The two men can be heard screaming as they were being ripped apart by the group of undead looking people. Nakoma ran as fast as she can with Rebeccas group as some of them continue to fire as they ran at the same time. This constant run and gun tactic was holding them off for a while, but it failed. The more they shot their weapons the more they attracted other groups of the infected stumbling around the streets of Sacramento. The group did their best trying to outrun them but slowly, one by one, Rebeccas soldiers fell from the infected. Pouncing on them and tearing their flesh apart. One man fell and sacrificed his life as he pulls the pins of several grenades off his vest yelling a war cry as they tear into him opening his guts out. The explosion was huge as several of the undead flew back from the blast and dazing several others.

Rebecca looked all around trying to find somewhere safe. They were very close to the city and were at risk of attracting even more of those undead things. Until she found a large clearing of a building. It was tall and had an above and underground parking space. The building was heavily fortified and covered. The entrances were all blocked off by cars placed at the entrances and windows, denying the infected people access to the building. That safe armored building was a large mall shopping center, and it was perfect to hide from these cannibalistic people.

"There! In the mall! Go through the parking garage top level! We can sneak our way through the elevators!"

"Roger that!"

As everyone said in frantic agreement. They made a B-line through the regular parking lot as bodies that were laying on the floor, presumed to be dead, suddenly began to rise as they made so much noise passing by them. Nakoma was running of energy to run but still pushed past her limits as Ellis helped pushed her on. They ran and leaped over some of the cars that were rotting in the parking garage making it an obstacle for them and the infected. It helped tremendously as it slowed the infected down greatly. They plopped and fell hard as they crashed into the cars and struggled just a bit trying to climb over them. This gave them enough time to reach the top level of the parking garage. The windows and doorway that lead into the building on the top floor of the parking lot was also blocked off as well. Several of Rebecca's soldiers positioned themselves against the cars making a defensive position as the others tried to pry open the elevator door, but it wouldn't budge. Even Rebecca was helping them trying to pry open the door.

Nakoma and Ellis position themselves waiting for those undead to come rushing up the ramp of the lower floor levels. Their inhuman screeching and gurgling can be heard echoing in the garage. Nakoma's hands were trembling as she aimed her pistol. The other men were breathing rapidly as their bodies quivered in fear. The moment of nothingness filled as they can only hear the screams. Then they finally came in rushing as the infected halted looking at their direction. Their bloody faces dripped as they snarled and twitched exposing their teeth getting ready to charge again. Everyone froze as they were petrified with horror. The moment they charged everyone began to unload their weapons on the infected. It took several hits before they began to fall dead on the floor.

"HURRY THE FUCK UP!"

"We're trying ma'am!"

"WELL TRY FUCKING HARDER!"

As Rebecca yelled at them to pull the door apart harder. Nakoma was trying her best to shoot them, but they don't seem to want to stay down after taking lethal hits that should critically wound people. One infected got passed and creepily crawled on top of the cars and jumped onto a soldier and bit into his neck.

"AHHHHH!!! GET THIS FUCKING THING OFF ME!!! HELP ME, FUCK, OH MY GOD!!!

Nakoma saw the man being eating by this rotting corpse. Its flesh grey and eyes sunken red as it bleeds profusely from its eyes, almost to a thin skeleton. She quickly rushes to him and places the gun against its temple and unloaded a round into its head. The infected person made a weird screech as it fell off the man and twitch as its body convulses and withered all around before finally plopping dead. She quickly went to the man and saw as he was covering the wound as blood was gushing out. He pointed at the pouch on his vest telling her to wrap his wound. She frantically agreed and put as much pressure trying to stop the bleeding. She put as much gauze as she can into the wound to clog the bleeding and tightly wrapped it to keep it in place. It kind of worked but the blood was ever so slowly bleeding through the wrap.

She dragged the wounded man by the back of his vest and placed him close to the elevator door. The door was slightly opening until finally it snapped wide open revealing the long cable that led down to the bottom floor entrance. One man rushed solo down as he grabbed the cable wire and ascended down on top of the elevator. He kicks down the emergency hatch and looks down to inspect.

"All clear! None inside! Door is open, send everyone down now!!!"

Rebecca nodded and ordered everyone to quickly rush down the cable. One by one they quickly ascended down. The injured man was weak and grey from the blood loss but manages to slowly ascend down the cable wire. Rebecca yelled at everyone to pull molotovs out. They tossed them quickly one by one as they gave covering fire to get them time to light the cloth at the end. They all tossed their molotovs making a fiery wall blocking the elevator entrance. The infected began to screech in pain as they ran all over the direction flaying their arms around as their bodies were engulfed in the flames. It was their chance, and they all ran towards the cable and quickly ascended down. Ellis and Nakoma were the last ones to slide down as they quickly went through the hatch and ran out the elevator door. They both collapsed onto the floor breathing very heavily from how exhausted they were.

Rebeccas soldiers quickly closed the elevator door and try to find anything to block the elevator from benches to tables that were nearby as they were close to a food court. Everyone finally barricaded the elevator door and all collapsed from exhaustion. Choking from their skyrocketing fear. Some even puked from all the nerves they were experiencing. Rebecca was trying to calm herself down as she was hyperventilating, trying to catch her breath. She looks over and her eyes widen to see the injured man with the bandage around his neck as his whole shirt was covered in blood from the wound that was bleeding through. She quickly speedwalks towards him as his face was grey from the amount of blood loss. He was breathing heavy and slightly wheezing.

"Hello Ma'am... I... Just need... to catch... my breath... is all... bastard... knocked... the wind out... is all-"

Before he could even finish his sentence, she unloads a bullet right in his head as he takes his last breath. His eyes open staring down at the floor. Nakoma looked in horror and snapped at her.

"What the hell! Why would even you do that! Why would you even-"

"IF YOU SEE ANYONE BEING BIT BY ONE OF THOSE FUCKING THINGS OUTSIDE, YOU PUT A BULLET IN THEIR GODDAMN HEAD!!! DON'T FUCKING BRING THEM INSIDE WITH US OR YOU'LL KILL US ALL YOU STUPID BITCH!!! YOU WANT TO BE TURNED INTO ONE OF THOSE THINGS!? THEN DON'T SAVE ANYONE WHO IS BIT, GOT IT!!!"

Nakoma looked in horror as she looked out toward the entrance way of the mall as she can see and hear them all screaming around banging on the cars and door trying to get inside.
