The forest was quiet while the red haired girl walked around. Her tail brushed against the foliage. The sun warmed her wet snout and happily she listened to the other critters.
At one point a rabbit jumped from behind one of the tree trunks and the little red haired girl's ears focused. Straight to the front. Her eyes lock with those of the rabbit. Three breaths pass as they look each other in the eyes. Both knowing what will happen next.
Then all of a sudden the red haired girl jumps up to the rabbit. The rabbit starts to run and all the girl touches is the earth. She looks up, sees the rabbit go and feels the emptiness of her stomach. She decides that the rabbit would be worth it and the race begins.
Running through the forest, making crazy turns and barely avoiding trunks in their way the hunter and hunted follow each other.
Left, right, left, left, right, straight on. That’s where the fox could speed up and get closer to the rabbit. She could almost taste the delicious meat. One more jump and she would have the rabbit. But as the red haired girl pounced towards the rabbit it went left again and the pounce hit nothing but the earth.
Feeling her tired legs the red haired girl surrendered the meal and looked up around her. She did not recognize this part of the forest. So, she started to wander around again. Sniffing the air, feeling the draft and hearing the critters. However, it was more quiet here. Not a lot of critters seemed to be out and about. The airs smelled dank and heavy, like it had rained in the past hours. The weird smells and silence of the forest made the red haired girl more alert. Nothing could get the jump on her now.

As she was walking around following the new smell of the forest, the red haired girl noticed a little rise in the ground. The trees seemed to have parted away from her path and only branches pointed up from the ground.
Soon the red haired girl was at the same hight as the top of the trees and she wondered where she was. For the first time she could see the birds in flight so close by. She considered jumping and catching one for her growling stomach but her instincts told her not to.
Suddenly the ground started to move and the red haired girl rose even further. Above the trees.
She didn’t want to be higher, a fox shouldn’t be this high, her instincts told her. she ran back to where she came from. She took some distance and looked at the moving earth.
Some of the branches shifted and fell, but some just stuck in their place. It started to turn and a birdlike claw appeared from underneath the earth. The fox started to quake, but frozen in place. As soon as something would happen, she knew she would bolt.
The claw came forward and a big lizard-like head with huge eyes looked at the red haired girl. Her muscles clammed up and her tension built. The eyes seemed to measure her up and a big sniff pulled the air towards the head.
A moment nothing happened in that forest. A moment, time stopped. Then the legs of the red haired girl started to move. Shaking all over she barely avoided small trunks, took crazy turns and ran through the forest.
