Chapter 16: Queen of pain

Chapter 16: Queen of pain

Lilithia, with shoulders back and relaxed, projecting confidence and poise, walks in strides. Each step is deliberate and measured, with a smooth heel-to-toe motion. There’s a subtle sway in her hips, adding elegance and femininity to her walk.

Her features were flawlessly sculpted, with high cheekbones that lent an air of aristocratic elegance. Her eyes, held a hypnotic gaze that seemed to pierce through one's soul, betraying hints of cunning and cruelty beneath their enchanting facade. Long lashes framed those piercing orbs, adding a deceptive softness to her visage.

Her movement controlled and balanced, there's a noticeable frown on her brows and an almost dead look in her eyes.

“Did you gather all the corpses?” she inquires of one of her mercenary subordinates.

"Yes, honored commander!" he exclaimed, his face flushed with a crimson hue, clearly enthralled by her captivating beauty and graceful demeanor.

Lilithia noticed his lingering gaze and raised an eyebrow in a silent warning. With a swift motion, she seized her whip and delivered a series of lashes, her face contorted with rage.

"Throw one more glance my way," she hissed through clenched teeth, her eyes ablaze with fury, "and your life will end before you can blink!"

"A new decree!" Lilithia's voice rang out, commanding attention. "Henceforth, anyone who dares to address me must lower their head. Make eye contact, and you seal your fate as a dead slave!" She paused, her breaths ragged with intensity, before continuing, "Listen well! A slave does not deserve the privilege of meeting my gaze."

Oddly, not a single one of the mercenaries dared to rebel against her decree, despite its oppressive nature. They remained firmly under her enchanting sway, unable to resist her allure.

"Hurry up! Deliver the instructions!" Lilithia commanded sharply.

One of the mercenaries hurried forward, bowing deeply before her. "Honored commander," he began respectfully, "there are no longer any Eldorian forces in the forest. We have successfully gathered all the corpses as instructed."

"Strange," Lilithia mused aloud, a hint of suspicion in her voice. "Could they be laying a trap for us? This lack of resistance is unsettlingly smooth," she pondered, her mind already calculating the potential dangers lurking beneath the surface of their apparent victory.

"Still, I can't believe that fool Mark dared to challenge Aldeen," Lilithia thought to herself with a derisive snort. "Hmph! I suppose he got what was coming to him," she concluded, a hint of satisfaction tainting her thoughts.

As Lilithia reached for her instructions, a sudden jolt coursed through her, akin to a lightning strike. Rage surged within her once more, her face contorting with fury. Without hesitation, she lashed out with her whip at three mercenaries whose backs were turned to her, their forms slashed in a frenzy of her wrath.

"I'm going to tear you to shreds, play with your guts, and rip your heart open!" Lilithia's eyes widened in a menacing glare as she spoke, sending shivers of fear coursing through the mercenaries. They couldn't comprehend why she would suddenly lash out at them in such a brutal manner.

"Who did this?! I was certain it wasn't Aldeen!" Lilithia exclaimed, her face contorted with stress. Biting her nails nervously, she muttered, "Who killed my beloved, Sankara?"

"Damn it! Now Renauld and Ongloid will seek retribution! Damn it all!" She cursed, the weight of impending punishment settling heavily upon her shoulders.

“Fine… I see, I have two kill two important figures in Eldoria as a sacrifice now.” She thought.

“The preparations are over, honored commander!” one of the mercenaries said.

Lilithia stood tall, her dark magic coursing through her veins as she cast her spell upon the lifeless corpses. With a flick of her wrist, they stirred, rising from death's grip to become her obedient minions.

Now under Lilithia's command were 400 soldiers, a formidable force where 300 of them were once lifeless corpses. Dividing them in half, she dispatched one group towards the front lines of the Eldorian wall, while retaining the other half, including a hundred living mercenaries, to accompany her.

The zombies surged forward towards the heavily guarded wall, their tattered clothes and bloodstains catching the attention of an astonished Eldorian soldier.

"W-what in the world is this?!" he exclaimed in disbelief, observing the Eldorian soldiers advancing towards them.

"Open the door!" he commanded urgently, his heart pounding with the hope of aiding survivors.

Responding swiftly, the soldiers began pulling ropes and pushing levers, activating mechanisms to open the massive wall protecting Eldoria. With a groan and a rumble, the enigmatic 80-foot mystical and ancient wall slowly parted.

Three guards descended to greet the approaching ex-Eldorian soldiers, unaware from their vantage point atop the high walls that they were facing a horde of zombies.

With a relieved smile, one of the guards approached the approaching ex-Eldorian soldiers. "I'm glad you made it back alive," he began, his voice faltering slightly. "We desperately need your service. We were truly frightened to hear that most of the soldiers in the forest were..." His words were cut short as one of the zombies suddenly lunged forward, driving a dagger into his stomach.

The other guards watched in horror as the fallen soldier's body hit the ground, their blood running cold as they noticed the telltale signs of decay and the swarm of flies surrounding the already rotting flesh.

"Agghhh?!" The guards screamed in disbelief, their minds unable to comprehend the horror unfolding before them. Collapsing to the ground in fear, they were defenseless as the horde of zombies descended upon them, tearing them apart with savage brutality.

Chaos and mayhem erupted as the zombies ran rampant, destroying everything in their path. Nearby, a small camp of soldiers heard the commotion and rushed towards the noise.

"W-what in the world is going on?!" one of the soldiers exclaimed as he witnessed a zombie pulling a sword from a dead guard's body. "What are you doing?! Have you no shame?!" he shouted in horror and disbelief.

“R-Ruuun…”barely able to talk said one of the guards before giving his last breath.

Without warning, a zombie raised its palm and cast a fiery projectile towards the soldier. Luckily, it missed him, prompting the soldier to flee as he sounded the alarm.

The echoing wail of the alarm spread throughout Eldoria, jolting people from their routines. Some abandoned their meals in restaurants, while others fled their offices in panic. Across the streets, citizens rushed towards bunkers near the city hall, seeking shelter from the impending onslaught of the zombie horde.

The bunkers were already packed with people seeking refuge from the forest. Cries of panic swept through the crowd like a chilling wind, leaving no one untouched.

"What's happening?!"

"Let us in!"

"Mommy, mommy, I'm scared," a child whimpered to his mother.

"Where are the authorities? Where are the soldiers?!" the desperate voices of the people echoed through the halls.

Those unfortunate souls near the wall had no luxury of escape as the zombies descended without mercy. Their onslaught spared neither humans nor animals, attacking cats and beloved pets alike. Fire pillars erupted, engulfing restaurants in flames. Among them, a particular eatery bore a welcoming panel that once boasted "Welcome to Eldoria" alongside a heart symbol. Now, that heart lay broken, split in two by the violence of the attack, a tragic sight to behold amidst the chaos.

In the lab, Michaela's concentration was interrupted by the blaring alarm. A furrow of concern creased her brow. "Could this be a mistake? What could have breached the impervious spells guarding the wall?"

Taking a deep breath, she resolved to entrust the situation to Alistar, Aldeen, and Jung. "They'll figure it out," she reassured herself. "But just in case, I must hide these blueprints. If the advisors decide to visit the lab, I can't risk them falling into the wrong hands."

Her mind made up, Michaela quickly cast a protective spell on the blood gate, ensuring that only Aldeen would have access to the C-technology sand fuel machine. With her preparations complete, she set about securing the lab before venturing out to face the unfolding crisis.

In this world, the functioning of Chrono-technology relies on a unique fuel source: special minerals imbued with a trace of consciousness. Within the confines of the Eldorian Lab, a remarkable invention known as the ChronoEssence-Forge machine is capable of creating this essential mineral sand. This sand serves as the lifeblood for vehicles, machinery, and weaponry across the land.

Through a series of intricate processes, the ChronoEssence-Forge machine induces a slumber upon the consciousness within these minerals, allowing their energy to be harnessed without resistance. However, this practice raises ethical concerns among many inhabitants of this world. The capital city of Faurecia, in particular, staunchly prohibits the creation of such machines, deeming them morally questionable.

Despite the opposition, other nations strive to develop similar technology. Following intense negotiations, Faurecia has reluctantly granted Eldoria permission to possess the ChronoEssence-Forge. However, this privilege comes with strict conditions, including the deployment of supervisors from Faurecia and a mandate forbidding Eldoria from weaponizing the technology.Haut du formulaire

Alistar near the boulder, frustration etched into his features, after hearing the alarm. "Damn,” he muttered to himself. "I didn't sense any living human presence passing through the inner forest. They must have employed alternative methods to breach our defenses. Damn it! I was too careless. How could I forget about the skeleton attacks?"

“Please Scion, buy me sometime.” He thought to himself.

Meanwhile, Jung, running through the forest in a fury, halted abruptly at the sound of the alarm. "What's going on?!" he exclaimed.

"They breached the wall? But how did they manage to enter?" Jung wondered aloud. "I thought... Alistar would handle it?"

"Damn it all!" Jung cursed, his frustration boiling over. "I shouldn't have left my post. I swore not to be defeated. Those scheming ministers will be laughing at our failures now. Damn!" His voice echoed through the forest in a frustrated scream.

Lilithia stood with intense focus, her hands raised in a commanding gesture as if manipulating the zombies from a distance. Strands of her hair stood on end, a visible sign of the immense power she wielded. Even the mercenaries surrounding her couldn't grasp the intricacies of her abilities.

"Wow, she's a force to be reckoned with!" some murmured in awe.

*eee-ooo-eee-ooo*

*eee-ooo-eee-ooo*

The loud, shrill, piercing, blaring sound of the alarm pierced through the air.

"M-mission accomplished! Whoa!" others exclaimed, caught up in the moment of victory.

"Yay, they breached the wall!" they cheered.

Lilithia, annoyed by their noisy chants, cast a sharp glance in their direction. Instantly, like obedient children, they fell silent and retreated to their positions, cowed by her gaze.

"I won't let you through!" exclaimed one of the mercenaries defiantly, before embracing Jung tightly and triggering an explosion.

BOOM

The mercenaries stood in anticipation, awaiting the dissipation of the smoke.

"What's their game? He sacrificed himself just to get to me," Jung mused, a concerned eyebrow raised.

As the smoke cleared, the mercenaries' eyes widened in disbelief. "Not a scratch?!" they exclaimed in astonishment.

Without hesitation, the mercenaries unleashed a barrage of spells towards Jung. Bullets made of water, flames, and mercenaries wielding swords all hurtled toward him like homing missiles. Yet Jung remained rooted in place, making no attempt to evade or flee.

BOOM

Another deafening explosion echoed through the air.

In utter disbelief, the mercenaries gaped in awe as they realized Jung's body was encased in metal.

"Are you invincible?!" they shouted in disbelief.

"It freaking hurts! Damn it!" Jung grunted in pain. With swift ferocity, he seized the head of one mercenary and shoved it into the dirt. Then, he sprinted towards the next, roaring in his face before delivering a devastating punch that obliterated the mercenary's skull. The force of the impact sent the mercenary flying like a bowling ball, knocking down all the mercenaries in his path until he reached Lilithia.

"What is it this time?!" Lilithia exclaimed, taken aback by the sudden chaos.

"Just an Eldorian soldier, Honored Commander!" one of her minions reported with a respectful bow. "We will take care of it immediately."

"Then hurry up!" she replied sharply, her tone commanding and urgent.

"One experienced mercenary," remarked, "His affinity is metal. Just stick to long-range attacks and keep your distance! We can bring him down."

"Tch!" Jung snarled in frustration, realizing that their strategy would indeed pose a challenge for him to overcome.

As expected, with fluid precision, the mercenaries began hurling long-range spells at him. Jung wasted no time and sprinted towards them, but whenever he reached one, they would simply flee, evading his grasp.

"Fire attacks hurt the most. I can shield my exterior with metal, but the heat still gets through," Jung thought urgently. "I need to act fast. There's still the matter of that white-caped man I have to handle."

Sensing Jung's vulnerability to fire attacks from his expressions, the experienced mercenary swiftly issued his command. "Everyone, focus on long-range fire spells!"

Jung gritted his teeth in frustration upon hearing the command. "Tch!" he snarled, but ultimately complied, resigning himself to the impending onslaught.

"Fine..." he muttered grimly, remaining steadfast in his position as the mercenaries prepared to unleash their fiery assaults.

BOOM

Jung, with blood trickling from his nose, chuckled defiantly. "Small flies like you should know their place! Where is the white-caped man?! Show yourself!"

Though slightly intimidated by Jung's boldness, the mercenaries pressed on with their attacks, seeing how effective their spells were against him.

With determination burning in his eyes, Jung swiftly retrieved iron bolts from his belt. Calling upon his metal powers, he transformed his fingers into metal and launched the bolts like piercing bullets. The projectiles rained down upon the mercenaries in a relentless barrage, shattering their formation and sending them scrambling.

Spotting one mercenary frozen in place with fear, Jung seized him and began to rotate him like a whip, using the unfortunate soul as a weapon against his comrades. With incredible force, he flung the mercenary with such velocity that he landed right at the feet of Lilithia.

Impatient, Lilithia couldn't stand idly by while the commotion unfolded. With fluid and seamless movements, she darted between branches and leaped from tree to tree with remarkable speed and finesse. Her agility was akin to that of a spider traversing its silk threads, effortlessly navigating the dense foliage.

As she moved through the forest, her eerie presence was accentuated by the sight of her torn black wings, billowing behind her like tattered shadows.

"Honored commander! I'm terribly sorry. We will deal with this immediately," one of the mercenaries said, offering an apology.

"Shut up!" Lilithia replied sharply, her tone cutting through the air with authority and impatience.

The experienced mercenary stepped forward, addressing Lilithia directly. "Honored commander, I believe this person is one of the commanders. He has mastered the metal element and can even morph his body into metal. His weakness lies in long-range attacks, especially fiery ones!"

"So what?!" Jung retorted, his tone defiant. "Who are you to speak of weaknesses?" he challenged.

Lilithia, “Ha ha ha ha, I m lilithia one of the commanders of the forces that shall rule Eldoria! I was hoping to kill one of the commanders.” She said with a wicked smile.

Lilithia's laughter resonated through the forest, a sinister melody that seemed to freeze the very air around them. "Ha ha ha ha, I am Lilithia, one of the commanders of the forces destined to rule Eldoria! And you?" she demanded, her voice laced with malice.

"I'm Jung, Head Chief of the Scouts," he replied, his gaze unyielding as it met Lilithia's.

"Also... Who gave you permission to gaze at me?" Lilithia's hand moved as if to cast a spell, but nothing visibly manifested except for a small scratch appearing on Jung's face.

“Tch! He dodged it instinctively, not bad” she pondered.

"Hmmm... I wasn't able to see anything coming my way, but my body tells me it's something akin to a knife. She must have invisibility as a power," Jung mused to himself, his eyes glowing with energy as he focused his senses.

"You? Rule Eldoria? Ha ha ha! Must be a joke," he scoffed sarcastically, his laughter ringing out in defiance.

"Shut up! You don't look cool with laughter on your face. But you'd be cooler if you bled more!" Lilithia retorted, her voice laced with malice as she waved her hand as if manipulating something unseen.

Immediately, Jung began to evade with all his might, but soon found himself unable to move, frozen in place. "Damn it!" he cursed, frustration evident in his voice as he struggled against his invisible restraints.
