It was a cold night at the Su Hu house. The sound of the wind and the sound of crickets fill the forest.
The maids are all preparing to go to sleep in their respective quarters. The people in the house were Su Hu, Su Quanzhong, Su Feng and Su Daji.
The wife of Su Hu, Lady Ling is not present as she is in Jizhou waiting for her husband.
Su Hu is sipping some tea after the dinner. He has read the letter that Yu Wang has left and he is just waiting for the young boy.
He also thinks about why he had to go here. He sighed thinking on his current circumstances.
‘The King and the officials…hah, I have been preaching to deaf ears all this time.’ Su Hu said as he put down the tea cup.
The house of Su has offended the Crown Prince of Shang since they do not stood in favour for the Prince for the crown and they have gone to Guilin both to hunt and to hide from the Palace.
Su Hu has advises Shang Rong the Prime Minster of Shang to speak some sense to the Crown Prince but it falls to deaf ears.
Shang Rong is a pleaser and rather praise the Crown Prince rather than talk some sense. One day he would surely be punished by the Heavens
It’s because of Minister Jiang they decided to retire a while form the matter of the Palace. Considering that they are one of the nobility and with recommendation by Minister Jiang the current King of Shang allows it.
And here they are in Guilin a remote region in the Kingdom of Shang. Here at least they thought they will be safe for a while before Minister Jiang could put his plan into motion.
Su Hu was just about to take another sip when suddenly he heard cries and scream.
‘Run! We have been attacked’ Su Hu heard his maid cried.
Quickly Su Hu gets up from his seat and rushed outside, but not before he instruct Su Feng and Su Quanzhong to find their sister and hide her.
He could see the bloody scene of 11 people riding warhorses slaughtering his maid before stopping in the middle of the courtyard while fire burns from the entrance gate.
How could normal servant run from the warhorses of the palace? They were butchered and grinded to meat each time one of the man swings their weapons.
Su Hu looks onto one of the men, who is sitting on the back and has quite the majestic aura and he quickly recognize the man.
Su Hu balled his fist and yelled
‘CHONG HOUHU!’
Who would have thought that tonight he is facing a brutal attack by a dozen of elite soldier led by Chong Houhu a Union with Nature cultivator, a rank higher from Su Hu and at middle level too.
His strength and brutality is famed even inside of the palace.
Su Hu looks at the entrance gate and he surmised what happen. Chong Houhu must have used his strength to break through the gate.
‘He should have brought guards’ Su Hu cursed in his heart.
And Su Hu thought is quite correct.
When they first attacked, Chong Houhu use his sword pressure to destroy the wooden gate with one slash of his sword.
Then another thing happened.
Quickly Su Hu realizes the disturbance in the air, the malevolent energy rippling out and Su Hu leapt into action almost immediately.
He leapt to the courtyard and he is in a safe distance from Chong Houhu. Houhu just smiled.
Houhu killing intent flashed out and it is thanks to Su Hu sense that he quickly distance himself or he might have been attacked and die at the spot.
The elite guard instead of attacking him, give way to their leader as Chong Houhu bring his horse closer to the front and they meet face to face.
This men both look at each other, Chong Houhu sitting on top of his horse looking down on Su Hu who is standing straight on the ground, staring at each other.
Chong Houhu has a large physique, and older than Su Hu, a fierce face, and possess a strict gaze like a blade.
Energy radiated from him and waved around him. All behind him was 11 people with the cultivation base of Profound Understanding.
‘HAHAHA. Su Hu we meet again!’ Chong Houhu said his face betrayed his words, killing intent roiled out of him like an inbounding sea.
‘Prepare to die!’ He yelled. He is not a man of many words. Why be long winded?
He is not a scholar, he is a military officer and he is doing what the royal family orders him to do.
There is no need to explain anything.
Chong Houhu then jumps from his horse back and flies to Su Hu while Su Hu uses his agility to take more distance from Chong Houhu while Chong Houhu laugh and started attacking randomly.
The spirit energy released by his sword energy break the pillars of the house and the wall crumbles to dust.
It was a display of power and also because Su Hu believes that Chong Houhu is trying to find other people in the house, witnesses or even his children.
This is too cruel! Thought Su Hu. He intent to exterminate even my family Su Hu thought to himself as anger rise up from him.
It is thanks to Heaven that Su Hu takes precautions and already hid Daji into one of the hidden rooms while the hidden guards of Su family went and try to delay the advance of Chong Houhu.
The secret guards all leapt for the shadows and form a line in front of Su Hu.
‘Please go Patriarch’ the hidden guards said as they began engaging in battle with Chong Houhu.
And one of the guards rushed forward in front, his speed was like the wind but easily stop in his track by Houhu.
He holds the man neck using his hand brute strength.
The man is feeling a short of breath, he could not speak neither could he moved. His body is attack by spiritual pressure of Union Nature cultivator.
How could he have any chance?
‘Trash! You sent me trash Su Hu. Running! What cowardly behavior from the Su clan.’ Chong Houhu said as one of his strike just decapitate done of his guard.
‘We will try to hold him off. Just go Patriarch!’ another guard yelled as the guard keep battling and trying to endure the spiritual pressure of Chong Houhu.
The elite guards of Chong Houhu on the other hand went to the back to search for other survivors. They had strict orders to kill everyone on this Hill.
And they don’t have to be worried about their leader since their leader is an expert.
On the back, they meet Su Feng and Quanzhong who was about to help their father in battle.
Su Hu then arrives at the back, when he sees the elite guards went another way.
Su Quanzhong and Su Feng and Su Hu made their stand against the squad of Chong Houhu after making sure Daji is hidden in a safe place.
‘Attack!’ One of the 11 people yelled. And they quickly ride their horse to the three people; their sword is ready to reap lives.
‘Father let me give them a taste of my abilities.’ Quanzhong said to Su Hu and he leapt and move with unbelievable speed.
Then Su Quanzhong arrived at the squad, while one of the squad look in open eyes of shock of such terrifying speed, and with one strike of fury, Quanzhong cleave one of the 11 people to half.
Su Feng also joins taking the right side while Su Quanzhong takes the left side.
Su Feng aimed at one beside his older brother, piercing the man throat. But then an evil laugh resound in the back of the house.
‘Chong Houhu is here!’ he yelled, his hand is holding one of the heads of Su Hu secret guard.
Then Houhu throws the head to the side.
‘Li Feng!’ Su Hu said as he recognized the head.
‘Chong Houhu! You will pay for this!’ Su Hu yelled,aner and fury that could not be hidden.
Chong Houhu on the other hand just laughed.
‘Weaklings and trash all of them.’ His sword is red with the blood of Su house guard .

‘ARGHHH!’ Su Hu in rage rushed to Chong Houhu and his strike was fast and precise but with one move, Chong Houhu deflect the attack effortlessly, while at the same time inflicting a spirit attack to Su Hu, melded with his sword strike injuring Su Hu both physically and mentally.
‘Su Hu! Old friend! Your skill has rusted! Why offend the Prince if you have no abilities! HAHAHAHA’ Chong Houhu laughed again.
‘I’m no friend of yours, Houhu!’
Su Hu is hurt and maintaining a considerable distance with Choung Houhu. Houhu just look calmly at Su Hu like he is playing a game.
Then he ask
‘Should I end this, old friend?’ Houhu ask Su Hu
Then suddenly Chong Houhu dash to Su Hu and try to use his sword to decapitate Su Hu head.
But Su Hu was prepared for this sneak attack and quickly he dodge the attack and takes some distance away again, his eye is glaring.
His neck then shows some sight laceration, as traces of blood appear. Almost….Su Hu mused.
He nearly lost his life in a moment of carelessness. Even though he has expended all his attention to the battle he is still in precarious position.
Chong Houhu is a different level than him and Chong Houhu spirit pressure is more domineering than even him, almost tyrannical.
‘The Prince dog. Who would have thought a cultivator like you would rather become a dog to the Prince. Heaven will punish you one day. Di Xin will bring Shang kingdom to ruins. Hear my words’ Su Hu said spitting blood to the ground.
Using such speed and exerting his spirit pressure to the utmost to dodge the attack create a disturbance in his spirit energy.
Su Hu may be weaker than Chong Houhu but he will not let that deter him.
Not to mention spiritual energy is not the only determinant in a battle. Battle techniques, armour and weapons and, if one have miracle pill even a man of one rank below can win people of many level atop him.
It is unfortunate he is not at his main house. If he is, then he surely has some weapons to deal with Chong Houhu.
He is fairly certain Chong Houhu will exterminate his family. And it must be done secretly.
Considering the damage done to his house, Su Hu is sure the Prince will cover up the story of his death as some random bandit attacks or that Su Hu is caught up with some territory struggle with some other nobles.
At this thought Su Hu is determine. He will rather die stopping Chong Houhu instead of letting Chong Houhu hunt his sons and daughter.
Then a sword appears in Su Hu hand, it looks like a normal sword but there is power radiating from it.
But it must be said compared to Yu Wang and his son sword his sword is not on par. Bad luck! Bad luck he mused.
In his household there are many other weapons stronger than him but he did not bring it. Minister Jiang wisdom is unfathomable.
Su Hu can only blame his lack of foresight.
Minister Jiang has warned him repeatedly that the Prince will send people to harm him and ask him to take precaution but he treated Minister Jiang advice as unnecessary worries.
In the end he had doom himself. Gripping his sword he made his last stand.
‘I will not let you terrorize my house and harm my family. Do not force me. You may be stronger than me but don’t underestimate a desperate man trying to protect his family.’ SU Hu said, his hand is hard gripping the sword, there is still some traces of blood on his lips.
‘Leave, Chong Houhu. Leave and I will regard as nothing happen here today. There is still room for negotiation.’
‘Negotiation? Time for negotiation is over. The Prince has given his order. Just give me your life and this will end easier.’
And suddenly Chong Houhu moves and the battle begins.
Chong Houhu began attacking with a strike, fast and precise while Su Hu employed a dodging maneuver.
He is laughing maniacally, smiling and leering, even when he is wounded he is smiling like a crazy person.
On the other hand, Su Hu is proficient in some lightness skills and he dodges most of ftal attacks of Houhu.
But Chong Houhu release the sword strike melded with his spirit energy how could Su Hu dodge safely.
His spiritual sense shake to the core and his head becomes dizzy, his hand becomes weak and nearly his head got cut off if not for Su Hu strong will and determination.
On the other side of the house Quanzhong is killing the squad, leaving only about 6 people from Chong Houhu death squad.
The 6 people look at each other clearly not expecting Su Quanzhong to be so domineering in battle, with his flaming sword.
All around him was charred corpse. He is standing among the fire like an avenging gods.
Su Feng also helps.
Su Feng acts as a distraction while Su Quanzhong finishes the job. The 6 try to make a formation but it is easily destroy by the domineering strength of Su Quanzhong.
One by one they fall.
Then with one last stab to the final man of the squad, Su Feng crumbles to the ground because of exhaustion.
Su Quanzhong leap to his younger brother side, expression of worries and anxiety can clearly be seen.
‘Are you alright Feng er? Here take this’ and Su Quanzhong produce a pill.
‘The Energy Returning pill will help your recover your spirit energy.’
Hearing this Su Feng took it and quickly swallows it. Quickly energy returns to him and his sprit power refills itself.
Seeing his brother begin regaining colors on his face, Quanzhong is relieved. Then he makes a decision.
‘Go and bring Daji far away from here.’ Quanzhong said to Su Feng.
‘Brother how could I let you go alo-‘
‘Go! Protect Daji. Go’ Su Quanzhong said again looking at the hesitation in SU Feng face. Su Feng realized that his brother is certain that they could not all survive this.
Su Feng heard of this but never thought it will happen to his family. Extermination of family.
Su Feng nodded and run to the direction of Daji hideouts. Near him he could hear the battle.
The strikes has no eyes, and the house was like a ruins, pillars and wall all strewn about, crushed, tumbling down, each strikes sound like a thunder strikes the earth and then he heard the battle cry of his brother.
Su Feng cry a little knowing his brother has sacrifice himself to make sure he and Daji is safe ,and then balling his fist he begin thinking of his sister.
Quickly he went to his father bedroom and then pulls the candle on the right corner of his father bed and a passage opens. A pair of big eyes looks towards him
‘Daji!’
‘Brother!’ Daji said, trembling and tears on her eyes.
‘Come on get out. We have to leave this place.’
Daji did not say anything and quickly she grabbed her brother hand.
And then Su Feng taking his sister hand, quickly they ran from the back while the battle keep raging on.

What do you think will happen? Will SU Hu and Su Quanzhong survive? Or will they die? Will Daji be saved? Ah, who am I kidding? Daji surely will be safe, as will be our protag.
But Su Hu? Quanzhong? Live or die? That’s the question. And Yu Wang will appear in the next chapter.
