did I really get cuter with the uniform on me? I doubt it. I don’t know how my mother thinks I’m even cuter now after washing and fixing myself. Well… with all the disgusting germs stuff on me gone, I might look a little better, but I still don’t think I look that good. I mostly placed myself as average on the attractive men scale.

I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Ukos holding a school binder.

“Your binder, Nameless,” He gave it to me, “I’ve prepared all the necessities.”

“Thanks, Ukos.” Ukos nodded to my appreciation and stood beside Charlan and Rosaleen. I waved to them, with the hundred year trio behind me, as we drove off.

-----

The three watched as the limousine drove off, Rosaleen turns to Charlan and sees him smiling. She smiled too and put up the image of me crying with a smile in her head. Ukos smiles as well upon seeing them and goes back to the mansion to do chores. Charlan and Rosaleen continued to watch where the limousine left to, and the Rosaleen questioned,

“Charlan, what do you think about what happened at breakfast?” Charlan tries to hold is laugh.

“You mean where we forget to introduce ourselves to Nameless?” They both try to hold their laughter but failed. They laughed for an entire minute until they couldn’t breathe anymore.

“He’s so cute. I wished I have gotten a picture of when he was crying and smiling. He looked so innocent.” Her cheeks go red and she started moving in motion where you can already tell she was lost in her own imagination.

“Now then, time to get the paperwork done and get going to Nowell.”

“You’re so lucky, you get to see Nameless all day.” She makes a funny, puffy, mad face.

“Don’t worry about that, I also need to do some work at the school as well.” And then both of them went off to do what they needed to do for the day.

-----

I sat down and relaxed on the same seat that I first sat on in this limousine. A box was put on my lap, I looked up and saw that Lucine was that one who put it there. I picked it up and inspected it and after few seconds I finally realized it was a bento. I opened it to see the contents, it was white rice, orange chicken, and some vegetables. A Japanese tradition you can kinda say. I looked up to see that Lucine was the one who gave it to me.

“Oh, thanks Lucine.”

“That’s big sister to you.” She winked at me again.

Two minutes passed before I remembered some of the questions that still remained in my mind since yesterday.

“So, is there two of the same school or something like that? I’m just curious.” Everyone looked towards my direction, Arcana was the one that stepped up to answer it.

“Oh, I forgot mother and father didn’t explain it to you. Like you said, there are two schools. Both with the same name. Though the school itself was made during the time where women complained of not having enough rights. Or you can say the Woman's Rights Campaign. Due to how things turned out and the relationships between men and women, they decided to make two schools. One, originally, for boys and the other for girls. Even now some girls still despise boys.”

Well, this explained about the word school having an S in the end.

In case you don’t know, the history of this world is similar to your reader’s world. If you want an example, the atomic bomb that hit Japan 1945. The atomic bomb was already created at the 1500s, the time medieval age existed in your world. The atomic bomb hit Japan on the same date. The atomic bomb instead during that time was two times as powerful than before (30,000 tons of TNT) due to many enchantments, explosive magic and many more mixed in it.

Many mages of Japan tried to create many walls of earth, and enchanters, reinforcing the walls to stop the bomb. Unfortunately, even if they did, it still wasn’t strong enough to stop a damn atomic bomb twice as powerful. Though in the end, there were the same amount of casualties as you readers had. Same history, different causes, and effects. There are also added parts as well, The Slaying of the Demon King, Golden Age of Magic, and many more. Again, same history.

“Man, the past really messed up the future. It might be bad if I met a girl who attends that school then, right?”

“Yes, though most of the time it isn’t. Like I said, some girls still despise boys. Not all girls are disgusted with you guys.” I guess it’s alright for me. Anyways, with that aside that’s one question out of my mind. Charlan, my adoptive father, is the principle of my school. That I can relax with. The problem now is, how are the boys in the school I’m attending? Hopefully, they aren’t annoying in any sort of way.

Gah! I’m having that, “You just made a big mistake saying that,” vibe again.

The limousine stopped, I looked out and saw my school. What I saw wasn’t a normal, but a huge and beautiful school.

Just the entrance is enough to tell you that this school was built with lots of dedication.

There was the gate, it was made out of a metal you readers don’t know about yet, though it will be explained later as the metal that nullifies magic. Beyond the gate leads to a fountain that was as big as the cherry blossom trees. That laid aside blooming next to the pathway as you walked towards the fountain.

The entire pathway is paved with some sort of smooth grey stone, all carved into big rectangular looking bricks. The fountain is also made out of shiny white marble with very clean looking water coming out of it. But passed the fountain you can see the school. It had a very Japanese type of structure to the building. Besides that though, the school almost looked two times bigger than many other schools I’ve seen.

The outer walls had the normal colored bricks that are light red and brown. Every window (literally every window) shined as if cleaned every day and everything green and plant life related looked healthy as ever. It also has that roof with fencing all out it. This you can say is a beautiful and eventful place.

I got out of the limousine and breathed in and out. The air also smelled so fresh. I turned around and waved at the hundred year trio. They waved back and then drove away. I turned around to see my school again. I think I’m going to love it here, a lot.

-----

They drove away and continued to watch Nameless until they couldn’t see him anymore. The sisters looked at each other and nodded. The plan will commence once they get to school. The plan to find out if Nameless is lying about all his feelings or is truthfully showing them without regret or shame.

-----

I open my binder and pulled out a paper. The front showed the school map on the front. On the back, it showed my schedule and class letter and number. I put it back in and started walking straight away. Apparently, on how I see it, my school starts an hour earlier than my three sisters school (7:30 A.M). Lucky them, I’ll have to wake up and get ready for school earlier.

I walked up three floors, turned to the left and walked by four rooms. Class D-4… There it is. I looked the large window and saw my class. Like they said, a boys school. Every student in there is a boy. Though what got me surprised is that every single one of them looked human. However, I wouldn’t be a surprise if half or more of the students in this class are part animal or something.

I walked to the door and knocked. I heard walking on the other side and the sliding door open. There I saw my teacher, sensei to be exact. He was a man who looked about as big as Charlan. He had black hair and nice looking seeing glasses. Though he had a blank stare, same as Itha's, but it looked more of a void. And looking at him, I guess he’s around his 20s. He looked down at me.

“You’re one of the new students I presume,” I nodded. He had this bland voice. “That’s 15, five are still missing and are late. What’s your name?”

“I’m Nameless, the newly adopted son of the Devilans.” Sensei widen his eyes a bit and smiled.

“Ahh, so you’re the new son. Your father talked a lot about how handsome, observative, and smart you are.” It’s already at the point where it’s most likely they were spying on me at the orphanage. “I also know that you are an F-Magic Rank. Don’t worry, I don’t judge people by their Magic Rank, but by their knowledge. I expect great things from you, Nameless.”

Hey, he’s not too bad. “Though I have to warn you, I’m the only one who knows you are an F-Magic Rank, nobody else. So I recommend you keep that a secret until later on. Now, come in when I give you the go. I’ll introduce you to your new classmates,” I smiled, my new sensei is very nice. I like it.

For those who don’t know what sensei means, it means teacher in Japanese.

The teacher walked back into the class and went up to the middle of the whole class. He turned to them, “Ok class, we’ve got yet another new student. Please come in.” I walked in and already began to hear murmurs and whispers around the class. I picked up a chalk and started writing my name. I put the chalk back down after finishing and turned to the class.

“Hello, my name is Nameless and I’ll be joining your class. Hope we can be great friends.” Rather short, but I wanted to get straight to the point. I bowed, and everyone in the class cheered.

“Hey man! Welcome to hell!” One of the students shouted.

“Koro-sensei will take good care of you!” One of the other students laughed. The teacher slammed the table in front of him.

“I told you to stop calling me Koro-sensei! It’s Mr. Anderson!” Everyone in the class continued to laugh.

Mr. Anderson tightens up his tie and continued his bland look. “Alright, now quiet down,” Everyone did what he said, “Now Nameless, why don’t you sit next to Lucas in the last row.”

I looked at where he pointed and saw him. Lucas waved to me and I started walking to him. He was short, but the same size as Itha. He had a plain looking reading glasses and short hair all put down. The nice thing about the hair is that it looked shiny and with the mixture of his hair being blonde, his eyes blue and having warm beige skin, he looked nice. He mostly looked like a geek, but also a potential cool friend. I walked to him and sat on the chair next to him. The tables were big enough for three people, me sitting in the middle one while Lucas the right. If you looked from the class board, we sat at the very left corner of the class.

Like I said before going in here, the school looked two times bigger than a normal school, if you want size then here is an average for normal schools, 150,000 square feet. Lucas turned to me with a smile.

“Hey, like the teacher said, I’m Lucas. Hope we can be great friends.” I nodded in response with a smile.

Another friend added to the score. Feels good man.

Mr. Anderson looked at his watch, “Alright since we got another one of the new students, I’ll re-explain the reason for this class.” Everyone sighed and yelled. One yelled out,

“Koro-sensei! You don’t have to repeat it every time someone part of this new class joins!” Everyone laughed again.

“I swear to you Alex, if you don’t stop with the Koro-sensei, I’ll strip you down and hang you up on the ceiling!” The laughter became even harder.

Including me. I already love this classroom.

I looked at the jokester from across the class. His name, as already said, is Alex. He had dirty and messy brown hair. Dark blue eyes, and peanut colored skin. He also seemed as big as me, not only that, as old. He noticed me looking at him and made a goofy face. I choked of laughter.

He is definitely going to be part of my friends list. Mr. Koro coughed a bit.

“Alright, now all of that is over, Nameless, I’m going to explain to you about this class and school,”

I nodded, “Good, now, as you might already know there are two schools. One for boys and other for girls. All this was caused because by the Woman’s Right Campaign. Simple as that. Now for the class, the school has decided to allow certain children to enroll without taking any required tests for only this day.”

Oh, now I understand why my (real) parents enrolled me all of a sudden.

“So I’ll say this like I did to all the students here, you are part of a special class made for a special case. And that special case is, to make you smarter, stronger, faster than any of the classes in this school. Might be a hassle, but Principle Charlan has decided this and only a few selected teacher, such as me, are told of the reason why” He looked at me for a short moment then look back to the entire class,

“So, take advantage of this. Make use of every second you are given here. Everything will be different compared to all the other classes. Of course, all the others might hate you, but ignore them. When they continue their attempt to belittle you, say this to yourself when looking at them, I’m better than you.”

I was sent back by the force of those last few words he had said. The entire class clapped. Mr. Anderson let out his breath as if trying to keep it in the entire time. However, one question popped in my mind and I raised my hand.

Anderson takes notice, “Yes Nameless? You have a question?”

“Why would they belittle just for only that reason? There must be another reason why they are doing that, right?” The whole class went silent. I can already tell that I have asked a question I shouldn’t have asked. Anderson coughs as if trying to hold a laugh, and everyone began laughing again. I looked around confused and Anderson finally answered my question.

“Because you are an outsider.”

“An… outsider?”

“Yes, people who live on the outside of this dimension or world.”

“Is there another reason why we are called outsiders?”

“That is a question that will be answered in later lessons. I already know that this is your second day here in this new world Nameless. It’s best to know the truth once you are ready.” After that, a student yells out.

“All of us here except the teacher is an outsider, we’re all in this together man!” The class cheers even louder than before.

I smiled.

I feel like I’m not alone anymore.

Again.
