Myth of a Pained Mortal
Introduction: A crushed Will

Introduction: A crushed Will

The wind howled upon the dwellers on its path. A curtain of clouds covers the sky, painted shadowy grey. Scattered drops of water fall upon the earth, pitying the miserable souls below.

“Anna.” A voice filled with remorse lamented.

Blood teeming down his open gashes, faint gasps dreadfully seceding the nearby poison form whatever air he could muster.

The battlefield, the once-proud land of Ilva, boasting tales of its beauty across the realm of Elsda, now a devastating wasteland of bloody corpses, unfulfilled lives and blemished air, spreading as far as the eye could see. Yet amongst its ravaged ground, stood a living body brought to its knees, griping the corpse of a woman as if it were the one thing it cherished in life.

There, his infuriated eyes dyed scarlet from the harmful gas, gradually destroying his lungs, stared in agony before the being, embodying his concept of life itself, laid motionless before him.

Her body wrapped in blood all over, her eyes laid to rest whereas even death shan’t stop the one still clinging to her from loving the person she was. However, regardless of the bloodstained hole beside her waist, her last smile still stood her ground before all the twisted pain, now inexistent.

Shattered cries filled the air as the apprehension that she would never again shine upon him, laid evident. She, whom the love he felt towards knew no ends. She, whom he had known for only a few years, years that felt unending upon the joy of sharing them with her. She… who taught him how to live.

From the dreary sky above, a barrage of clouds split open. Revealing the shape of a mammoth rock. A descending mountain, directing its peak towards the land beyond, clad in dark drained colourless grey as if it were made out of iron. The iron mountain’s weight made itself ascend towards the battlefield. With the pained man at the bottom of its trajectory.

The man perceiving the incoming warhead released the still body from his embracement. Gradually, he brought himself standing on his feet, enclosed in military footwear. Raising his head towards the distant sky, tears of the heavens raining down upon him, the man spread his arms towards the view.

The iron mountain, discarding all air in its way, drew near, nonetheless, the man does not flee, instead, answers the impact to come with shut eyes.

"I bid you farewell, Anna." The man murmured.

Within seconds the battlefield found its land wrapped in hell whereas flames let loose on its surface. The detonating burst wiped off all signs of war within the field. In its place laid a bottomless crater, enveloping the once-proud land of Ilva in endless darkness within. But within the darkness, within the late flames, laid yet another flame, apparently unaffected by the falling tears of the sky, making its way through the endless heavens above. Dark blue flames, that hurriedly became thicker and bigger, setting the sky ablaze as if it were a sea, thus rendering the view as a heavenly thalassic.

Accompanied by hollow spherical orbs, befouled in azure blazing, a fiery creature enfolded in an armour of marine flames and fluttering orbs encircling its figure, burst forth from the crater. Its skin painted pale, a military uniform worn from foot to neck, performing a battalion of medallions on the right shoulder. Its eyes, fiery and scorching with a pupil overwhelmed by darkness at its core, a  ruthless pupil, embodying the shape of wildness itself, surrounded by azure waves. And hence, revealing the image of the once a pained mortal.

"Avenge you, I shall." The creature proclaimed. His words crowded in hate and stillness.

Taking in a great voluminous momentum, the being shot itself towards the horizon, leaving the ground below, ruptured, shattered and overwhelmed by flames. His image, disappearing off to the unending skies above.
