> Quote:Mal's Book of Origins VOL 0 Chapter 1 : Children of Fate (Unpublished)
>
> The world was forever changed by the Xanax/god war. The ashes of this conflict gave life to what our world is now. The Most successful of the intelligent races has been without question the Carnax. The Carnax civilization resembled the Xanax in a almost identical way.
>
> Three individuals would rule over a settlement and were from three different 'classes' Mages, Warriors, and Citizen Soldiers. each had a set of edicts or laws that they fallowed to insure no one group was in control or gained enough power to control the other groups.
>
> Mages took on the role of research and development improving the lifestyle and standard of living for the other members of society. Every class had to live with the other casts for at least 10 years, mages would learn the hardships of Citizen Soldiers, and the devotion honor and sacrifice of warriors. Mages were the best magic casters and usually the wisest group acting as healers, teachers, historians, and other civil service occupations.
>
> Warriors in peace time fight monsters and act as equalizers to local populations, if a wolf pack grew to large the Carnax warriors would cull the local population to insure they did not destroy the ecosystem. In war they fight on the front lines and act as guards, mercenaries, law enforcement, or any other form of protection for Mages and Citizen Soldiers.
>
> Citizen soldiers are the loosely defined members of society that had no combat potential or had been crippled in their duties. Acting as Farmers, Merchants, Blacksmiths, Tanners, Cooks, Lumberjacks, Miners, Local Militia, and many more occupations. While Mages and Warriors work to protect and improve the living of the Citizen soldiers the citizen soldiers seek to help the other groups with commerce food and materials to allow the nation to flourish.
>
> Laws were almost non existent, The mages concluded that a nation with many laws would be bogged down and slowly drown under the weight of rules and regulations. Three Laws were set in place for each group.
>
> Mages:
>
> 1. Do not Kill another Carnax or upset the balance of Life irreparably.
>
> 2. Seek power and knowledge and share its majesty with Fellow Carnax.
>
> 3. Do not Undermine, Disregard, or Ignore your fellow Casts Warnings and Concerns.
>
> Warriors:
>
> 1. Do not kill another Carnax or Balance life to inflexibility.
>
> 2. Seek to Protect and guard your fellow Carnax from internal or external threats.
>
> 3. Do not Undermine Disregard or Ignore your Fellow Casts Warnings and Concerns.

> Citizen Soldiers:
>
> 1. Do not kill another Carnax or Ignore the Fragility and Flexibility of Life.
>
> 2. Seek to assist your fellow casts and to warn of corruption and deceit.
>
> 3. Do not Undermine Disregard or Ignore your Fellow Casts Warnings and Concerns.
>
> The Carnax did not think and act like other races, Carefully watching the actions they made to insure nothing would disrupt the world around them. Greed, Lust, sloth, and Gluttony did not affect the Carnax. Their actions always strived to achieve the perfect balance. Creating harmony and peace, They Envied their predecessors after discovering the ruins of the Xanax people.
>
> Carnax did not recognize the 'gods' as benevolent beings and classified them as greater demons. Their anger knew no limit as they aggressively refused the gods assistance. Pride in their accomplishments made them strive for even greater achievements.
>
> The Carnax Empire fell to the weight of the Demon war causing them to destroy their homes, research, and marvels. Few locations still stand and are guarded by strong Mana Worms and Golems. The Carnax people may be scattered but in times of desperate need the Carnax once again reform into a small private army to face any threat that might come.
>
> The nomadic Carnax have varying strength, powerful T8 casters to Rank 9-10 warriors. Their craftsmen are of the finest quality and highly coveted, if you can find one willing to trade. Like the fall of the Xanax, The Carnax's downfall created a Prime Evil, The Demon Lord.
>
> Carnax resemble humans but have a longer and unique life cycle. The Carnax are considered youths until their 500th winter, then they undergo a form of mutation. Entering a slumber for a year emerging as a teenager with an ability. Then after another 500 winters the carnax will mutate again. emerging as an actual adult with a skill. Each carnax has an ability and skill.
>
> Some grow to be gaints, while other remain small. Some are fragile while others are strong. In this way the casts system has served the Carnax people well. Carnax were the most successful recreation of the Xanax people. The Carnax controlled the entire continent and even the floating islands. With the power of their military only two beings could confront the carnax, the gods.
>
> Carnax after 2,000 winters would place themselves in a facility to slumber until they were needed again. The facility was discovered but the powerful guardians dissuaded any from approaching. Mana worms and golems, but the most terrifying of the facilities defenses is the bridge keeper.
>
> The Primal Carnax, Unlike other races Carnax can absorb each other to attain abilities skills and spells from their own race. The transfer needed to be voluntary and was solemnly done. Five Primal Carnax exist each defending a Xanax structure, This bridge keeper wounded the god of war for simply gazing at the facility, ever since the god of war has worn his scar with pride having faced a worthy opponent.
>
> The way stones created by the Carnax are used to this day, none have been able to recreate them but their utility has been seen as a blessing, we have discovered way stones everywhere and it is almost expected that the carnax expanded further than we had originally thought.
>
> Carnaxians have one of the six growth rates of the Xanax. STR DEX AGI WIS INT and SOL. SOL is a unique stat found in Xanax and Carnax. We still don't know what SOL is but the carnax do and have guarded this secret with their own lives, only carnax with an ability to kill themselves at will are given the knowledge.
>
> After conducting research on the Carnax and Xanax It is safe to say that the these two races are so similar that only the appearance and growth rates differ.
>
> The Carnax people have not brought back their slumbering brothers. If the carnax ever did bring the power of their entire race, nothing could stop them from retaking their lands, The actual casualties from the Demon War are unknown. Our best estimation is that 94% of their people died during the war.

>
> The slumbering members of their society numbered in the millions. One day the Carnax will return, but when they do we must ask ourselves, Why have they come back? Revenge? Conquest? A Holy War against the gods? or an evil that even the mighty carnax feared?
>
> The name Car'nax is loosely translated into Child of Fate, while Xan'ax is translated as Guardians of Fate, while Nax'an The originator, is translated as Mother of Fates.
The mana pool shimmered with the holy light, I was captivated by its majesty. I was currently thinking about how I could use this new ability, "Dark Metamorphosis". The ability was powerful, but I did not have the mana to sustain it for long, a day and a half at most. Assuming I didn't spend my mana on other spells.
The elfs ate the fruits and vegetables I had gathered for them, Elves... I felt a faint memory but it was warped and fractured. I internally sighed phantom had so easily controlled my inside of my mind. The elven child was still sleeping, her face twisted and turned, a nightmare.
I faintly remembered a nightmare I had as a child. Monsters chasing me over and over never letting me rest or even have a moment to think. I felt sympathy, but it quickly turned into me wanting to smash the child's head in. I imagined myself smiling I fought the idea, trying to understand what was happening. Why did I feel, Need to kill.
Fighting the thought and calming myself down I remembered all of the deaths I had caused and my mind cleared slightly. 'Death brings peace and peace brings strife, strife returns to death and back to peace.' sam always had something to say. Turning back to the elfs I no longer felt the need or want to kill them.
My wraiths stayed far away from the white tree, its holy aura would destroy them. The older elf finished feeding her sleeping companion. The sun was now starting to set aver the mountains to the west. Back to the east the red forest was burning. I saw several wyverns still fighting. I even noticed my C.P. slowly regenerating.
Some of my liches must of died. Finding myself again I stood and returned to the elves. I did not know if my voice would be masked by the runes like my aperance but I had the assumption that this armor was of pre-Carnax origin. For all I knew it could be a unique set of armor.
"I don't wish to rush but time is short." My voice sounded hallow but otherwise normal. The elf bowed her head "Thank you, Karvash olanar." she bowed and created a barrier around the small child carrying her. she handed me my cloak and started to walk to the city. I could faintly see its outline an old city made from a magic metal that grows slowly.
I fallowed Karvash, Four elves guarded the front gate with other guardians. Bears, Elk, Wisps, living trees and a few frost sabers. The Wisps could feel the soul of any being. Many were evil tricksters while others kind spirits that remained.
One of the elves dropped her staff and ran forward her silver hair trailed behind her as 19 mana worms fallowed her. She tackled Karvash with a powerful embrace, sobbing. I noticed several corpses decomposing away from the main gate, trees absorbing then destroying the red magic inside of them. Orcs and goblins had assaulted this place some time ago.
The elves spoke in their tong faster than I could understand. Elves had a tendency to speak quickly. Several of the mana worm circled around me hissing. I planted my sword into the ground and waited. Several hours passed until an old elf came forward. High elves have 5 ranks among their magi; white for Mage, green for Magna, Yellow for Magni, Mixed for Magnus and Blue for Magi.
This mage, moved forward in a blue gown a T10 caster on her back was a black blade. The Magni among elves need to find a black blade to become a magus, then when the black blade grows into a sentient weapon the Magnus becomes a Magi. Black blades are inherently rare and no one really knows who or what made them.
She moved gracefully with 5 Magnus fallowing her. Each could be considered T7-9 casters. The magi's eyes lingered on the Karvash and her slumbering friend, but when her eyes found me she stopped moving. Time moved slowly in that moment. She had golden hair with glowing blue eyes. Her staff was heavy, made entirely out of the same substance the white wall was made of.
I saw her eyes flicker as she cast 4 spells at once, so quickly that I could not copy the spells but I could see them; -Detect- T8 -Dispel- T9 -Disrupt- T9 and -Motive- T10. Detect would allow her to see my status, being unable to see my status she assumed I was using a spell to conceal myself, Dispel and Disrupt had been an attempt to remove any spell, then having failed resorted to casting Motive a spell that allows you to feel the individuals motive or desire.
I just wanted to return the two elves to their home and know the location of this settlement so I could avoid them in the future. Her eyes lightened but I could see her confusion. I wanted to avoid them but I was willing to help their people. I was either an Exile or not elven.
She bowed to me making a hand sigh for Friend, and I replied with truth. She then raised her hand to the sky with an open pam while I closed my fist and touched the ground. It was an old ceremony and tradition among the elves, my mother did teach me the proper edict for elves.
She offered me sanctuary while I respectfully declined. nodding her head she bowed, I stood and bowed as well after a moment we both stood and turned. It was simple elves usually didn't speak unless it was important. If you ever had the privilege of visiting a high elf settlement you might think that high elves were mute.
I walked away from the settlement climbing the hill to reach the white tree. When I turned to look at the red forest a large force of goblins and orcs returning to the forest to defend the seethe tree. My undead army would need my help, I stole one more glance at the elven settlement, Then I sprinted down the hill back to the red forest...
